Great job Jason, the coral blue looks really nice on the Austin! These early cars were simple but always look a million bucks after a nice restoration.
Nice save with the bumper repair! Agree that the lights look unrealistic in chrome - might consider touching them up with a white dot in the center giving a 'lights on with chrome bezel' look...
Hi Jason, I really like your style and commitment to the 1-75 models. I actually restored this car last week, had to grind down the headlights as well. The post blew out during drilling, that was my fiddly bit. Just a thought - I use rattle cans and an air brush interchangeably, and I have found that placing the can in hot (from the tap) water for five minutes increases the pressure of the spray. This allows me to spray further away from the model giving a more airbrush-like delivery. Make sure you dry the can before spraying!
Very good casting,Jason.pity it,like a lot of early Matchbox,never had window's or seats.This was rectified on later casting's,although not,as far as i'm aware retro-fitted on those,like the A50.Top resto mate.your patch piece worked well.
