In this exploring the best Christmas markets vlog, we take you on a journey and show you the positives of both cities and their Christmas markets.
In Munich, we visit a number of the more famous Christmas Markets and in Salzburg, we do the same. As a bonus, while in Salzburg, we take a short trip to the famous Silent Night Chapel. The original site of the most famous and often regarded as the best Christmas Carol of all time, Silent Night.

Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Love that they have bears to skate with instead of penguins! Great choice of sausage and gluewine. Some very attractive baubles, id worry about getting them home safely. Yes, it’s been brilliant to relive these markets and use some of the footage we didn’t use last year. Loved all the sausages of course, but that strudel was something else. Very nice Christmas markets. The oldest and, for me, most beautiful Christmas market is the Striezelmarkt in Dresden.

I think after just one visit it would take me the next year to diet off the pounds I'd gain! Smaller crowds for sure for me...and the snow sure adds to everything!! It's Salzburg for us for sure, just so pretty, with the snow , less crowds, delicious food and every Christmas bauble imaginable, we would love to visit here❄️ 🎄🎅. I have the same issues, holiday videos do really well, others less so. The problem is there is so much content on TH-cam it is very hard to get round and watch everyone's content. I did enjoy this Christmas Market video, though. I think I'm team Salzburg.

The European Christmas market is an interesting phenomenon. We have some craft markets during Christmas in the USA , but these seems to have a lot more food items. All the same Merry Christmas.

Great and interesting video, we've done the Munich Christmas markets and were blown away with just how many markets they had. Plus we had a bit of snow too, a great bonus. But haven't yet done Salzburg. Cool you had snow there too. Against British Chrismas markets Salzburg still looks amazing and a stunning town, but out of the two I think I prefer the Munich market. @@itstufayeldm thanks for watching. We have no budget to employ anyone at the moment. It’s a hobby that we know will grow slowly.
Both cities looked really lovely, if somewhat cold! Snowy Christmases aren't delightful when you've spent more years living in the Southern Hemisphere than the northern! I like the images not the reality! Don't worry about views being down this time of year, it's part of the cycle for travel content on youtube. Annoying as November and December are the highest amounts paid for the ads on the videos. Mark Wolters from the channel Woltersworld (who as he puts it is a marketing professor in his day job) often talks about the dive in views from September to January, so to feed the algorithm he posts lesser videos and saves the popular type content from January onwards when people are starting to plan for their holidays and are looking for travel content. Lifestyle (what to buy for Christmas, Amazon wishlists) seem to be the way to go this time of year!

We did notice last year that we went right down in November and December but didn’t know if this was a yearly trend! I’ve watched a few of Wolters Worlds videos - he’s great. Ahh Rach and Wills, this was the PERFECT watch on my saturday evening. Both markets looked so amazing, so wholesome and fun, i think personally for me Munich would be my go to - but Salzburg too has it's amazing quirks too! Both will have to do :P Love love love the way you both create your videos, felt sad to hear that you were both feeling down about views etc, of course it's the same with us, but honestly we know how much effort you both put in and it really does show, you both have a channel to be really proud of, you inspire people to want to go to these places, that's the jackpot, but just trust me, your channel is going places, it will! Just remember us when you're hitting the big time :P This was a fabulous video, loving seeing what the markets are like in Europe! Thank you both x
Thank you so much. I think Wills is team Munich too, but to be fair they’re both gorgeous. Thanks for your kind words on our channel. I think we were just extra grumpy that day as it’s the busiest time of year for work, we can’t go away at all this year due to work and as last year, views are going down (if trends follow they’ll pick up from January and then improve!!). I don’t think we’ll ever be massive, but if we could have the channel making us enough to travel more, we’d be very happy campers (well not camping as Wills is allergic to it!). You guys will be huge one day. You are so informative and education could do well to pick up your vids - or NT or English Heritage - you certainly show the treasures we have in this country (most of which we’ve never heard of, but when we go somewhere new we always check out if you’ve found somewhere near!).

Ya gotta love Munich. What an absolute sausage fest. I love a good pork. Salzburg is wonderful too. I love a good bit of strudel. Salzburg does have all that bonus fake Sound of Music history as well. I love that you can visit the actual locations of things that didn't happen that were filmed on a sound stage in Hollywood. Nice job with this video. Pretty much perfect timing. The problem with date specific videos is by the time you film them it is too late to post them so doing last year's now is a great move.

I'm sorry you have't been getting the views you hoped. It looks like you're travelling fine from the outside. I am going to make one of my predictions that have invariably come true except when they haven't. You will have 5000 subs by Christmas. 2024. Worst case is you could do more cruise videos to bump up he views. Any tropical islands near you? I hear the British Isles are nice this time of year. You could drop in at places like Belfast and Cardiff and that Man Island whatever it is called. Is it like one of those men only religious communities in Greece? Anyway, I'm sure you'd get dozens of views for a British Isles cruise.

It was fun to compare with Salzburg. I have been thinking about Austria a lot, not only because I enjoyed our two weeks there a year ago, but also because I still need to edit my Vlogs😮🙄. And even though I barely eat meat, I have been craving schnitzel! And apfel strudel of course 😋 .

Great idea for a video! We may have uploaded a Christmas episode coming out this month only using last year's footage as well. You guys have added the Silent Night chapel to the top 5 on our bucket list, along with many other spots. As you know, we recently were getting down on our view count as well. Even India at the beginning wasn't doing too well and India in general is the worst place to try to make money because TH-cam only gives you 40 cents per 1,000 views. Ready to move on, we decided, "Well, we have this footage from the Vande Bharat, that most people did well with, let's at least put this out before we're done with India content." And wouldn't you know it, that "throw away episode" is our highest video of all time and it got us 2,500 subscribers. There are certain topics that do well on TH-cam as well as certain countries. We knew India had potential but we also flopped in Poland and some other countries that launched other people's channels. Unfortunately we often quit right before the breakthrough. You kids have all the tools you need for success. Seriously. The good news is you are not relying on TH-cam to make a living, so that should take a lot of the pressure off. And if you really look at the people who finally are full time on TH-cam, almost all of them have been making some kind of videos for 5 to 10 years, so we all have a long way to go. And if we have all learned this much already, just image how good we will be 5 years from now when we release our talents to the ENTIRE WORLD!
Thanks for the TED talk, we needed that! We know one day a video (probably a random one like happened for you) will do well. Wow 2500 subs off a vid, that’s amazing. Yes some of the bigger channels we follow have now been going 10 years and make a living, but the thought of having to do the day job until then is depressing!!!
