I have always like the cats from Willard...both for catching and for eating. They have saved a lot of trips for me when I targeted other species but didn't get no love from them.
Ah yes. A lot of folks catch them without knowing what they have really caught. Depending on the species you are targeting they may also be called "whiskery walleyes' or "whiskery wipers". And then there are the "toothless golden walleyes"...or "golden wipers" (carp). Willard Bay has a lot of good tugs.
No whities in Willard. Just Utah Lake. But they hit all year round...from under the ice to the hottest part of summer. Only problem this year is that there was a big dieoff among the white bass population early in the year...and a poor spawn. White bass numbers are way down and may need a few years to recover.
