I’ve love you on BFT! Been reading your reports over a decade! Thank you for all your knowledge. Besides my Uncles that got me into fishing you and the Bft community have helped me fish! Thank you.

Thanks for making and posting your day on the water TD. I still have the Tubin & Toonin book you sent me way back. Greetings from Ireland!

Wow. Wondered if you were still "kicking around". Good to hear from you and glad you like my trips. The videos should give you a better idea on how we do it in the colonies.

Just found your TH-cam channel & I'm really enjoying your videos. Just wondering what lb line & rods you are using?
Also what is the tube looking thing on your crawler harness? Like the Chartreuse or Fire Tiger tube?
I like making my own crawlers using beads, but what you're using looks pretty cool. Links to your gear would be helpful... I'll keep watching. Thanks
    Sincerely,
    Matthew

I make my own rods and also the lures I am using. Most of my rods for float tube fishing are about 6-6.5 feet..some ujp to 7'. Action is usually medium to medium light with a fast tip. The lures in question are "fligs"...floating jigs. I have a couple of videos on them....both for making them and fishing them. th-cam.com/video/preG4S5iuDA/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/0v3pDtYDsZs/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/JNKlIx-BuU8/w-d-xo.html . These lures are made with high density foam and painted in my fave colors...as in the one video link. The main attractions of these lures...besides the fish catching colors...are being able to present your bait above the bottom and also to add spinners and or colorful beads to create your own action and appearance. I have some PDF file writeups on several flig topics. If you would like more info my email address is tdude@centurylink.net

Great videos! I'm going to be hitting Willard next week with my kayak. Did you make the tackle you use or did you buy it. Much different than the worm harnesses I make, but I'd love to give them a try.

I have been tying flies, making lures and building fishing rods for MANY years. I have originated quite a few different lure designs...like the "Whirly Fligs" I use for making worm harnesses. I have a couple of videos on TH-cam about Fligs. And I rig worm harnesses on several different kinds of lures...including plain jig heads. Good luck next week. I will probably try to get out one day next week myself. It has been too windy for a while and I have been taking care of my wife who just got a new knee.

Maybe we can connect when I'm there

And there are times it has me down. By the way, I applied for a patent on some of my new lures and I got a "Pat Pending"

@@bobharmon8508 I don't have patents on any of my lures. I originally make them for my own use but do sell them to a few fellow fishing buddies. I don't have a big commercial operation but do have quite a few "frequent buyers". I live in the Salt Lake area but have a few folks in other parts of the country who I work with by mail and Paypal. Send me an email at tdude@centurylink.net and we can discuss details.

The tube dud dragging a minner while real fishermen in real boats are catching game fish .

Lemme guess. Your IQ barely exceeds your waist size in inches. I fish from a float tube by choice. I have owned boats and fished from others' boats but still prefer the solitary and finesses aspects of tubing. For what it's worth, in my over six decades of fishing all over the western hemisphere...fresh water and salt...I would bet I have caught more species of fish than you have caught fish in total.

@@tubedude467 i dont know about the first 4 decades but the past 20 years all i have seen is draggin a minner around ,i see videos of dirty hands from crawlers and trash fish.Thats all no exotics from all over the 7 seas and the far reaches if the western hemisphere.Yes the great bloated tubeDUD,a legend in his own piss, with the high IQ.
