That is how mortar shells work. There was an American soldier in Italy in WW2 who was low on grenades and resorted to throwing armed mortar shells and received the medal of honor for his actions.
Charles “Commando” Kelly. My guy was a BAR operator that went through two guns because he burned out the barrels, used 60mm mortars as grenades, and was last seen firing a bazooka at some German armor before he was able to make it back to friendly lines.
The fucking worst one, in all honesty. I spent 55 minutes try to get past the part where you have to run up the hill with the bunker. You're literally crawling on the ground tossing all of the grenades back, hoping you don't get tripled up on with those.
Like actual war, it hurts and can give you night trauma. I'm not kidding, dawg. Literally had nightmares about the Stalingrad sniper. Being killed over and over really gets bad.
This Platinum is probably still the one I’m most happy about. A nightmare is a good way of describing it. Some of those grenade spam missions were so sweaty. You need a very good patience to beat this one.

I've completed this game last sunday on veteran. And let me tell you, Blow torch and Corkscrew, and the last mission, were the most painful missions of my playthrough. You got lucky when you got bugged, it is otherwise, worse than all the previous missions you go through.

I still have the veteran campaign burned into my brain from half my lifetime ago. Probably the most satisfying platinum in all of gaming. Awesome work as always, thanks for making me relive my trauma 😆
Always a good day when Joelemz uploads. I was about 15 when I platinum'd this game (I'm 29 now) and I still wake up in the middle of the night screaming in horror, having a nightmare that I'm surrounded by grenades, but every time I pick one up to throw it away 3 more appear, and this carries on until one finally explodes, thrusting me from my torment. My girlfriend simply can't understand my childhood trauma. Good times. She's half Japanese, so I even sometimes feel I haven't woken up and I'm in a Japanese POW camp once I see her face. It's fine though.
Dude I am so happy you are ALMOST getting as much recognition that you deserve. I've loved your videos from when they would get 100 views. Every time that I would see your videos I would watch it and about halfway through I would realize this wasn't one of the people I watch that have over half a million views. Your content is fantastic and I am glad you stuck with it. We met on Tarkov and you wrangled me into a discord. I can't believe you have gained well over 100K subscribers. Keep trucking man. 15:36 - i'm so glad you adressed this point in particular! I got the platinum quite a few years back and this was the section that was burned into my brain, the god damn grenade spam in that section had me dying, respawning and trying a slightly different movement pattern so many times i totally lost count. I think it took me two weeks to beat this level simply because i was so angry after a bunch of attempts i'd have to walk away and come back another day. The feeling when you finally complete it is fantastic though! Congrats on the plat, really entertaining seeing your journey to it 👏
Platinum'ing this game on PS3 was one of the biggest let down moments in my life... Its the only god damned COD too that has a probelm with the grenade spam trash in veteran. I don't know why they thought they needed to have that. Same thing kinda applies to the never ending enemy spawn, it almost comes off like its broken.
I heard that I was just playing the playlist of COD and I heard it... And I turned the playlist scroll off and checked the comments if someone noticed.. lol
Awesome video, Joelemz! The WAW campaign was one of my favourites, but its notoriety is very clearly stemming from its absurd difficulty. Beating this game on veteran is no easy feet, good job! By the way, if this was an attempt to get all achievements on XBox it would have been an even more spectacular mess, as you'd had to get 1st and 10th prestige to get achievements lmfao. I'd figure that since WAW is so dead nowadays, the only way to get it is by first getting a modder to boost you to lvl 65, prestiging once and then asking a modder to boost you to nineth prestige.

One wrong move in real life, and you're toast a lot of the time, especially when you're fighting an equally skilled enemy in an extremely hostile urban environment. Makes it understandable why millions died sometimes just trying to take a single city, or why taking a single apartment building could take days.

Having to smoke the tanks before destroying them is honestly peak game design. And the sniper duel where the npc peeks, holds a position where he thinks you are and then dips, kust like you have to do?? These guys were kinda cooking with some of these encounters
This video brings back memories of when I tried to finish waw on veteran as a teenager don’t remember if I did or not, that 360’s long gone but the entire battle was just tryna cheese the ai and hiding lol
I have platinumed this literally like a decade ago.. and i still have some funny memories with it, it was not easy but i think MW2 special ops Juggernauts takes the crown
I don't know whats worse. World at War Veteran Campaign or Black Ops 3 Realistic Campaign. Both were the hardest things I have ever done in gaming. World at War and Black Ops 3 are my proudest Platinum trophies. Can't wait to see you try Platinum Black Ops 3. Its gona be a pain.
I can confirm. Played the Campaign on Hardened, that mortar pit caused me physical and mental pain. I seriously considered lower difficulty because of that
This was my first ever made Platin trophy, 15 YEARS AGO… 😢😂 Thank you for uploading this, 20 min straight smiling cause of the flashback or let’s say, revisiting my trauma 🤣
All I can think about is all the people who actually participated in these operations in WWII. Just imagine what they've been through when you can't take even one bullet there.
You really got lucky on that Blowtorch and Corkscrew mission. For me, it was fully functional and it was the actual hardest mission in the game. Heart of the Reich was pretty painful but I had a lot more hiding spots and the checkpoints weren’t nearly as spread out. I completed Blowtorch and Corkscrew in 3 hours while Heart of the Reich took me half that time, which is still a lot but a lot less. Also, that last part on the stairs was actually the easiest one for me. When I got the second to last checkpoint, enemies were only in the destroyed house, so I dodged them on the right side and killed them before more could appear, and then, I climbed the ladder, took care of the German snipers and sniped everyone on the stairs with a PPSH-41 (for which I borrowed ammo to fallen comrades I knifed along the way) and an STG-44 until there were little enemies left and then, I went down and killed the rest till the mission ended. Of course, I don’t want to pretend that it was easy. It was still very hard but I found it manageable… the way I did it of course. I can imagine how painful it would be had I done it on the ground.
That is how mortar shells work. There was an American soldier in Italy in WW2 who was low on grenades and resorted to throwing armed mortar shells and received the medal of honor for his actions.

These guys were kinda cooking with some of these encounters
Great video, I subbed straight after watching. Very entertaining, I look forward to more.
What an absolute gamer
The narratives and humor, love it
Most normal day in Stalingrad 1945
This takes me way back. I got this platinum I think in 2009. Was only 14. All my friends got it as well. One of the hardest things we've ever done
This video brings back memories of when I tried to finish waw on veteran as a teenager don’t remember if I did or not, that 360’s long gone but the entire battle was just tryna cheese the ai and hiding lol
Now do the Zombie trophies.
I have platinumed this literally like a decade ago.. and i still have some funny memories with it, it was not easy but i think MW2 special ops Juggernauts takes the crown
Ah, the echo missions....
OUGH MEIGH GAWWWD 17:40
I don't know whats worse.
World at War Veteran Campaign or Black Ops 3 Realistic Campaign.
Both were the hardest things I have ever done in gaming.
World at War and Black Ops 3 are my proudest Platinum trophies.
Can't wait to see you try Platinum Black Ops 3. Its gona be a pain.
6:29 that was a very slick and subtle Phoon reference and I sir respect your old school taste lol

“I *FUCKING HATE* this bunker.” - the wisest man playing WAW Veteran
I can confirm. Played the Campaign on Hardened, that mortar pit caused me physical and mental pain. I seriously considered lower difficulty because of that
@@cynicalipi was think about suicide when i play it
bro u deserve way more views and likes, love the content
The music in the background at 16:55 sounds so familiar, yet I can't remember the name. Could someone help me out?

@@FENEKFOX Thank you, I found it.
This was my first ever made Platin trophy, 15 YEARS AGO… 😢😂

WaW Veteran difficulty, giving WW2 PTSD to a whole new generation

4:49 "If I would've waited, would that have happend?"
Random soldier in the back "Yes sir!"
The best call of duty ever. But the vendetta mission on even regular difficulty is hard af
2:32 you didn’t get the raygun tho
Cool Platinum and it's not that hard once you know how to use smoke grenades and just run through the smoke to the next checkpoint

Why did i move here? I gusse it was the weather
