The way Genshin solves problems is ludicrous to me. Like there's an obvious easy solution that even players recognize but genshin is like "We can do that but what if we do this instead"
i dont really know about programming, but i believe a "save artifact set" feature is much easier to code than "search best aritfact set", and they choose features that are actually harder to code, do they really just want to flex their coding skills or something? correct me if i'm wrong
Funny thing is all this the loadout thingy is already almost(?) perfect in Honkai Impact 3. I mean sure theres might be some limitation and they cant just copy paste the whole thing and it work like magic, but bruh Hoyoverse is not indie company anymore. They got the resources to actually make this. 1st year into the game? Sure it take time. But 4 year? Damn.

I'm betting the reason they won't do it is because they want to maximize player playtime with inconvenience. Because it's inconvenient to swap artifacts for the average player, they'll be more incentivised to get more relic sets for EACH character... Which means more potential money from people buying resin.

It's crazy to me that this feature hasn't been properly added to HSR or Genshin when miHoYo has had the exact system everyone wants in Honkai Impact 3rd for years. They literally just need to copy paste it.
Maybe because this system will drastically lower the player retention. Artifact farming and artifact “management” is a bulk of player gameplay in these games. No offense for Tashman but his perspective is pretty stupidly self-centered. in the players side. The company’s goal isn’t to give everything you want but to give you something that you want BUT at the same time won’t be a problem to company “stats”
i don’t see why they can’t replicate the party load outs, like the load outs that you can click on and save. why can’t they do that for the artifacts? they could simply just do that and make saves like the party menu
@@OrtonHeadXIVI don't share artifacts between characters. What I want is one set of artifacts saved for freeze ganyu, and second set of artifacts for charged shot ganyu. I don't even care if it would flag all the artifacts in both sets as "equipped" to make the quick swaps possible. That wouldn't make me farm less, I would farm more so I could have multiple sets saved for several of my characters.
Because party loadouts have been in place since release. With those you can easily expand. Equipment loadouts however require to allocate separate resources to develop. And it seems loadouts are not high on their priority list.
@@13Nagash13 you can do it now with 10 clicks. equip freeze ganuy artifact on Amber and CA on Ganuy. if needed switch is 20 secs. I imagine 90% of ppl dont switch artifacts at all the ppl that do dont do it often
The ironic thing is, HonkaiImpact 3rd has had equipment loadouts for years now, and yes, not like this one or the one in StarRail, an actual “pick the specific thing to pre-build a loadout for a character that you can quick swap back and forth” kind of loadout.

Makes me think specifically of when HoT got her divine key in hi3 and we got the G4 Handel set. Handel would typically stay on Eden but you'd swap into HoT depending on the content. Deadass 3 taps to swap
Stigmata aren't randomly generated, artifacts and relics from HSR are randomly generated. The games probably generate 100 million of these things every day in each game. Genshin has probably generated over a trillion random artifacts since the game launched. The point is that the database tables are probably a form of hell on Earth for the backend engineers because the tables where missing information for loadouts at launch and now there are a trillion of those things sitting in a database that don't have what is needed and trying to put it in without bugs and causing peoples artifacts to disappear randomly hasn't been solved. Stigmata aren't randomly generated and dont need unique identifiers, artifacts do, which means its a rocket science level problem to fix since it probably didn't start with the correct backend, maybe. IDK actually, just guessing, maybe they are just really stupid, but what I can say is that the artifact backend is way more complex than the stigmata backend because Genshin and HSR just create a gigantic f-ckton of them everyday and they are all unique and have to sit on a table.

@@knightmare938 The real solution would be to get rid of artifacts and relics and let people finish there builds with standardized drops that don't have rng. But yeah I will take anything that ends the hell that is farming. Would love to have the ability to just create custom gear, a smart dev would do that and then just clean up the whole thing because every artifact would be a container and you would only have n containers that is the size of the all the types of artifacts with x variables that people could customize (stigmata in Hi3 is probably closer to this). Right now I think they are literally storing each of these things as unique items in a database which is the worst of all worlds for them.
HOYO knows exactly what kind of artifacts loadout we want BUT they simply don't want to implement to FORCE players to farm different sets for all characters to keep us busy.

What ur saying is sharing same set b/w different characters, its not why we need loadouts. What we want is to switch b/w different sets on same character rather than same set on different characters

Eg kokomi can use deepwood,clam,tenacity if I want to switch fluently b/w these I need loadouts, what ur saying is completely different that we only have one dps set which we need to cycle b/w different characters. That is not why we need loadouts cause everyone knows that you will need to farm at least 2 sets of a dps artifact like emblem cause u can play xq,xl,raiden etc in one team.

That's the funny part, by naming this new feature "Loadouts" now they can ignore all futher requests for adding loadouts since they've already added them... These literally aren't loadouts and I'm confident that naming them as such was a tactical move by the Genshin Team. For whatever reason they are determined to keep the game "causal", and I'm going to assume that Artifact Loadouts didn't seem like a feature that "causals" would need to engage with. A quick equip in contrast is a perfect inclusion for causal players.

We asked for this for more than 2 years and now they added this shit and giving it name of artifact loadouts are they dumb or what. Atleast give a proper QOL update if you dont want to give other updates
All I want that each character can have at least two artifact sets that can be saved and used. If another character has one of the artifacts then take it from them or swap it with the current relic you have. In other words the stigmata preset system that Honkai Impact has since long ago.
6:27 I'm thinking you were expecting this sort of setup: Create loadout > select 5 artifacts manually > tag artifacts to that set > name set and save So we can just look it up, throw the entire pre-selected set on any character, apply, then get to testing... Sounds similar to the Manage Runes function in Summoners War today, doesn't it?
This is what I would want. I always swap sets with characters to see how strong they are with the best set on my Raiden, for example. Back in the day, I messed up a few of my characters due to misremembering whose artifact is whose.
Sad part is that they've known how to do this shit since Honkai Impact, but still dont want to give it to Genshin or Star Rail where it would be needed the most.
For the people who does not quite understand the rage: We need a system that memorize setups. Basically when we want to change one memorized build to other one by 1 pressing button instead of searching the whole catalog and picking up one by one.

It's ok, be that guy. I am so confused at how they messed this up. For the past 3 years in every survey (I fill them all out) I have put "we need artifact loadouts so we can save them to our characters for quick swap". In those exact words (I have had it saved for copy and paste the past 3 years). And this is what they did? How could they get this, from the feedback I posted? Anyway, good video!
i do the same for the past 3 years too! and i have 3 accounts. i answer all surveys and say the same freakin’ thing about allowing us to save artifact preset loadouts for quick swap among our characters.
It's simple, man. They don't give a f**k about our feedbacks. We asked for this, for artifact rolling, for resin system changes, for endgame contents. They did... NOTHING! I stopped supporting them. I always said, the worst enemy for Genshin it's Hoyo itself. They have the chance to transform this game in a masterpiece, but they're literally saying us to not to play this game instead. For long time players is simply became boring af.

They start off amazing, but over time things change, but by then we are too hopeful and too loyal to just "leave and move on". This is generally how toxic relationships go. I haven't played genshin for a while now, but i used to love that game. The reason I quit was because I felt no effort to improve or appreciation back and towards the end I just felt nothing but frustration. Losing the raiden weapon banner 50-50 to a LIMITED weapon I didn't want 4 times in a row since her release was the nail in the coffin for me. 2 weapons should not be on 1 banner. Yes, you're right, the game is not for me now, but that doesn't change the fact that there was a time when I loved that game, and if they had put some effort into making things better for me, things would have been different. Many of the loyal players moved to star rail not because we gave up on the game, but because the game gave up on us. Making us out to be the problem is just unfair.
The game never gave up on you. It never gave up on anyone. You simply were not their target demographic. Think of it like this. Genshin is like a lego game. They're massive open worlds which you are suppose to explore and solve puzzles to get rewards, some of those rewards being new characters. That's fine if you're into it. But if you're not, then it would look the game neglected you. For example, Zanny complaining that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was too easy (like bruh, it's for children). That's why I earlier put loyal in quotation marks. Those players were loyal to a version of genshin that never existed. But regarding Raiden's weapon banner. Judging by your wording, you got a different weapon than the one you were hoping for four times in a row? I agree there should be a separate banner, but did you use the fate system? That helped me on Raiden's initial banner.@@shelzor
What's really crazy, is that i personally dont even care if loadouts can or can't steal artifacts since the reason i want artifact loadouts is because i WANT to farm FULL personal sets. I just want to have multiple saved sets for a single character (since characters often have multiple viable or possible builds) so that i dont lose them and the whole set can be swapped with a single click, bonus points if your weapon can be saved as well.
Genshin realising that half of their "end game" is players swapping their artifacts out for 10 mins (i mean see zy0x bro takes like an hour) so they decided to implement this useless feature.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: The Genshin Devs have a single vision they want to stick to and they do not give a DAMN about what the players seem to want, only what their vision is. That's not bad in the sense of it helps the storytelling that they don't pander to what they think the players want, but its ATROCIOUS for everything else where we have been BEGGING for stuff since 1.0, and even if they DO finally get around to it, it's like they do it in the most backward ass way possible, like they're purposely telling us to screw off.
They are. A minuscule subset of hardcore players who think they want this is not what "the players want". Proof is the game keeps growing despite them not meeting the demands of this vocal minority.

The whole artefact system is honestly the thing that will make me quit genshin for good. Not just the fact you can’t save sets, but logging on for weeks at a time spending resin every day and not getting a half decent artefact just feels bad. Genshin feels really repetative... Now even new characters doesnot hype me up.. It makes me feel tiring jst to think that i need to collect 100 + flowers, random shit, rng farm the artifacts, etc... I dont wanna go with this cycle all the time.. There was no changes in the core game play since launch... Only changes it had are new character, new lifeless zones and somewhat of a intersting story with npc text and left clicks

I play The Division 2 and it has such a simple yet effective system of Artifacts loadouts I don't understand what's the issue here in Genshin Impact why can't they make it just as simple where U can build ur character with lets say a 4 piece Emblem set and then have a option where it says "Save this as Loadout" or something and then after it's saved we can then experiment with some other artifact sets without having to worry about messing up the original set and maybe we liked the experimented set too so again we save it on a second Loadout slot.....and have it such that each character only gets like 3 loadout slots. Man I can only imagine how good it would have been.😭😭😭😭
The artififact auto-lock was sooo complicated too, i barely use it. These menus for artifacts and characters are going to be wayyy too confusing for lower ranked players who dont understand all the nuances of the artifacts.
I didn't read the dev note yet, when i heard the word load out, i thought it would be our saved loadout for each character. But it seems this is not the case then ?
How did they actually mess it up? We've been asking for artifact presets where we could save sets and then fast equip them on characters, but nah, instead we got this. Like how did they manage to fck it up so badly????
They made it like this because they want all "gamers" to leave. They want Genshin to have most braindead and casual audience possible, that will play for a month, and afterwards log on big patches to "buy" characters. It is easier to sift for whales this way. Having a bunch of whining people is bad for business.

In the developer notes in the video it literally says under custom loadout (1:43) that you can choose the set and whether to take artifacts already equipped - what are you on about?
Its insane how many people are commenting without even looking at what is described in the dev notes. Yeah, he read that wrong and made a whole video about it. Still needs improvement, more custom loadouts tbf, but also they are probably going to roll it out slowly because the last thing they want are peoples rare 1 out of 100k 50 cv artifact that was originally made without a unique identifier disappearing due to a race condition or some other bug. The game has literally probably generate 1 trillion artifacts at this point, its a much harder problem than people give credit. They have the type of loadout system he wants in Hi3 but stigmata aren't randomly generated like artifacts if I had to make an educated guess, the database tables for these things seem like a nightmare. All that being said, definitely still needs work and people should continue to ask for improvements imo, but what they are roiling out is a logical first step.
that's not how loadouts work, a good loadout system would let choose specific pieces and equip those when you say so, what they're giving us is an advanced filter system

Every time I can I send feedback saying pre load outs, raise the resin or speed it up better coop opportunities than just taking people’s stuff or running bosses together, access to artifacts and weapons in the abyss menu. Just quality of life stuff but I guess they want the time wasted on us staying logged in instead of giving us more resources to stay logged in 😂
People need to understand that Hoyo doesn’t care about the long time players, they know most of them are too much invested to leave the game. This system is designed for the new players so that they don’t get overwhelmed and stick around long enough until they too become heavily invested. We need another anniversary incident to get them listen to us.

While i don't think it's a good system i think it's bit hypocritical to say it doesn't use already equipped artifacts when it's said there that you have the option to use them or not in the other option section. but i still think this system need more works
They should copy epic seven gear loadout. Its very convenient. You can choose the set and individual stat per piece to what your priority (slider depending on importance) is and gives you the best possible set. Im not doing it justice explaining but its very intuitive when you use it
Its impossible for me to think that hoyoverse cant implement this shitt in a heartbeat. Essentially what we want is: - Some kind of menu where you can select 5 specific artifacts that you own and then SAVE this combination of artifacts as a set. - In the character artifact equipping screen there should be a button (Equip loadout) which, when pressed shows you all loudout you have customized and saved. - When selecting a loadout from the loadout-selection screen, we get a prompt IF any of the artifacts in the selected loadout is already equipped on any other character. Here you should be able to confirm or deny the artifact switch. Anything else im missing????? how tf can this be so hard for a multi billion dollar company.. smh
I think we would all like a weapon/artifact load-out system, but given that character load-outs could share the same artifacts/weapons, and characters with load-outs that share the same weapons/artifacts could be on the same team, how would the game handle characters’ sets using the same artifact? What is the best way to get around this conflict? Maybe it’s just as simple as the game saying “by equipping the set, the following units will lose these artifacts. Are you sure you want to make these changes?” Genshin already does this for single artifacts, so expanding it to include multiple characters/artifacts in the same message is possible in theory, but it sounds like a mess to code.
Yeah it's not a problem at all if you just manually set the loadout to a character, since only 1 unit can have a certain artifact on them at a time anyway? And if you want to borrow artifact for another char just have a pop up window 🤷♀️ loadouts would actually help with multiple chars using same artifacts cuz you won't have to remember who has what and re-do their sets every time, one by one artifact
This is just filters that they decided to call load outs. This is a laughably bad move, because now anyone asking for loadouts will be met with a corporate copy paste "but we have those right over here pay pi- I mean customer, how about some wishes to celebrate, on you of course, the house always wins."
it's too much work to do other builds, even with all the filters. I would like to do EM raiden but it takes too much time going going back and forth so I rather just keep my OG fates build. This new system is like playing COD and building a new "loadout " mid game only to re do it from zero if you want to go back.

I don't know why the genshin community talks trash about MTashed, he's the only one who really wants Genshin Impact to be the game that it can become, but because of other creators that are just okay with what they are given Genshin will never become what it possibly can. For how mid most parts of Tower of Fantasy is, they have a loadout system where you can specifically choose your artifacts (matrices) for your characters (weapons). Switch to a different party (weapon combinations), the game automatically takes all these artifacts (matrices) from the other characters (weapons) who you won't be using. Switch to another party, the artifacts return instantly.
i’m pissed. it’s been 3.5 years gad damn. saving artifact presets is NOT that hard to implement. They do all these bullsh*t around artifact loadouts except the one thing we need. they will fix the peripheries, but they will not fix the core problem. What a bunch of nincompoops! For each character, in their artifacts section, under Artifact Details, put icons that say *Preset 1, Preset 2, Preset 3.* The players will set these artifact presets. You click the preset you want to equip your character with. One click, done. How is this freakin’ difficult?!? If an artifact is currently held by another character, the game asks you, “this artifact is equipped on another character. proceeding to equip will steal the artifact from current user. continue?” YES or NO. Again, how the heck do they not realize this?!? Seriously, i will rain on them so many complaints about this. The Genshin QoL team is just enormously stupid.
Fully agree, saving different Sets would be the best. But huge part of the rant was about not using equipped relics. But there was cleary seen and described "Options -> All" to use equipped items?
HSR: Ok, they are having a hard time with our new end game content. Add another end game content and a limited 5star. GI: That's crap. What they want is a bug that has kamehameha.
I would wait for 4.5 QOL changes to see if this is how they are leaving loadouts. Just because between 4.3 and 4.4 they have been making changes to artifact management, and they seem to be slowly rolling it out, meaning they could add proper loadouts next patch. At the very least it's a positive change, but can definitely be way way better.
Feature that can be technically implemented in less than a week took them almost 4 years to finally bring it to the game lol. On top of that, they did it in the worst imaginable way. Can't believe GI and HSR are developed by the same company
You are on the right track. All what is left - is to ask "WHY hsr has these things, and genshin doesnt?", and to try to answer using some logic. It is all on purpose.

I'm no game developer, but how the heck could they not do this thing? Just Diluc Loadout one Pick 5 artifacts Save Load the loadout, the artifacts will take from other characters and swap it automatically.
But you have to farm that full set in most cases either way, because 1) different main stats and 2) if you ever want to use any two characters in the same team/abyss, they have to have their own sets anyway. Loadouts won't change that
@allew2826 no you don't, if you have one vv set and kazuha and sucrose, you don't need another since they want the same stats and aren't used at the same time, same goes for deepwood and em sets like gilded and flower of paradise. You can use the same gilded set on your thoma and raiden...
@@asummusa2023 and if you have idk quckbloom team for one half and a hyperbloom team for the other half of the abyss? What if you wanna play overload Raiden with Xiangling in one half and Yelan/Xingqiu or even both at once in another? You still need three/four full emblem sets for that. Plus, you can't just slap the same set on any character. Having crit weapon, hell even having especially cracked sands and/or goblet will influence what flower/circlet/etc you would want to use for balanced stats. Loadout can't change that Like, sure, some characters, like EM Raiden, Thoma and Kuki, can share one set. But not having individual sets limits how many chars and in which teams you can use at the same time. Especially in the abyss or when they add events that want you to have 2/3 separate teams.
@allew2826 the way abyss is designed is that a half prefers certain teams and elements and the other half is the opposite of it, and most players have at least one strong bennet/kazuha team and a strong dendro team, playing hyperbloom on both sides is not optimal and worth the hassle unless you enjoy doing suboptimal stuff for fun in which case you can do whatever tf you want.

I play this game called grandchase m and their loadout system is on the next level. Multiple charas can use the same load out at the same time. For example, raiden and sara can use the same emblem loadout so you don’t have to minmax for different units. Genshin wouldn’t do that tho cus they would lose money.
The simplest way they could have done loadouts would be to just have a 'Swap artifacts' where you swap artifacts between 2 characters. You'd be able to store artifact loadouts on unused characters and steal them when needed. Wouldn't be a perfect system, but would still be extremely simple but useful if they added it.

What makes this worse is that they labeled this as “loadouts”. This means that every single complaint, every constructive criticism, every survey comment about artifact loadouts is considered fixed in their books. Why? Because they labeled this as gold when in reality it’s just overpriced crap. They’re never going to do the actual loadouts. Hoyoverse doesnt want people to do less artifact farming, as thats basically the only endgame activity people can do. I often use your argument to explain why the artifact loadout feature is avoided by Hoyo. There will be people who agree but there are also many who don't. People who disagree with your argument think that the loadout feature will actually make it easier for people who frequently grind artifacts because they will have more than one artifact set for one character. After I looked at it, it turns out that this loadout feature will actually benefit both DEDICATED PEOPLE and LAZY PEOPLE. For dedicated people, as I have explained, this feature will make it easier for them to always change the artifact set to the SAME CHARACTER. However for lazy people, as you explained, this feature will make it easier for them because they don't need to grind a lot of artifacts, so the small number of artifact sets can be easily disassembled and installed on many characters. The dedicated players will use this feature to have multiple sets of artifacts for one character. The lazy players will use this feature to have a small set of artifacts for many characters.
That's the problem with Genshin Devs. We tell them 1 thing, they hear something else. Same thing with Miko on release. Players wanted to deploy her skill faster, or I-frames, or fixing her ultimate bug. But instead, they decided to fuck up her turrets targeting (which NO ONE asked for). Thank god they reverted that one. Can't ask these guys for nothing.
Tbh, when I first saw this I was like" Oh this is not artifact loadout, neh, maybe next patch". Hoyoverse labeled it as "Fast equip artifacts", I'm quite surprised that people are hyping it up or criticizing it as the "Artifact loadout". Like how sure are we that this is really the "Artifact loadout" and they will not release the actual artifact loadout that we wanted in the future patches? The way I see it, Hoyoverse has been building up on the QoL improvements on the artfiact these past few patches and I'm hoping that we get the "actual artifact loadout" the next patch or two. Although I do admit that it is really diappointing how long it is taking them, but it is what it is, now lemme go back to playing HSR.

I no longer play this game, but I keep up with it through a few creators I watch, and every time I come back to see these videos, it disappoints me time and time again to see Hoyoverse shoot themselves in the foot. The absolute greed and hubris of the management at hoyo is astounding. How does the Star Rail team continue to eclipse a game that had a several year head start in the middle of the pandemic and occupy a niche that no other gacha game at the time even dared. Genshin Impact is the definition of complacency, complacency that doesn't even make sense outside of greed. Hoyo is most likely the most profitable studio in the world and are more focused on meeting these six-week content cycles with throwaway events players will never be able to enjoy again, than actually improving the current state of the game. Nothing has baffled me more than the magazine interview where they infamously stated that adding more endgame content would give players "anxiety". How shortsighted do you need to be to not see how your playerbase is begging for it? It is the worst feeling in the world that as a community, you reasonably ask for more challenging content that actually takes advantage of your maxed out characters and the devs come up with the absolute dumbest excuse. The REAL excuse they can't say is how horrid the leveling and relic/stat system is in the game and is what would keep most players from enjoying or even reaching the endgame content in a reasonable amount of time, which could in turn produce an anxiety that you're missing out on content. Having to time-gate your playerbase with unfun trials that they farm for months be the main replayability/grind in the game is pathetic. The relic system is what ultimately got me to quit genshin. It made me feel almost nihilistic towards the game's future, because no matter what, no matter how many characters I get, no matter how leveled, how many constellations, weapon refinements, team comps I draft together, or even just straight time I sink into their game, you are ultimately held back by RNG relics and a game that keeps you from enjoying the full potential of your characters. Anyways, im going to get back to enjoying simulated universe for the 400th time cause its fun as hell.

They need challenging content that you can access at all power levels, and goes even further i.e. simulated universe from Honkai Star Rail. Players need something you can come back to weekly for rewards and a challenge. Simply adding or iterating on the spiral abyss isn’t the solution, it’s the bare minimum that should’ve been added ages ago.

Genshin definitely has a dedicated fanbase but not a fanbase that gives feedback cause that means something is wrong with their already "perfect'' game and also it brings out all sort of insecurities in them. Unfortunately this is the majority of the fanbase and people who actually gives feedback gets ignored cause the company has to work hard for these people. The company realistically speaking will try to make the maximum possible amount of money with the minimum amount of brainwork and effort. I'm betting the reason they won't do it is because they want to maximize player playtime with inconvenience. Because it's inconvenient to swap artifacts for the average player, they'll be more incentivised to get more relic sets for EACH character... Which means more potential money from people buying resin.

@@OrtonHeadXIVI don't share artifacts between characters. What I want is one set of artifacts saved for freeze ganyu, and second set of artifacts for charged shot ganyu. I don't even care if it would flag all the artifacts in both sets as "equipped" to make the quick swaps possible. That wouldn't make me farm less, I would farm more so I could have multiple sets saved for several of my characters.
Because party loadouts have been in place since release. With those you can easily expand. Equipment loadouts however require to allocate separate resources to develop. And it seems loadouts are not high on their priority list.

Stigmata aren't randomly generated, artifacts and relics from HSR are randomly generated. The games probably generate 100 million of these things every day in each game. Genshin has probably generated over a trillion random artifacts since the game launched. The point is that the database tables are probably a form of hell on Earth for the backend engineers because the tables where missing information for loadouts at launch and now there are a trillion of those things sitting in a database that don't have what is needed and trying to put it in without bugs and causing peoples artifacts to disappear randomly hasn't been solved. Stigmata aren't randomly generated and dont need unique identifiers, artifacts do, which means its a rocket science level problem to fix since it probably didn't start with the correct backend, maybe.
IDK actually, just guessing, maybe they are just really stupid, but what I can say is that the artifact backend is way more complex than the stigmata backend because Genshin and HSR just create a gigantic f-ckton of them everyday and they are all unique and have to sit on a table.

But yeah I will take anything that ends the hell that is farming. Would love to have the ability to just create custom gear, a smart dev would do that and then just clean up the whole thing because every artifact would be a container and you would only have n containers that is the size of the all the types of artifacts with x variables that people could customize (stigmata in Hi3 is probably closer to this). Right now I think they are literally storing each of these things as unique items in a database which is the worst of all worlds for them.

These literally aren't loadouts and I'm confident that naming them as such was a tactical move by the Genshin Team. For whatever reason they are determined to keep the game "causal", and I'm going to assume that Artifact Loadouts didn't seem like a feature that "causals" would need to engage with. A quick equip in contrast is a perfect inclusion for causal players.

This is what I would want. I always swap sets with characters to see how strong they are with the best set on my Raiden, for example. Back in the day, I messed up a few of my characters due to misremembering whose artifact is whose.
It's even in pgr and hi3 so it isn't that uncommon
Sad part is that they've known how to do this shit since Honkai Impact, but still dont want to give it to Genshin or Star Rail where it would be needed the most.

We need a system that memorize setups. Basically when we want to change one memorized build to other one by 1 pressing button instead of searching the whole catalog and picking up one by one.

I am so confused at how they messed this up. For the past 3 years in every survey (I fill them all out) I have put "we need artifact loadouts so we can save them to our characters for quick swap". The reason I quit was because I felt no effort to improve or appreciation back and towards the end I just felt nothing but frustration. Losing the raiden weapon banner 50-50 to a LIMITED weapon I didn't want 4 times in a row since her release was the nail in the coffin for me. 2 weapons should not be on 1 banner.

Many of the loyal players moved to star rail not because we gave up on the game, but because the game gave up on us. Making us out to be the problem is just unfair.
The game never gave up on you. It never gave up on anyone. You simply were not their target demographic. Think of it like this. Genshin is like a lego game. They're massive open worlds which you are suppose to explore and solve puzzles to get rewards, some of those rewards being new characters. That's fine if you're into it. But if you're not, then it would look the game neglected you. For example, Zanny complaining that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was too easy (like bruh, it's for children). That's why I earlier put loyal in quotation marks. Those players were loyal to a version of genshin that never existed. But regarding Raiden's weapon banner. Judging by your wording, you got a different weapon than the one you were hoping for four times in a row? I agree there should be a separate banner, but did you use the fate system? What's really crazy, is that i personally dont even care if loadouts can or can't steal artifacts since the reason i want artifact loadouts is because i WANT to farm FULL personal sets. I just want to have multiple saved sets for a single character (since characters often have multiple viable or possible builds) so that i dont lose them and the whole set can be swapped with a single click, bonus points if your weapon can be saved as well.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: The Genshin Devs have a single vision they want to stick to and they do not give a DAMN about what the players seem to want, only what their vision is. That's not bad in the sense of it helps the storytelling that they don't pander to what they think the players want, but its ATROCIOUS for everything else where we have been BEGGING for stuff since 1.0, and even if they DO finally get around to it, it's like they do it in the most backward ass way possible, like they're purposely telling us to screw off.

Not just the fact you can’t save sets, but logging on for weeks at a time spending resin every day and not getting a half decent artefact just feels bad. Genshin feels really repetative... Now even new characters doesnot hype me up.. It makes me feel tiring jst to think that i need to collect 100 + flowers, random shit, rng farm the artifacts, etc...
I dont wanna go with this cycle all the time.. There was no changes in the core game play since launch...
Only changes it had are new character, new lifeless zones and somewhat of a intersting story with npc text and left clicks

I play The Division 2 and it has such a simple yet effective system of Artifacts loadouts I don't understand what's the issue here in Genshin Impact why can't they make it just as simple where U can build ur character with lets say a 4 piece Emblem set and then have a option where it says "Save this as Loadout" or something and then after it's saved we can then experiment with some other artifact sets without having to worry about messing up the original set and maybe we liked the experimented set too so again we save it on a second Loadout slot.....and have it such that each character only gets like 3 loadout slots. Man I can only imagine how good it would have been.😭😭😭😭

The artififact auto-lock was sooo complicated too, i barely use it. These menus for artifacts and characters are going to be wayyy too confusing for lower ranked players who dont understand all the nuances of the artifacts.
I didn't read the dev note yet, when i heard the word load out, i thought it would be our saved loadout for each character. But it seems this is not the case then ?
How did they actually mess it up? We've been asking for artifact presets where we could save sets and then fast equip them on characters, but nah, instead we got this. Like how did they manage to fck it up so badly????
They made it like this because they want all "gamers" to leave. They want Genshin to have most braindead and casual audience possible, that will play for a month, and afterwards log on big patches to "buy" characters. It is easier to sift for whales this way. Having a bunch of whining people is bad for business.

In the developer notes in the video it literally says under custom loadout (1:43) that you can choose the set and whether to take artifacts already equipped - what are you on about?
Its insane how many people are commenting without even looking at what is described in the dev notes. Yeah, he read that wrong and made a whole video about it. Still needs improvement, more custom loadouts tbf, but also they are probably going to roll it out slowly because the last thing they want are peoples rare 1 out of 100k 50 cv artifact that was originally made without a unique identifier disappearing due to a race condition or some other bug. The game has literally probably generate 1 trillion artifacts at this point, its a much harder problem than people give credit. They have the type of loadout system he wants in Hi3 but stigmata aren't randomly generated like artifacts if I had to make an educated guess, the database tables for these things seem like a nightmare. All that being said, definitely still needs work and people should continue to ask for improvements imo, but what they are roiling out is a logical first step.
that's not how loadouts work, a good loadout system would let choose specific pieces and equip those when you say so, what they're giving us is an advanced filter system

Every time I can I send feedback saying pre load outs, raise the resin or speed it up better coop opportunities than just taking people’s stuff or running bosses together, access to artifacts and weapons in the abyss menu. Just quality of life stuff but I guess they want the time wasted on us staying logged in instead of giving us more resources to stay logged in 😂
HSR devs: Take note of that and implement it after a few patches.
So basically they gave us something we don’t want and won’t use, and they didn’t listen at all to our previous requests.
People need to understand that Hoyo doesn’t care about the long time players, they know most of them are too much invested to leave the game.
This system is designed for the new players so that they don’t get overwhelmed and stick around long enough until they too become heavily invested.
We need another anniversary incident to get them listen to us.

It's like they want to pretend that they're implimenting QoL features because Star Rail keeps doing it, but they're too incompetant or lazy to actually add those QoL changes.
While i don't think it's a good system i think it's bit hypocritical to say it doesn't use already equipped artifacts when it's said there that you have the option to use them or not in the other option section.

They should copy epic seven gear loadout. Its very convenient. You can choose the set and individual stat per piece to what your priority (slider depending on importance) is and gives you the best possible set. Im not doing it justice explaining but its very intuitive when you use it
Its impossible for me to think that hoyoverse cant implement this shitt in a heartbeat. Essentially what we want is:
- Some kind of menu where you can select 5 specific artifacts that you own and then SAVE this combination of artifacts as a set.
- In the character artifact equipping screen there should be a button (Equip loadout) which, when pressed shows you all loudout you have customized and saved.
- When selecting a loadout from the loadout-selection screen, we get a prompt IF any of the artifacts in the selected loadout is already equipped on any other character. Here you should be able to confirm or deny the artifact switch.
Anything else im missing????? how tf can this be so hard for a multi billion dollar company.. smh

I think we would all like a weapon/artifact load-out system, but given that character load-outs could share the same artifacts/weapons, and characters with load-outs that share the same weapons/artifacts could be on the same team, how would the game handle characters’ sets using the same artifact? What is the best way to get around this conflict? Maybe it’s just as simple as the game saying “by equipping the set, the following units will lose these artifacts. Are you sure you want to make these changes?” Genshin already does this for single artifacts, so expanding it to include multiple characters/artifacts in the same message is possible in theory, but it sounds like a mess to code.
Yeah it's not a problem at all if you just manually set the loadout to a character, since only 1 unit can have a certain artifact on them at a time anyway? And if you want to borrow artifact for another char just have a pop up window 🤷♀️ loadouts would actually help with multiple chars using same artifacts cuz you won't have to remember who has what and re-do their sets every time, one by one artifact
This is just filters that they decided to call load outs. This is a laughably bad move, because now anyone asking for loadouts will be met with a corporate copy paste "but we have those right over here pay pi- I mean customer, how about some wishes to celebrate, on you of course, the house always wins."

it's too much work to do other builds, even with all the filters. I would like to do EM raiden but it takes too much time going going back and forth so I rather just keep my OG fates build. This new system is like playing COD and building a new "loadout " mid game only to re do it from zero if you want to go back.

I don't know why the genshin community talks trash about MTashed, he's the only one who really wants Genshin Impact to be the game that it can become, but because of other creators that are just okay with what they are given Genshin will never become what it possibly can.

For how mid most parts of Tower of Fantasy is, they have a loadout system where you can specifically choose your artifacts (matrices) for your characters (weapons). Switch to a different party (weapon combinations), the game automatically takes all these artifacts (matrices) from the other characters (weapons) who you won't be using. Switch to another party, the artifacts return instantly.
There's also a ''Steal this artifact from x character?'' prompt etc, but I wasn't even expecting any extras like that... This just downright absurd

For each character, in their artifacts section, under Artifact Details, put icons that say *Preset 1, Preset 2, Preset 3.*
The players will set these artifact presets.
You click the preset you want to equip your character with. One click, done.

If an artifact is currently held by another character, the game asks you, “this artifact is equipped on another character. proceeding to equip will steal the artifact from current user. continue?” YES or NO.

I would wait for 4.5 QOL changes to see if this is how they are leaving loadouts. Just because between 4.3 and 4.4 they have been making changes to artifact management, and they seem to be slowly rolling it out, meaning they could add proper loadouts next patch. But you have to farm that full set in most cases either way, because 1) different main stats and 2) if you ever want to use any two characters in the same team/abyss, they have to have their own sets anyway. Loadouts won't change that

What if you wanna play overload Raiden with Xiangling in one half and Yelan/Xingqiu or even both at once in another? You still need three/four full emblem sets for that.
Plus, you can't just slap the same set on any character. Having crit weapon, hell even having especially cracked sands and/or goblet will influence what flower/circlet/etc you would want to use for balanced stats. Loadout can't change that
Like, sure, some characters, like EM Raiden, Thoma and Kuki, can share one set. But not having individual sets limits how many chars and in which teams you can use at the same time. Especially in the abyss or when they add events that want you to have 2/3 separate teams.
@allew2826 the way abyss is designed is that a half prefers certain teams and elements and the other half is the opposite of it, and most players have at least one strong bennet/kazuha team and a strong dendro team, playing hyperbloom on both sides is not optimal and worth the hassle unless you enjoy doing suboptimal stuff for fun in which case you can do whatever tf you want.
Genshin: here’s a haphazard, half-assed version of what you asked for that actually accomplishes nothing.

I play this game called grandchase m and their loadout system is on the next level. Multiple charas can use the same load out at the same time. For example, raiden and sara can use the same emblem loadout so you don’t have to minmax for different units. Genshin wouldn’t do that tho cus they would lose money.
The simplest way they could have done loadouts would be to just have a 'Swap artifacts' where you swap artifacts between 2 characters. You'd be able to store artifact loadouts on unused characters and steal them when needed. Wouldn't be a perfect system, but would still be extremely simple but useful if they added it.

People who disagree with your argument think that the loadout feature will actually make it easier for people who frequently grind artifacts because they will have more than one artifact set for one character.
After I looked at it, it turns out that this loadout feature will actually benefit both DEDICATED PEOPLE and LAZY PEOPLE.
For dedicated people, as I have explained, this feature will make it easier for them to always change the artifact set to the SAME CHARACTER.
However for lazy people, as you explained, this feature will make it easier for them because they don't need to grind a lot of artifacts, so the small number of artifact sets can be easily disassembled and installed on many characters.

That's the problem with Genshin Devs. We tell them 1 thing, they hear something else. Same thing with Miko on release. Players wanted to deploy her skill faster, or I-frames, or fixing her ultimate bug. But instead, they decided to fuck up her turrets targeting (which NO ONE asked for). Thank god they reverted that one.

Tbh, when I first saw this I was like" Oh this is not artifact loadout, neh, maybe next patch". Hoyoverse labeled it as "Fast equip artifacts", I'm quite surprised that people are hyping it up or criticizing it as the "Artifact loadout". Like how sure are we that this is really the "Artifact loadout" and they will not release the actual artifact loadout that we wanted in the future patches? The way I see it, Hoyoverse has been building up on the QoL improvements on the artfiact these past few patches and I'm hoping that we get the "actual artifact loadout" the next patch or two. Although I do admit that it is really diappointing how long it is taking them, but it is what it is, now lemme go back to playing HSR.

I no longer play this game, but I keep up with it through a few creators I watch, and every time I come back to see these videos, it disappoints me time and time again to see Hoyoverse shoot themselves in the foot.
The absolute greed and hubris of the management at hoyo is astounding. How does the Star Rail team continue to eclipse a game that had a several year head start in the middle of the pandemic and occupy a niche that no other gacha game at the time even dared. Genshin Impact is the definition of complacency, complacency that doesn't even make sense outside of greed.
Hoyo is most likely the most profitable studio in the world and are more focused on meeting these six-week content cycles with throwaway events players will never be able to enjoy again, than actually improving the current state of the game. Nothing has baffled me more than the magazine interview where they infamously stated that adding more endgame content would give players "anxiety".
How shortsighted do you need to be to not see how your playerbase is begging for it? It is the worst feeling in the world that as a community, you reasonably ask for more challenging content that actually takes advantage of your maxed out characters and the devs come up with the absolute dumbest excuse. The REAL excuse they can't say is how horrid the leveling and relic/stat system is in the game and is what would keep most players from enjoying or even reaching the endgame content in a reasonable amount of time, which could in turn produce an anxiety that you're missing out on content.
Having to time-gate your playerbase with unfun trials that they farm for months be the main replayability/grind in the game is pathetic.
The relic system is what ultimately got me to quit genshin. It made me feel almost nihilistic towards the game's future, because no matter what, no matter how many characters I get, no matter how leveled, how many constellations, weapon refinements, team comps I draft together, or even just straight time I sink into their game, you are ultimately held back by RNG relics and a game that keeps you from enjoying the full potential of your characters.
Anyways, im going to get back to enjoying simulated universe for the 400th time cause its fun as hell.
If they dont want player anxiety why not giving abyss 5 minutes on all floor instead of just 3 on higher level. Just a thought

They need challenging content that you can access at all power levels, and goes even further i.e. simulated universe from Honkai Star Rail. Players need something you can come back to weekly for rewards and a challenge. Simply adding or iterating on the spiral abyss isn’t the solution, it’s the bare minimum that should’ve been added ages ago.

Genshin definitely has a dedicated fanbase but not a fanbase that gives feedback cause that means something is wrong with their already "perfect'' game and also it brings out all sort of insecurities in them. The company realistically speaking will try to make the maximum possible amount of money with the minimum amount of brainwork and effort.
