    For my mothers memorial photo, do you think the ti leaf ribbon looks better than ribbon? I already bought the 1.3" royal blue ribbon for the $ flower ribbon lei. Thanks. Everyone loves your leis & Ive told lots of my fb group about your youtube channel.

    • @makeitmegan
      @makeitmegan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the royal blue ribbon will look beautiful. Using the ti leaf ribbon is the most realistic artificial lei I’ve done so it just depends on the finished look you are going for ♥️🌺

  • @TT-nw8tw

    What length of the ti leaf ribbon would be needed for one lei? The Amazon link has different yard length options.

    • @makeitmegan
      @makeitmegan  ปีที่แล้ว

      An adult lei needs 6-7 yards of the ti leaf ribbon

  • @fianterivera4355
    @fianterivera4355 ปีที่แล้ว

    Aloha Megan did you say I have to cut them 7" long and I need at least 80-90 strips? and the string is about 40 inches long.?

    • @makeitmegan
      @makeitmegan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the ti leaf ribbon is cut 7” long and then the width is cut into thirds and you need 80-90 of the individual pieces. Your string will need to be longer than 40 inches because of the weaving process. I usually cut mine 60-70 inches depending on the length I want my finished lei.

  • @luseanefunaki4355
    @luseanefunaki4355 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay I might be slow hahaha. When you sew are you piercing through the ti leaf ribbon? Or you said pierce through the twine, so pierce through the white ribbon instead of the ti lead ribbon? Haha sorry I was confused at that part.

    • @makeitmegan
      @makeitmegan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do both because of the placement of the flower. The twine is thicker than the ti leaf ribbon so I like to go through it at least once per flower. Sometimes if you go through the ti leaf ribbon and pull too hard it will rip through the ribbon.

    • @luseanefunaki4355
      @luseanefunaki4355 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay awesome thank you so much!!

    Do you heat the ends of the ribbon, so they don't fray?

    • @makeitmegan
      @makeitmegan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This ribbon has a plastic like texture so it doesn’t fray

  • @margaretmori4735
    @margaretmori4735 ปีที่แล้ว

    What length of time leaf ribbon is needed? Thanks.

    • @makeitmegan
      @makeitmegan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The specific ribbon I used needs 6-7 yards of ribbon for the lei. The 1.3” ribbon you will need about 16 yds.
