This entire scene made one thing irrevocably clear. Tim was a damn good TO. Lucy was lucky to be his Rookie. She held her own even when protective mode Tim offered her an escape route, she refused. She knew toegether they stood a better chance. They're both stubborn but brave and have integrity. They'll always have each others backs.
I agree Tim made her a great a cop! BUT, I gotta say, it ALSO wz Lucy. As Tim told her last yr, at James & Nyla's wedding reception, she wz a good cop & went on 2 say "Mayb 1 of the top 5 I've EVER trained." Aftr Caleb, at the end of a shift, T finds her boxing & says "U got no quit in u, do u boot?!" Lucy replies "No sir, I get it from u." Tim says "I don't think so. U walked in the door this way. Its what makes u so aggravating." L said "I'm taken that as a compliment." T says "It wz meant 2b." The reality is, on her 1st day, if it had bin Jackson or even Aaron, Tim or both likely wld've bin killed! The Captain chose 2 ride w/ her 1 shift, at 1 pt, Lucy ducked 2 not get punched, but the Captain wzn't prepared & got clocked & black eye. The end of shift L goes 2 apologize. The Captain said 2 her "Do u know why I asked 2 ride w/ u 2day?" She says "B/c u impress me, Officer Chen." But also says she had a lot 2 learn still. S1 whn the 3 Rookies were polygraphed, whn $200 K of the $$$ they'd guarded is missing, in the roll call rm Tim says 2 the oth TOs "No way its Chen cuz she wldn't hve gotten caught." It wzn't his ego. Bishop says "Its sounds like u're complimenting her?!" T just says "All I'm saying, she's smarter than them." Even her pranks, esp, whn she stole his $$, T told her she wz in so much trouble. As T wz teaching her, she needed 2 learn 2 think like a criminal & evry cop had 2 hve a little bit of an outlaw in them. He cld never stay mad, cuz part of him wz impressed. Albeit Harper & Lucy had a bit of a rough shift whn they were paired, whn they got attacked, Lucy got taken dwn & Harper had 2 take the guy dwn. If u're 2 survive these streets as woman & of color no less, u must learn what these boys don't know how 2 teach!" Of course by the end, whn L is alone w/ the suspect of a bombing that wz never caught, L used her flash lite 2 walk where the flr is worn, cuz she knew it wz the path, where there'd b no IEDS & ends up arresting & pushes him out the window in cuffs. H's impressed & he wz unable 2 set off a bomb. As hard as H wz on her 1/2 way thru the shift, Lucy told Harper she wanted 2b like her. L KNEW there were things, H could teach her that Tim cldn't! It does seem L thrived w/ tough TOs. By the end of shift Lucy tells Harper, she enjoyed working w/ her & H's friendly & says "Same here." She tells L she wz wrong & says "U got what it takes 'Not Nolan'." Harper can't help but smile whn L says "I know u know my name. I heard u call me Chen bk at the house." & asks if she can ask her questions from time 2 time. I think its inferred, Lucy took H's words seriously about fighting & worked all the more. I'll try 2 help even the odds from here, said a lot abt what they were facing. & Lucy I gotta say, Tim told Aaron that H's super power wz that she wz chameleon & had nerves of steel. Man, Lucy definitely showed that she has cont'd 2 grow & WOW she had NERVES of STEEL with that many attacking them!!! Together, yes, they were AMAZING!!! ♥️

And how far their partnership has become, its on a whole other level!! I wz watching the ep in S2 whn Harper & Lucy r partnered 2gether again. Lucy 1/2 way thru their shift, sudenly tells Harper she want 2 learn how 2 do the job, the way she does it!!! She sees that there's things that only Harper can teach her, that Tim cannot esp in terms fighting w/ male suspects!!!! I didn't realize til rewatching, albeit, it wzn't hand to hand combat, Lucy at the end, is ALONE w/ a desperate male suspect! He'd rigged the house w/ IEDS & Lucy has 2 yell at Harper of course 2 not come in!! Bosk knows he's bin caught & she tells H he's arming a 'big ass bomb.' But L asks him "How long ago did u rig the house?" Once he tells her its bin a decade, L uses her flash lite 2 look & c where the flr boards R worn & carefully, nervously takes each step 2 get 2 him & NOT hit an IED! Sudenly she's able 2 put her gun 2 his head, cuffs him, so he can't finish arming the bomb & tells him, they're going out the window & shoves him as Harper sudenly hears crashing & Lucy sudenly walking Bosk in cuffs!! Harper's shocked & impressed! Again at the end of shift, when H tells Lucy she's got what it takes, L asks her if she can ask her 4 advice from time 2 time. Their rel'ship started then. Harper knew & tells the rest, once they realize Caleb is Rosalind's prodigy & has abducted Lucy, H says Lucy is a fighter & she's gonna do whatever she can 2 stay alive til we can save her! Harper had only 1 day, 2 train Lucy 4 her 1st solo uc job. Harper tells her, she CAN'T 4 one sec let her guard down when she's UC! Grey's impressed & tells Harper she may've found her calling as a TO says "1st Nolan & now Chen." Tim wz equally impressed & tells her u took dwn 2 drug operations on ur 1st solo uc assignment!!! In Vegas, its ACTUALLY Tim who wz caught off guard when he answered the door! Lucy instincts kicked in & what she had learnt from Harper. She hving bin trained only by H at that pt, wz the 1 who WZN'T caught off guard & manages 2 beat the 1 guy & get his gun away from him & sudenly Lucy made an amazing shot & grazed 1 of the guy's heads which enabled Tim 2 kick 1 of the guys. Even in S3, whn Lucy went off on Stanton Lol!! 😂 Literally rite after telling Tim, we don't want 2 make things harder 4 Jackson. But Stanton says sumthing 2 Tim & sudenly Lucy loses it & tells Stanton, she's got a new hair take down, that she's bin dying to try!!!! Tim now has 2 get Lucy 2 walk away LoL😂 & says "What happened 2 let's not make things harder 4 Jackson?!" Lucy's 2 funny & says "Idk, I think I just got a testosterone contact high!!!" Suffice it to say, Lucy learnt how 2 fight better due to Harper!!! BUT, she also was gone for a month this season, when she completed the DEA Covert Operations Training Academy, which Grey said wz no small feet!!! And when Lucy wz recruited, she's told, her name keeps coming up! I rewatched the ep, of whn Lucy has 2 infiltrate a girl gang this S. Albeit its the only storyline of that ep, I liked or hve rewatched. Lopez & Harper hve 2 1st go 2 Grey abt it. I didn't recall that Grey is impressed when he mentions the gang but in short & she states immediately the full name of the gang & has knowledge of them. Lucy's shocked at how thin the file is considering the crimes they've done & Harper says how girl gangs aren't seen as a real threat when they are just as dangerous!!! Lucy replies "I'm a threat too!!!"

At times her & Tim would exchange glances BUT her facial expression was pretty strained. They were just worn out sitting on the steps w/ Nolan, when N is relaying that Bradford & Chen are secure & safe. Tim kept his hand on her knee. At one pt, I think Tim's & Lucy's heads were resting on each others'.
This is one of my favorite moments with the two of them. They have kinda been taking on the world together since day one and this scene is a great example of that.

I agree it was an AMAZING FINALE!!!! I'm a little curious how injured Lucy might be? I mean the last guy who came down the stairs, he was punching her in the ribs & wonder if she has any broken ribs. Then the guy kept getting his hands around her neck. I'm thinking she's gonna be really bruised!!! At the end, Tim & Lucy looked at eachother, somewhat distressed. I know she was a badass BUT I am wondering if she's gonna have some PTSD afterwards?! I'm SO glad she & Tim experienced it together!!! B/c Tim & Lucy are thinking about her work as a UC. But I do wonder if Tim might suddenly see some alarms going off after what she just endured!! I mean, Tim has been in combat b4 BUT what they went thru, when Nolan & Harper got there & u hear Nolan say "HOLY!" And then Harper suddenly says "Go. I'll try to even the odds from down her." Which were amazing shots!!!! BUT then when she calls control & at the end, calls it a mass casualty event.

High stress leads to much more basic decision making / falling back on training. Training says shoot centre mass, unfortunately centre mass was covered by a shield so didn't quite work

Damn this episode was probably the best of the entire show 🔥🔥🔥 The tension, Bailey and Nolan power couple 🔥, Chenford Power couple like they’re so dangerous when they’re together!!!!✨, and the cliffhanger at the end. I was like "WTF is happening right NOW !!! 😂
A villain, we saw his face but have no idea who he is, funded a low level criminal to hire these guys as a revenge against the LAPD so the villain can execute some kind of plan in season 6

If you watch closing in the beginning when they are in the hospital you can see the guy( new villain ) in the elevator!!!! I watched for a second time and just realized that!!
I thought the same, one of them could've kept shooting the shields so they don't lower them, and the other could've shot the legs, and bam, battle won 😊 but what do we know about it 😂♥
Likely due to a huge adrenaline dump caused by high stress leading to a defaulting to what they know (aka their training), training which says shoot centre mass and neutralise the threat asap.
Alright i have to point this out if you're standing in front of a group of men that are armed with ballistic Shields machetes and masks and you shoot at least between 5 and 10 shots and you don't see a single bullet go through and they just bounced off like that you better realize right then and there that your weapon is not going to do the job and you need to run for your life
I love Lucy but when she told tim she didn't need him to protect her after two fellow officers were almost killed made her seem so arrogant. And when she's telling him how to fight close quarters, he's trained in the military and metro. I feel they are starting to elevate her too much above him. He's ten years veteran..
Agreed, but I don't think this was about the fight, it was about how clouded his judgment might get when it comes to protecting her, like telling her to flee while he hold them off so she proposes a strategy to help them both ♥

Shooting someone in the leg in a high stress situation is extremely difficult. A leg is a relatively small target, especially if it's moving.

A villain, we saw his face but have no idea who he is, funded a low level criminal to hire these guys as a revenge against the LAPD so the villain can execute some kind of plan in season 6

@@jamiefletcher3186 the last scene in the episode depicts a distraction orchestrated by this new villain, and Elijah and April are not done yet, and there's Jeffrey Rosalind's latest apprentice, so we still have a lot to see in season 6 ♥
If you watch closing in the beginning when they are in the hospital you can see the guy( new villain ) in the elevator!!!! I watched for a second time and just realized that!!

Once you know the shields are presenting a problem, they should have been shooting them in the legs.
That's what were saying but maybe it was the heat of the moment ♥
Now I know for sure they are carrying airsoft pistols. No way those plastic shields would stop a real bullet.
My only thing was why did they keep shooting g the shields and not their freaking legs
I thought the same, one of them could've kept shooting the shields so they don't lower them, and the other could've shot the legs, and bam, battle won 😊 but what do we know about it 😂♥

Likely due to a huge adrenaline dump caused by high stress leading to a defaulting to what they know (aka their training), training which says shoot centre mass and neutralise the threat asap.

Alright i have to point this out if you're standing in front of a group of men that are armed with ballistic Shields machetes and masks and you shoot at least between 5 and 10 shots and you don't see a single bullet go through and they just bounced off like that you better realize right then and there that your weapon is not going to do the job and you need to run for your life

I love Lucy but when she told tim she didn't need him to protect her after two fellow officers were almost killed made her seem so arrogant. And when she's telling him how to fight close quarters, he's trained in the military and metro. I feel they are starting to elevate her too much above him. He's ten years veteran..
Agreed, but I don't think this was about the fight, it was about how clouded his judgment might get when it comes to protecting her, like telling her to flee while he hold them off so she proposes a strategy to help them both ♥
