Lizzy!! Amazing job - your voice is simply angelic!! Humble thanks for watching the reaction and I'm so glad you liked it!! Can't wait to hear more of you! ✌🏽
Great reaction and the note from Liz is a sweet bonus. Earlier this week Peter Barber did a Zoom interview with Laine, it runs about an hour and is well worth watching, so many unasked questions get answered, many of about this very video.
Great reaction! I haven't seen this in quite a while. It's SO creative! And the 'visiting vocalist' was perfection on those staccato hi notes! Channeling Queen of the night. And Layne's antics?? This is a classic that doesn't get the credit it deserves. Thanks for rekindling it for me!
I just saw your reaction to rob in Austin singing opera. Probably the most iconic pairing of Opera is Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe. Long story short they collaborated in 1988 on a piece that was supposed to be the theme song of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Montserrat was from Barcelona. She was the first person that a Freddy told that he was sick. He told her he would not be around to sing at the 92 Barcelona Olympics. And sadly he passed in 1991 may his name be for blessed memory. Barcelona, which is actually about him meeting monserrate, long story there. Golden Boy and how can I go on. They were such a success that other musicians contacted her to collaborate with. She said that her collaboration with Freddy was so special she would not repeat it with any other musician. The passion the enjoyment the respect the love the friendship is clearly evident when they sing together
I am always here for Geoff and Voiceplay. This was just wonderful! Because Voiceplay has no label or manager, they can do whatever they want. Layne and Geoff usually trade off month to month on the arrangement. Whichever does the arrangement usually handles the storyboard, production, editing, costume and makeup design. Eli has been doing their lighting and effects for several years now. They are absolutely brilliant!! And they have a new one dropping this coming Friday, just so ya know!
I agree - this was really the best rendition of the song I think I've ever heard!! Love the creativity these guys have, too. Thanks for the heads up on Friday - I have it marked on the calendar! ✌🏽
Layne is the beatboxer and the other guy is Cesar De La Rosa who takes the lead in I can’t make you love me which is so emotional and beautiful ❤🏴
A lot of fun and showing off their versatility. The guy you mentioned is Cesar de la Rosa, VoicePlay's newest full member. I hope you'll ckeck out Geoff's I See Fire. It's stunning.
This is a great example of why they are called the theater kids of acapella! I feel like their cover needs an addition to the title. Something like In the Hall of the Mountain King Layne got drunk. Lol.
You REALLY need to check out their covers of 'Seven Nation Army' and their newest, 'In the Air Tonight' which totally blew my mind. Geoff does seriously amazing solo work. He just came out with 'I See Fire'. Just wow. One of my favorites of his is 'Sixteen Tons'.
Awesome reaction Jeremy. This is one of my favorites of theirs. Cesar was in the back. He's a baritone. Layne is the beatboxer. They were trolls around a Cauldron throwing in stuff to improve their singing voices. Layne threw a carrot which made all of them disappear. One ofLayne's nicknames is "Carrot Lord" that goes back to 2018 when former member J None joined. Layne used to tease J with carrots. And still does. The last time was when they filmed Valhalla Calling.
I always enjoy your comments, (Ren, Dimash) so (finally) subscribed. VoicePlay is one of my favorite groups, so delighted to see you here again - and this is one of my favorites of their always-wonderful performances. The beatbox is Layne Stein, who was also the primary arranger (Geoff added his syncopated section) and did the video. Eli (you pronounced it right) did the lighting and took lead in direction on this one. Elizabeth Zharoff (Charismatic Voice) coined the term 'burp-boxer' for Layne after hearing this. Their cover of Tennessee Whiskey is another completely different performance - and stunning. But anything you choose to watch will be great. No such thing as a meh performance on their channel.
By the way.... Update... Voiceplay released their new video on their patreon a week ago. It should be on TH-cam next Friday. J None is back in this one. Geoff Castelucci premiered his new video this Friday.... I See Fire. He brought the 4 dwarves that were with him in Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold he did a year ago. Both from the Hobbit movies.
obviously, like others, I have to tell you that you need to rabbit hole Voiceplay. They are known as the Theater Kids of acapella and this one is much more like their earlier videos. They did a lot of stuff from Nightmare Before Christmas. Most of their music is arranged and/or engineered by Geoff and Layne (beatboxer). They take turns. The guy who looks like Zeke is Cesar De La Rosa.
@@musikbyjh thank you for another great reaction to Voice Play. In the very beginning Eli ( high tenor ) comes out holding a carrot & was going to put it in the pot but Lizz plucked it out of his hand. She knew what would happen if he did. But at the end Layne ( beatboxer / percussionist ) through his carrot in the pot & sure enough they all disappeared. Layne is known as The Carrot Lord. He always has a Carrot in his hand their fun videos.
You love VoicePlay but you haven't done any reactions to Geoff Castellucci's covers. He has done two Dwarf songs from The Hobbit. "Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold and the newest one released on Friday "I See Fire". He has more than twenty videos on his Low Bass covers channel.
@@musikbyjh just a note: Geoff does use musical accompaniments in his works. And he almost always arranges for four or five part harmonies, singing all the parts himself, and creating a video clone of himself so that each line is actually sung by a “Geoff”. Misty Mountains has always been my favorite because I am a Tolkien van and it is so beautiful and soothing. But his new one is a step above. You really good good idea of how amazing his range is. Either way I look forward to you covering more of VoicePlay and some Geoff as well. I have no musical training, so the inside to provide a really helpful to me so that I can figure out why I enjoy it so much.
Hey Ida-Christine! Thanks so much for watching!! I'll add Halo to the list. I do have a VoicePlay playlist, but perhaps I need to re-order my home page to make easier to find (currently under "Artist Reactions". If it's not too much trouble, please tell me where you "look" for the playlists, that will help me make it better. Thanks again and here's the VP playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLYrkTp-j9yanO09upZLxwk0f-_DpIr0v5.html&si=bId4rVOgVgz61v7Z

Every time they added something to the cauldron, tempo or style changed.

After watching this video I never think of the original song without laughing
LOL!! Sorry, not sorry? LOL!! We like making you laugh. ❤️,🥷🏻

This is so creative and imaginative! Nobody but VoicePlay could pull this off!

Hahaha. That’s hilarious! This was just great! They’re wildly talented.
I feel like a kid again when I watch this thank you ❤

Of course the 🥕took them out! 😂😂 Look for carrots in their funnier videos. It often makes an appearance. They are so creative

Please don't insult Ceasar like that😂😂😂 but I can see it also 😂😂. Loved the reaction ❤
Voiceplay just released their covers of "Seven Nation Army" & "Creep". Would love to hear your reactions!
