Hi! Thank you so much for your fun reaction!!! You HAVE heard me with VoicePlay on Frozen2, Greatest Showman, and Just Sing! This was a super fun song to do with them!! 💜😈
@Elizabeth Garozzo, you have a phenomenal voice and are absolutely gorgeous! It has been so much fun watching this on Patreon. Next time you collaborate with Voiceplay, maybe they will give you some high notes to sing. 😉😉😉
Oh wow, Elizabeth, it's an honor to have you here in the comment section!🙏 Was super impressed by your performance! I will have to catch up on the other songs you mentioned, haven't seen those yet! It looks like so much work but so much fun at the same time!
@Ilona you mean to tell me those high notes I mentioned in this video aren't even considered high for Elizabeth? Very intriguing! I surely will have to check out more then!
Hi guys, this is a pretty late upload for today but I hope you don't mind. Subtitles aren't generated yet but I'll enable them as soon as they are! :D Thx for the support, I hope you enjoy the video! 🙂
It took roughly an hour to an hour and a half for each makeup. Rick Underwood (Layne and Eli) and Renette Feren (Geoff, Cesar, and Elizabeth) did an amazing job of design, application, and maintenance of the makeup through the whole day of shooting the video. Not to mention cleaning everyone up afterwards.
I believe all Scandinavian children hear this music at least once in school. Often used to introduce kids to classical music. Well, now there's a great visual as well. Will get any kid hooked on Grieg.
There are quite a few clips of them performing live to be found on TH-cam. From what I have seen they do not wear costumes on stage. A good one is Grim Grinning Ghosts ... an old one but when you compare to the recording you really get an appreciation for how good they are.
It was great to see you enjoy and appreciate this so much. I remember from some of Geoff’s chats that he met Elizabeth at Disney where she performed with Voices of Liberty . I believe he also performed in that show although it may not have been at the same time. The contrast between her gorgeous high notes and then Geoff’s low notes is amazing. And the shenanigans going on! It’s so funny that they tried to prank Layne and he got back at them. That Cesar - you could just tell he was up to no good. Eli has been frightening in some of the other videos but he upped his game and this one. He’s pretty menacing.
Yeah, Geoff's first note was already freakishly low and it was an F#1... in chest voice !!! You're right at 5:12 , he goes even lower, starting from an F#1 then going E1, D1 and C#1 in his subharmonic register. Geoff is always so agile with his lower registers (chest/chest-fry, subs, growls,...) and I'm all here for it 😊
@@YBPlaysMusic He's been working on it. He has age in his favor, as most bassists don't start to bottom out until their forties and fifties, so he's just coming into his own in his lower range. I'm glad he isn't just relying on his access to his sub harmonic range to reach down but is stretching his chest range downward. It is much more versatile in terms of tone. Listen to him on "Sixteen Tons" when he says, "The store boss said, Well Bless my soul". He did the whole song in chest so on the second part of that line, he can make it sound lower by darkening the tone, giving it more character. Subs are great but tonally one-note. Loving your reactions, (and the outtakes are too funny!)!
Voice play ist the only Accapella Band thT put this much Effort in to Videos. The Make up Artists. I have to say there are, the absolutely at there best. This song is so much fun . Especially with no Words. As always Schapo . A Bow from me . ❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, the song itself is very well known, one of those ones that sounds familiar to nearly everyone, even if they don't know what it's called; Windows 95 OSR2 actually included a MIDI version of it on the install CD (along with Passport and several other well-known tunes); and it shows up in various other places too. VoicePlay's version is something special, though; I'm going to have to listen to it a Whole Lotta times.
Oh wow, Callie, that is awesome to hear! I really appreciate the continued support! That almost 1,5 years ago😁 And thank you! It wouldn't be possible withour you guys!
I discovered this channel through the video reacting to Jonathan Yong - I See Fire. I'm really enjoying your interpretations and having fun along with your facial expressions. I'd like to see Geoff's "House Of The Rising Sun" and "High And Dry" react. It would be amazing if the two of them worked together on a song, they're both really good with their bass notes.
two months later - I'm a costumer....I agree with months. I started on a HA April 2022 and just finished it Wednesday. That was one of the longer time, the longest I've worked on any single piece is 2 years, 4 months....it's uh...still not done. But I'm guessing voiceplay has an entire department and don't have to wait that long >.< I'd love to know where they got those...
Man, first time seeing your content, love it! Good ear and eye for detail :D You might want to fix your description, its saying this is your reaction to Voiceplay's "I can't make you love me" 😅
During the 'burp' section, it is reminiscent of the group Spike Jones and the City Slickers, from the 40's and 50's.......check them out on TH-cam.....you will see what i mean....lol......>^^
@@janetdw i have a lot of Spike Jones' recordings, and some dvds about his life....they like Layne,....'do'....vocal fill, when there is lull in the music....>^^
Thx for the info, guys! I didn't know about the Spike Jones & City Slickers, looked it up and indeed, I understand what you mean! I see why it reminded you of them!
Don't think that this is possible in a live performance. They record their singing in their studios, then mix and do the post-production. THEN do the videos with playback. They sing while being filmed x-times ... to make it real. But what we hear in the videos is the sound produced long before. Same with every music produced in the studios. Due to the lockdowns they stopped playing live. And I fear, they won't start again. The world is their stage now.

Layne loves using the carrot.
Love the additions to the pot changing the sounds, the tempo. Layne's carrot! Layne's burpboxing! Liz has a great voice!

Could be! And that'd be a great idea I think indeed, it makes it more fun definitely!😜
Can confirm, am scandinavian child, heard this quite a few times in my childhood
And I did it already at school - the kids liked it a lot!!
You may recognize Eli's coat/fur from "My Mother Told Me" and Geoff's "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold " 🙂
Thx for the info, Karen! Didn't really recognize it. Haven't seen "My Mother Tolde Me" but I have reacted to "Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold".

Yeah, it really did sound lower than ever, didn't it? I guess my ears didn't deceive me :p Me neither, can't get enough of that! ;p

Great reaction, thanx for jumping on so quickly!! Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff!
Oh thx so much, Ilona! Meanwhile, if you haven't seen them yet, I got quite a couple of reactions to both Voiceplay and Geoff for you to check out😁

Exactly, it was the same in my case!
And yes, this really is a special version, I agree! :)
Congratulations. Seems like I just watched the 10 k celebration. Been here since had 2k.

great reaction to this classical piece!
Thx Jessica, appreciate it!
I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff on their videos that would be really difficult to reproduce onstage. Loved this reaction-and the outtakes!!
I think so too! And Thx, glad you enjoyed it! :D
You are so knowledgeable. Thank you for the interesting information!

Glad you like it!

can i say how much i am getting sonic the hedgehog sega game vibes at 2:36 to 2:46
The problem with such make-up is that prostetics can really alter your sound production. Like Geoff's nose would change the nasal resonance
I like your reaction.
I can clearly see you like bass, go check out Tomi P he is amazing.
