That's cement lake, it's private property owned by gcc, and it's contaminated with arsenic and lead from desert mountain run-off being concentrated in a basin. Brain eating amoebas are also a concern because it's stagnant freshwater that is unmanaged and not connected to the river. That's why the game wardens run you off, nobody cares about the trespassing but they don't want you in the water for liability reason. The water isn't safe for recreation or fishing. It is sampled routinely by environmental technicians.

I haven't been there for many many years. But I believe you go on execitive and turn in towards the water treatment plant. You stick to the road on the left and drive behind the plant. I believe that road will take you to the small lake.
I believe there is another way in off of racetrack drive. But you will need a 4x4 to drive up what appears to be about a 15 foot or so dirt road thats got a really steep incline.

Wow i never knew this lake even existed as this was so cool to see !! Just a fun fyi ... back in the 1980's there was a man made lake on the far east side out by Horizon City called 'Mountain Shadow Lakes' that allowed swimming, jet skiing, picnic areas etc. and yet sadly it eventually closed down (water permit?) and became desert land again.
