Roxy was lost in the third stratum of the laberynth, and her situation was a LOT more desperate in the novels She has been lost wondering trough the laberynth for over a month, she cant advance as fast as she woud like becouse she is a mage, and when she gets low on mana she neds to retreat and rest for half a day just ro recover a portion of her mana, and some cyrcles teleport you to a random location in the same stratus of the laberynth she allready eate all her rations and had to eat the monsters, you know... tarantulas and those catherpillers called Iron crawllers so you can imagine how dreadfull was the taste let allone the poison, she had to use detox magic, thankfully she can create her own whater supply, it was so bad that all her liffe Flashed beffore her eyes LItherally, Roxy was in a really really bad place mentally emotionaally and phisiclly speaking and then a Dashing young man came to her rescue from Certain death, It looked like something straight out of her maiden fantasies
Last sentence perfectly describes how she did get her dream after all SPOILERS FOR UPCOMING EPISODES Also, I loved how the state she’s in is so similar to the state Rudy is about to be; not only that but Roxy becomes what Rudy became for her, both saving eachother

Some aspects are really good (like the magic system) while others are shit (religion & economy) while others are barely passable (the magical races) and others decent (politics) The one thing this story does well beyond compare is how well written, complex, and realistic its characters are.
They cut a lot of world building, but rudy wanting to touch elinalise's butt, THAT NEEDS TO STAY. Roxy pissing herself isn't even in the source, it's actually anime original. Interesting choice to add that while cutting out a lot huh.
@@gil749 Rudeus was under the influence of a succubus when he did that. The story actually puts a lot of focus on the temptation for both of them throughout the whole month of travel. So they actually played it down, but the temptation was there. I don't see the pissing as sexual.
It even took a moment for Geese to recognize Rudeus. It's very safe to assume Roxy didn't recognize him, as the last time they met, Rudeus was just a 5 year old kid. Also not to mention Roxy is in a very extreme mental state at that point. She likely just thought a handsome guy happened to show up to save her in time, the only person who is happy with the reunion is Rudeus in that frame.
Well there is the whole thing where Roxy was supposed to meet the love of her life by being saved in a dungeon. I don’t remember if it was a fortune told to her but she’s to type to be a very naive romantic

4:17 this is actually wrong, it's been more than 6 months. It had been 6 months between him sending the letter and it getting to Rudeus (and the other copy to Elinalise as well). Rudeus was agonizing over it for like 4 days, so it should've been a week after getting the letter that he left, then it took a little over a week to get to the teleportation circle, another week to get to Bazaar, and then a month from Bazaar to Rapan. So, it's actually been nearly 8 months since Geese sent the letter, but the anime fucked that up. 6:58 this was supposed to be a bit longer. Paul was actually half asleep still, and Rudeus mentioning that Paul was soon to be a grandfather is what got his attention and snapped him out of it, realizing that he wasn't dreaming and Rudeus was actually there. Rudeus starts to continue talking, but Paul's like "hold up, what do you mean a child on the way?" 16:11 there's a whole bit that was cut here where Elinalise tells Paul that Sylphy is her granddaughter, and Paul storms over to Rudeus to ask if she's gone crazy, and Rudeus also tells him that the two are related. Law's name (Sylphy's father) is also brought up again.
funny thing is, the LN also said the same thing. So the anime didn't fucked that up, issues comes from the source material. And yes, it is indeed some kind of error because the dated he received from geese was dated 6 months ago. The only possible explanation is that either geese sent another letter

In the original Japanese text, Geese doesn't specifically say 6 months, he says 半年 which can mean 6 months if you're being exact, but actually means "half a year." Also, going back and actually listening to the voice line in the anime, he also says "hantoshi" there as well. So yea, this is more of a case of bad translation.

Travel from Bazaar to Rapan was about 3-4 weeks, so Elinalise would have to hit snooze on her at some point soon. 7:45 Kinda fitting how Rudeus was essentially the trigger for their fued and how Rudeus' influence on Elinalise got her to forgive Paul so easily as he's apologized thanks to Rudeus' influence. She's nursed that grudge for over seventeen years. 10:00 is everyone gonna miss this? 15:25 that cutlass is in use earlier than in the novels. Guess it makes sense now that he knows what's waiting for them deeper in the labyrinth. It has the same property as Luke's sword: the harder the thing it's up against, the sharper it cuts it. It was sold for a pittance since it couldn't cut through a loaf of bread. Paul understood that it was the sort of blade that cuts steel like butter. 19:50 that's the result of Rudeus' souped-up Frost Nova. Roxy can cast it and ice over the surface of everything in the AOE, but Rudueus freezes everything to the core. In the drama CD, he even managed to give Geese a frosting... It's interesting how tokens of all three heroines are in the scene. Roxy herself is there, obviously, but Rudeus also bears the staff Eris got him and the robe Sylphie picked out for him.

elinalese and rudeus are like 15 cm taller than their character models would lead you to believe. But what I'm most dissapointed is all the scenes they skipped in order to rush to the end. I feel like I'm watching a lazy re enactment of a show on speed dial.
I think they mostly did a good job, thank god they included the private conversation between Rudeus, Lilia and Paul, that one was in a big danger of getting cut. Sadly the Tallhand and Elinalise reunion was skipped, let's hope we get Roxy's perspective next chapter
If you're gonna call season 2 a "lazy reenactment" for cutting a lot of things you should also call season 1 the same. Have you read the volumes season 1 adapted or did you start with volume 7? They did the same thing of cutting a lot of stuff like POVs, worldbuilding and character development for pacing reasons, like for example half of volume 5 was completely skipped in order to give TP2 more time, which caused anime only people to miss key events like the encounter with Zenith's sister Therese and the dinner they had with Paul and co. The only difference is that the animation is just above average now instead of movie-tier, so people are less forgiving with it

They did cut a lot, but it was mostly worldbuilding stuff. And they emphasised the temptation between Rudeus and Elinalise.
And thatis the problem, the worldbuilding is everithing in this serie, roxy, eris, silphie and sometimes ludeus are the worst aspects of the novels
