- Little by little, the fall decor is spreading from room to room. In today's video I am going to share how I decorated our cozy New England dining room for fall and a few fall thrift shop finds. I will also be sharing the delivery of a beautiful piece of furniture for our bedroom and some work out in the gardens.

Love the window seat in your dining room; I have one in my bedroom that my cat enjoys as he lays on his afghan covered pillow & shares with a small wooden plant stand with plants. Yes, he does not bother the plants.

I love your home. I had built a reproduction colonel saltbox in NH in 1986, I absolutely loved that home. I also built an estate home in Hollis NH. I now live in the South with my husband. When you had mention that you need to cut back your hydrangeas don't cut them back to the ground. I learned if you cut them all the way back, they will not flower the following spring/summer. Maybe you know this, but I had learned the hard way.
I'm a symmetrical person so I appreciate your bedroom. It's so calming. Love the new centerpiece, love the hurricane candles, love the china and love Willow! And the fact that you managed to get some gardening done before an anticipated storm...well you're Superwoman! Oh, and gotta love UPS and a dog bone ;)
Hi, Linda: That is an interesting concept of "single tasking." I can't remember the last time I focused on only one thing at a time. I have to give a lot of credit to people who can do this. I know I can't!! Life is so busy and it's hard to keep up, which I realize is the point of single tasking. I do take time for myself to read or craft and that is when I slow down. But during the day, I'm full speed ahead!! I have a better sense of satisfaction when I'm working on multiple projects at once. It feels very freeing to be able to switch things up. I also get too burnt out when I work on one thing for a long period. When I can come back to something, I have more energy to finish it up and I feel refreshed. I guess everyone has to work at their own pace and do what is best for them. Thanks for taking your viewers along for a genuine day-in-the-life. It's real and it is interesting to be a part of.
I totally agree! I prefer multi-tasking. I find I get bored easily.

I absolutely love this channel but never more than I do at this time of year! All things autumn, Thanksgiving, Christmas and winter! New England is just everything in these months and I love seeing what Linda gets up to. Her home is nice but her land is what I can’t peel my eyes away from. My goodness…just stunning!

I REALLY needed to hear the "single tasking" comment. I have been going non stop for years now, just had to because of life. But now I need to slow down. I am starting my own business and its been hard "multi tasking" but I need to single task now so I don't burn myself out. Thank you

Linda, I must say I so enjoy your videos. You remind me so much of myself. I start one thing and then see something and go off doing that. Becoming a single tasker has helped me so much! Same amount of projects, but I feel each is done with more intention and fulfillment and thoughtfulness. And, amazingly, more kindness. Will it last…? Who can say?
LOVE the new piece for the bedroom! What do you clean and polish your new and antique wood furniture with? Also, what are the dimensions of your kitchen table, if you please? Having a heavy custom wood table for an eat in kitchen/work table custom made instead of an island in our new home we are building and it looks like the perfect size (length, width, height). One more thing… who does Linda Davis enjoy watching on TH-cam?
Linda, my husband and I are headed to New England late next week (end of September) for my first ever tour of New England. It has been a dream of mine for years to see the fall foliage up North. We live in Dallas, Texas where there aren’t many trees, and never much of a fall. I think we are going to hit all of the New England states. Please tell me we will be able to see the stunning colors of fall by that time! I understand it isn’t something you can set a calendar by, but seeing you pick up those fallen leaves gave me hope…🤞🏻

You could do white lattice panels to hide the air conditioner/heat fans and let beautiful blue and scarlet morning gllories grow there. (I plant Rhett (blue) and Scarlett varieties in memory of epic Gone with the Wind movie.)

The master bedroom seems big enough for a corner gas fireplace. You could angle the wing chairs facing opposite each other with a small round table for a private breakfast or evening snack together. I would stick with your long awaited "dream vision board" ...and get linen or canvas chair covers that you could launder easily.

I loved my Fall in a box . I made a cup of tea , relaxed and enjoyed opening it . I think prepay is a great idea for the Christmas or Winter box. But probably more than 100 will want the box . I could do either way . I was home last time and was able to order the box . I just did some Fall decorating .I so much enjoy your videos

What a fabulous job on that area you cleaned up😅! I lived in Bartlett, NH MANY years ago on a smaller piece of property than Sugarwood. I remember only too well that the care and upkeep was both a joy AND at times a daunting task. Keep trying your new simplified way of approaching your lists. Eventually you will have success, however much you really desire, and not multitasking so much as you have in the past. Have a good week Linda. Oh, BTW, wasn’t it lovely someone left you that note? Perhaps a small thing to some but I believe it is small things that stay with us.
I wouldn’t worry about the garden. It needs a season to grow into its own and see how it wants to spread before you decide. My sister always keeps cutting at her garden and it never looks mature but forced back. I really like the way you garden is growing and stretching out its roots and arms.
