I am from Atlanta, and we have an old-timey fried catfish and hushpuppies fish camp about an hour outside of Atlanta. Eat-all-you-want. The server brings a bowl of hushpuppies to each table. They have fantastic fried okra, too. This place is also known for its barbeque. Super super super good fish camp !
Our favorite restaurant in the Smokies! We always order the catfish with remoulade sauce. It is delicious. We discovered this jewel many years ago. Everything we have tried is great, but the white chocolate bread pudding is a must have dessert.
We lived on Bayou LaFourche in Cajun Country for three years! We LOVE PawPaw's! The food is great! We eat there every time we are visiting the Smokies! We plan to be there the last of part of October/first part of November!
My husband is from New Orleans and I'm from Mississippi. Live in Ohio now. Miss good Southern food. Going to be coming down in Nov. Definitely going to have to try it. I love fried catfish and a good Roast Beef Po-boy on real French Bread is one of my hubby's favorites.
We Love Pawpaws Catfish!!! I had the Catfish Basket and Wayne had the Shrimp PoBoy and they were excellent! Hot and Fresh and the Best we ever ate! We also had Gg there and was going to order to go and they let him in (he was in his stroller like Big T’s! Three times eating there and all three times it was Excellent!!! And the employees are also very friendly and nice ❤
Friday's Forever ... I've been by PawPaw's many times as I have driven through Wears Valley, but never have stopped to eat. Guess there's a first time for everything! I will be eating there in October! The little "hole in the wall" restaurants are often overlooked but serve the best food. Mike ... like you, I DO NOT want anything in my hush puppies; just a normal, plain hush puppy. Thank you Mike & Karen for the video!
You might consider getting there at opening as it's not that big inside - they do have outside seating. Thanks for watching and we know you will have a great time in the Smokies. Our pleasure William.
Not sure bout the roast beef at a fish place,, but I’d go with the fish basket probably,,, your wife has the most southern voice ,,,enjoy listening to her describe the meals,,,,,,,, Y’all enjoy!!
Our favorite restaurant in the area! I don't mind the corn but nothing else in them. The bread pudding there is excellent also! Very rich but fantastic.
The catfish looks very yummy. My husband caught catfish in hoops and he was known at church for his fish frying. He's been eating fish with Jesus for 12 years and people are still talking about his catfish.
My in-laws came in from Tx for a vacation. They have lived in La several years ago. I sent them your video of this location. We just all went and his was absolutely wonderful. Thanks for the video, review and recommendation.
We accidentally stumbled upon them when it snowed last and where we were going the other place was closed. It was so good, super friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean and nicely priced. Oh and delicious!! I got the Catfish Acadiana and some of the Boudin Balls. Yummy, yummy, yummy. Thanks for making me drool. LOL God bless! ☺️
The fish basket looked yummy! We've passed by there many times while traveling through wears valley. We'll definitely give it a try next visit! Thanks Mike and Karen!
We enjoyed this video because we are from New Orleans. I had to laugh when you commented on the corn in the hush puppies. Most restaurants put corn in their hush puppies here. Take care. 😂😊
Hey Mike and Karen glad to see that y'all are out enjoying life and sharing this video with us TH-camrs I'm like you Mike I don't want corn in my hush puppies but the food look really good till next video God bless
I’ve wanted to try this place for years. Most of the time I couldn’t catch it open. Will be staying in Gatlinburg next week, but Wears Valley is my favorite place in the Smokies.
Thanks for the awesome review! Everything looked really good. Cajun food is delicious! We’ll for sure have to give this place a try next time we’re there for a visit.
That Catfish looked delicious. I always think of shrimp when I think Po'Bo. I can't believe that we haven't eaten there yet. Definitely will check it out soon.
Not too far from there, there is a great place to get some really good kettle corn! The guy who makes & sells it is named Paul - he knows how to make it just right. He is located right next to Mountain Brother's General Store.
living in louisiana all my life in cajun land i can say the food is great here. being transported from north louisiana to south louisiana my mom had a real cajun friend--MRS. ANN PRADOS-- who taught mom some cajun cooking. condiments are not needed with moms cooking. no tauter sauce or ketchup required. those were the days.
We came close to trying that place last visit. I think we ate left overs instead from Five Oaks. We spent more time in Wears Valley and Townsend this trip which was nice.
Thank y'all for going here! We have driven by several times, just unsure about the food...but now we know. Looks fresh, and delicious. Think we may stop on our next trip for sure. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I've lived in the deep south most of my life (Louisiana and Mississippi) that looks like the real deal!! Everybody has the own recipe for hush puppies! Lol 😆
Enjoyed the review- as always 😊...( also have nothing but respect for your prayers over the meal)... would also like to see ya'll do a video on something a little "different"....THIS Sat the Southeast Gassers are gonna be at Knoxville Dragway....this retro drag is like stepping back in the sixties ✌...would love live to see Mike & Karen's reaction as these vintage racers bring the front end of the ground at the starting line 🤯....it's also WORTH the price of admission to hear the opening prayer & National Anthem...come out & see these examples of rolling Americana before they become "EXTINCT"...God Bless Y'all & Gid Bless America 🇺🇸 🙏 ➕ 🏁
Looks like a unique place for a great meal..as far as the hush puppies go, I don’t mind onions in mine..but overall, do prefer them plain. Bridges bbq in Shelby puts tiny bits of onion in theirs.. Enjoyed the vlog once again😊
Second food review on this eating place, both plus. Other review was bye John and Bobbie. Food looked good both times. i just can’t go all the bread on the sandwich even though i do love some good bread. Thanks for going and trying this restaurant. God bless and take care
i just ate there wednesday the 5th of july and it was fantastic. the place was pretty busy as it was lunch time but we did not have to wait long. food was very hot, freshly cooked, no heat lamps here!! the staff was very friendly. i have to say, i disagree about putting corn in the hush puppies. those were some of the best hushpuppies i ever had, the only complaint i have is there were only two of them!! i had the catfish basket and ended up taking half of it back to the hotel and eating it later. it was a really good meal.
Hey Mike and Karen I see y'all went eat at Popo's Catfish Kitchen wasn't that food great to eat from New Orleans take it from me you said you couldn't realize analyze or whatever about the Cajuns I'm a true Cajun food there is awesome

Is it similar to huck Finn’s?
In some ways but both have a different experience.

Same here Michael. Thanks for the comment.
