Yes, this. many people waste 4 or 8 farm spots because the game doesn't tell you that, if you don't pick cannibalism, farms are the best way to get food and missing 8 farms is a huge waste of space.
4:12 you can move everything including the farm plots. When you click on the workbench i think its X says edit building, it allows you to move or delete all buildings. So if you need to move or remove a plot for a scarecrow you can.
One thing: Offering statues are AMAZING, but in bulk. One or two doesn't do much, but offering statues will give you just so much useful stuff, especially in mid-game
3:50 also if you cannot afford to feed all your followers, get the feast and the grass eater doctrine. The feast completely refills hunger, and the grass meals are pretty cheap.
Also I noticed the path leading to Clauneck always has these little moon/star ornaments hanging over the path, so always go that way first so you can go into the next fight with another buff.
Another tip it's the missionary building. I keep sending useless cultists and they bring a good amount of loot. Perfect if you need more materials and level 2 can make them bring special materials you make on forges. Except gold bars. Also, if they die I don't feel bad for them. That is why I always pick the worst to send on missionary missions. Really useful if you can rush it.
The fast ritual is very op on starting out the game, you can stock pile on some food while your cult is fasting because you said so. Plussss it keeps the place clean for most of the time
hey, if you really want to play with rerolling your buildout at the beginning of a run using Omnipresence, you can use your first talisman on the Fleece of Fates, which gives you 4 random tarot cards at the start of every run. You can essentially just keep rerolling until you get a zealous weapon and fervour's harvest right at the beginning of the dungeon.
You dont need to leave a space for the farm. You can just move a single plot of the farm out of the way to get a good placement for your farm-assitant items.
Surprised resurrection is not mentioned, expensive with a long cool-down (there are upgrades to cut this by 50%), but when you resurrect a follower you preserve their levels and I think any items equip. Easily ways to grow the power of your followers.
@@Gon.Freecss sort of, they are able to live as long as anyone else again, but I think in their follower stats their true age is displayed as well as how long they have been a member of the colony. I think I've had follows display their age up to 87- 95 years old after several resurrections.

@@MisterK-YT Honestly? probably not worth it. Ideally you would use it to keep a colonist with good positive traits/ no negative traits, and buff them with good necklaces for harvesting or prayer. A colony of super colonists. But in reality, you almost never get a colonist with no negative traits and you would never not get a colonist or remove a colonist if they had negative traits. I think in the super late game this may have benefit, but at that point your base is so optimized it does not really matter.
The fisherman at the lighthousw sells you fish for 10 (once you finish fishing for him). The lobster and squids start at 20 when you sell them at the chest. I've been using that for money ever since.
If you’re running low on gold coins and haven’t used the refinery much. You probably have a lot of gold nuggets that you’ve accumulated but haven’t used. You can convert these into gold coins which you can later make into gold bars.
Maybe it wasn't available at the time of the making of this video but now you can always edit buildings at a later point and change their positions or destroy them (except for graves).

I’m my opinion, I think the white fleece is the best. At the beginning of a run, you get 4 tarot cards. Sometimes you get really good combos, and other times not the best… so if you don’t get good ones you can go back with omnipresence and get even better draws.
The fish(erman) at the docks sells fish for 10 coins each. Lobster , squid and octopus sell for 20 gold each in the red chest. Yes, the price goes down after a while, but if you keep buying those sea creatures and selling them in the red chest, you can make a good amount of profit each time until the price to sell reaches 10 or less :)
You can edit the placement of all buildings whenever you want (even the spot of soil). So, There is no need to micromanage the placement of buildings and farms.
one more to add. At the beginning of the game, you'll run through a few prerequisite tutorial-esque missions and eventually you'll be told to build your church building (forgetting what it's called lol). You'll notice that there is no day or night timer. You should also have about 3 followers by this point. Since time isn't passing and your followers won't get hungry, it's a good idea to set all your followers to worship at the shrine. Meanwhile you can clear your land or literally just afk inspiration for as long as you want. There's honestly no point in sitting there so long that you unlock everything but it's super useful for unlocking up to tier 2 cult. However, I took one for the team and actually let the game sit and level me up. You absolutely can max out your levels and unlocks this way. Personally, I'm curious if that was intentional or not. Either way, I hope they fix it and refuse to allow tier 2 to unlock until 1 sermon is given rather than the building being built.

about the farms. Two things. Frist you dont need to put the seed or fertilizer box inside the farm area. They will go to the box to supply all farms no mater where put them. And second you could always use the Edit Building option to move plots to make space to put the scarecrow down.
I don’t know if this works, but maybe if you have a follower with a really annoying, difficult or quest you cannot complete, it might let you sacrifice them then bring them back to life to get ride of it.
To add, since the game doesn't let you destroy structures, you can use edit structure in the build menu and move things around when they are misplaced.
From as far as I can tell with Omniprescence it does work but it also eats up a chunk of time which can be something worth considering. Definitely essential though. Some of the weapons I just do not like especially early in the game before you get better upgrades. Great tips.

It's definitely a bug on the switch version but it really sucks! The only work around I've found is to lock people up and take the hit to faith. I really hope they fix it soon because for me this is a game that I'm going to play a lot of right now but I can absolutely see me losing interest after the story is completed since you're bound by your cult
idk based on the comments that sounds like a known bug because multiple people have said that. I unfortunately don't have a solution, at least none that I can think of.
I nearly beat the game in two days on medium. Balance out rituals that’ll restore faith and make bank/upgrades for runs. Godly weapons are broken as well as weapon reroll. Make 5 or 6 devotion gift thingies. Two wood and stone farms, and manage your followers traits. Don’t stack -10 faith when ill. Early on invest in turning your followers into poop. Saved my ass so many times. Turning your followers into demons, three max is broken and the best, and leveling the right villager’s for your dungeon play style make for a devastating results in boss fights. Especially when paired with the Golden Fleece
You don't need to put boxes inside the area to make them still use them during farming, and there is really good ritual for geting money from your followers. Basicaly what it does is steal money from ur folowers, but this way on 10+ folowers i got 500+ coins
Are you against the perk that lets you sacrifice a follower to come back to life I noticed you didn't have that unlocked? I'm legit wondering because that first tip made a lot of sense
It's probably a good idea to get that, I just didn't get it at first because I wasn't sure about it when I was new, but that was also before I realized how quickly followers grow old and die. Long term it's a good one to get.
lumber gets really really easy when you have a missionary and a few logging sites. I usually go with one mine, 3 logging sites, and a lvl1 missionary building early game. Once you beat the first boss, the only resources you should have trouble holding onto are grass and bones.
Man I lost like 3 followers all because I I'm struggling really hard to keep my Faith up. I like to stop and smell the roses but it feels like I'm being forced to skim over the side stuff
@@ethancory6127 that's was the first thing I did was go back into the dungeon but ended losing to the boss and after that did a ritual but my follower was still wanting to leave. i don't want to reset but I think I might be missing something to help keep up faith. I didn't rush through the tutorial and read through help section in the menu.
@@thegamerfrominside Dying causes a massive tank in faith. When you get to the boss focus more on dodging than doing damage. Winning the fight and not having the faith drop is more important than finishing a fight 10-20 seconds faster. You also get bonus resources for beating the level and boss without taking damage. Also you can bless flock members for small faith gains and loyalty individually. When you unlock rituals the bonfires good for a moderate faith boost but a ritual you can get in the material tree lets you trade gold for loyalty and faith.
@@mjarred87 I tried blessing but if the follower is unhappy it doesn't give me the option. I did the bonfire dance but no result in the problem child. That last bit about trading gold for loyalty I didn't know. I guess i just gotta get use the in game time. I just tend to struggle juggling when I want to explore and get immersed but I search every knook and cranny for items. Thank you for the help btw

Why does everyone elses game look so much more vibrant than mine? When I'm in the temple for example, instead of having my followers and I having a glowing affect, everything has a gray look to it, or when you see the XP bars for this guys followers, they almost look pinkish? Dodging resets your melee cooldown, this means you can attack rapidly with any weapon.
tip: cannot reset doctrinal decision once selected, so you need to star over again

I found that follower meat early game sells for a ton. Idk if it's used for anything major earlier other then cooking tho.

It is possible to upgrade a broken bed, and the 2nd tier beds, so you don't have to repair them.
Not to sound weird but I've been looking for tips on how to be a good cult leader in COTL and the things you've pointed out are very vital.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can.
The only way is to let your followers die, then to loot their body afterwards, you’ll see an option to
revive them and then you can just have them wear them forever

I just tend to struggle juggling when I want to explore and get immersed but I search every knook and cranny for items.

I've just started playing, so I might be talking out of my ass, but it sounds like if there's a perk that lets you leave the crusade you are on and restart until you get the weapon you want, you should just be able to choose your starting weapon...

I just glitched my game so now when I use the refiner to make things it doesn’t take any materials, I’m gonna be rich af, funny thing is I didn’t even mean to do it
the quests are basically the whole game after you get past a certain point. :/ also, rituals should always be done before sermons

Why does everyone elses game look so much more vibrant than mine? When I'm in the temple for example, instead of having my followers and I having a glowing affect, everything has a gray look to it, or when you see the XP bars for this guys followers, they almost look pinkish? But not mine, WHY??? I WANT BRIGHT COLOURFUL GAME!!!
sometimes i hav lumberyard but can't hav my follower to do generating the woods? Like why no cutting wood? when i made new lumberyard, they use the 2nd one.
Hey how to you make them all go to the temple??? I have a follower quest and they want me to marry and I can't marry that follower because it didn't appear in the temple. Do you guys know how to fix this?
I had the same issue. I checked every day if the person i wanted was present and it took three days.

I’m like day 70, with around 25 followers, and recently beat heket, am I stalling too much?? It’s my first play through tho

When iperform sermon or ritual on the temple only 6 ppl come and ihave 20 followers, what am idoing wrong?

On the opening game i did 2 rituals and i was effed by day 11 sec boss all my followers were low faith and left only cuz i screwed myself doing 2 in opening game

Its a bug. They've patched it in PC but console players are still stuck with 6

I think the lumberyards & mines run out after a while so you have to destroy them and then build new ones
