I noticed no one mentioned how sometimes there are trials you can find down in the pits, it involves a chest and a slime block. You use the slime block and you have to fight a wave of monsters, when you clear them the chest unlocks, but you can keep using the slime block to upgrade the chest, for each upgrade you have to fight another wave of monsters.
If you decide to have a familiar/pet, try to get the Mimic as soon as possible. i know mimics are rare and mimic eggs are even less common, but the mimic pet is like having a second inventory. you can hold twice as much stuff and anything you put in the mimic will not drop if you die, and cursed items have no effect while inside.
You can have a familiar or pet?! Whaaaaaat?!? 🤯 Edit: just beat the first dungeon, and I am in the forest dungeon currently. Idk if that makes a difference with how or when you can get a familiar, but this is great to know!
If you undersell an item, the patrons' eyes flash gold, but you can still go back to the table and increase the price just before they pick the item up to stop them from getting a good deal. Increase it too much and they leave, but if you get it up into the happy smile range, they'll still buy it anyways. Generally don't craft armor and weapons to sell, the materials required to make it typically sell for more than the profit the item would have made you, at least early on.
Look for the glowing health pools they lead you to the bosses of each floor! (Not sure if anybody said this already but this is explained at floor 3 of the Golem dungeon in one of the little camps off to the side)
People are really sleeping on the gloves, they have a fast combo that does a lot of damage at the same range as the starter weapon type (sword/shield) which makes it the only bad weapon combo gloves have (glove string into heavy weapon finisher is OP). However, people seem to not be mentioning a BIG edge to gloves is the ability to cancel attacks with dodges at ANY time. My entire perspective of the game's combat changed once I was able to make use of this knowledge. The beginner weapon has so much end lag after a swing/string before you can roll that the game basically teaches you that YOUR attack windows have to be hard-committed to. This is because, if you are going to induce lag to yourself per attack, then you are always going to want at least a string out of it for paying that price (that you can't roll out for a long time). With gloves though, you can even interrupt your OWN attacks (if dodge is pressed before the hit box comes out) with a roll- not just in the middle of a string or immediately after a hit. No attack is ever committed to, and when combined with neutral or positive speed armor sets, you're extremely nimble for the DPS output.
TurtleShell 720 never play binding of isaac but i bought the game a few weeks ago and i like it but stopped playing the game because of the witcher 3 on the switch 😂😂
Interesting… Just started playing Moonlighter again & was looking at the Glove weapon. I’m more of a distance attacker but I’ll give the Glove weapon a try
Bows suck especially against ranged enemies because they have more fire power than you, its better to just use a spear. Also that green eye monster happens in any dungeon and on any floor as long as you take too long to go to the next floor, not just the later ones and it doesn't follow you floor to floor either.
More tips: When you get an object, check the description. All items are arranged in order of price and going up or down will show you what price they are between such ad 800g to 3200g and it gives a decent hint on where to start your pricing. You can click on the mirror in your bag to manually select what you want to sell much much faster, but be careful. If you want to maximize loot, go back to town with all you want and the rest in a treasure chest with the catalyst. You can exploit the dungeon by using the catalyst on the new floor immediately to reveal the map and chests. 2nd boss is hardest in the game for me. Don't enter a dungeon broke. Don't attempt to roll over 2 squares of damaging liquids. I predict unnecessary and unfortunate damage. Edit: fuck the banker!
@@jackstanfield1265 haha yaaay for email! you need to tackle the bugger before he makes it to the door, this is much easier if you stay on the shop floor instead of behind the till. Not played in a while right enough, no idea if it was updated :)
The bow sucks for combat. Use a spear instead, it’s great for attacking from a distance to avoid getting hit easily, my go to secondary weapon is the gloves since they can rack up dmg quickly, but it’s your choice on how you want to play. P.S: your merchant book for labeling prices tells you the general price range your items can be sold for. For example: the bottom the the golem item list states the lowest value item can be sold for 5 gold. But once you climb up the list, you’ll see another tab that gives a value of 275. Use these tabs to estimate what an item is actually worth based on how close they are to those values.
Make sure when you go through a doorway in the dungeons to go in as close to the center as possible. I can’t tell you how many times i found myself out of bounds with the green monster chasing me or long range enemies shooting at me from beyond the walls to prematurely end my dungeon dive. Even entering boss rooms as well.
The bow can actually be really helpful. I have one that flies over obstacles when you charge it. So, you can hide behind them while being protected from the monster attacks while you charge and deal lots of damage. the one thing I agree is that the bow isn't ideal for monsters that have projectiles. Since they shoot in one direction it's better to use the sword behind their back by dodging them.
2h sword is far superior to bow, gives Invincible frames when used, and does instant 3rd hit damage, 2-3 times in 9x9 aoe. other than that? amazing guide! taught me a few things I hadnt considered, wishlisting things for instance. So obvious but easily overlooked XD
Don't forget that you can pick up the slime in your bag to mass sell items. Only in dungeons, but when you really don't care about the contents of a chest, it can be nice to get a bit of cash easily
my best tip is to use a weapon that does raw damage, instead of giving an effect. arguably the best one is the stun one, but that’s only on the golem dungeon weapons. you then should get the red baby slime familiar (it’s pretty much the easiest one to get in the whole game), which will add a stun effect to your weapons. it’s super useful, and i prefer that pet over the mimic, as i’ve played this game so many times that i’ve gotten amazing at inventory management.
Useful for most. Had just started today. Of note to two of your tips. The dangerous creature. It is in the first dungeon. I encountered it. A huge golem. Like ones in Tales of Vezperia. Also I found 2 different books in first dungeon.
I wish this game let you explore all 4 dungeons freely at the start of the game. It would make me feel like I’m growing and learning while not feeling like the same challenge level with every dungeon:
5 tips!!! 1.Go for the spear first, the added range helps a lot in the golem forest and tech dungeons 2.For a secondary, go sword and shield. Bows have their strengths but immunity is better than range 3.Don’t hesitate to go back to earlier dungeons for cash. I had trouble making money in the forest dungeon, so I just went back to golem and sold a bunch of golem jottings 4.Don’t enchant armour. This is important because money should be spent on shop upgrades, weapons, armour and that’s it! You can enchant a weapon but armour is a waste. 5.When you’re going for the boss, don’t worry about chests. Often times I’ll have to waste a potion on damage I took from mimics while looting, bosses are more important.
For anyone just getting into this incredible game like myself, if you see green goo instead of a spark, jump down and find the good creature sleeping. If you walk up to it, you can enter a separate dungeon. And if you beat the boss them you get a power weapon that is just good for the original dungeon you're in with a power boost that tastes some life in use. But it can be really worth using. And it resets dungeon to a new randomly generated run.

I'm playing moonlighter on the switch (digital purchase at full price) and having many problems which is unfortunate. Starting it chugs and drops frames not only in dungeons but in the village as well which causes severe problems in combat. I'm also getting stuck in screen transitions where my character disappears into the next screen tile but the screen is stuck on the tile I just cleared. Meaning the transitions to the next screen routinely break which has ended a run on a couple occasions. There is also many clipping problems. Whether dodge rolling in combat or just around town I get stuck in the environment constantly! The absolute worst problem I'm encountering though is a bug during the selling section of the game. It's really weird but the metacritic user reviews are awesome for PC but crap for PS4. I have it on PS4 and I've been having a blast. I honestly didn't think I'd like the shopkeep mechanic but I've actually been having a lot of fun with it. Plays really well although I did experience a glitch one time with a path I couldn't get through, it was like an invisible rock blocking my path so I had to end that dungeon run early. Only happened once tho no other bugs I've noticed. Definitely worth the buy
Is the demand for an item linked to the price I sold it before ? Like if I overprized it a little (meh face), does the demand go down and on the opposite if i undersell does the demand go up ? or is it solely based on the amount of items sold each day ?
Heads up the game has some annoying bugs.... at least on the ps4. Most annoying is one not being able to complete some customer request, so you have to skip that day thus failing the quest.
Random Person the ones im experiencing arent game breaking just super annoying. Now some items are disappearing when I go to turn in the customer request. I had five welding guns waiting for the customer. Now there missing and the quest is a fail lol
Yeah o had that happen to me just recently. I had the materials it was the start of the due date but it said I'd already failed it. I also had a bug where the shop wouldn't close. The customer walked out but it never did the end of day tally. It was at the same time as the one quest that bugged out.
I was kind of hoping for actually useful tips? Not even a single mention of invincibility during most secondary attacks. Big Sword secondary is OP. Hits up to 3 times for double (x6 total) damage and gives invincibility. Literally took out the last 2 bosses by standing still.

How do you even kill those wizard golems with staffs and shields? Because there are some rooms that you can’t exit until you kill all the enemies and if one of those golems are in it, I have nothing to do but use the pendant.
We all have our preferences. I'm more interested in the combat so I use what is most effective against my foes. This requires me to use every weapon. A spear is most effective against guardian golems. An a shield is effective against almost everything that rushes you. Sitting back to shoot at everything or dodging consistently seem pretty dull considering your options.
How exactly? Crafting small health potion USING the red jelly costs 135,I set price to 140 and guys were not satisfied. I came to a conclusion that you should only craft potions for yourself.
@@ГенийЖизни-л7ю Small potions, I'll gladly agree - those are horrible for profit. It does get better as you advance up the tiers, though - especially if you make a high-tier HP potion popular enough. Other than that, yeah, I agree that crafting potions is much better for your dungeon runs. Selling them would make a neat secondary profit, such as in the case of advancing from one dungeon difficulty to the next, as you would otherwise just consume them quickly in the harder dungeon. Thanks for pointing that out, though. It's definitely a pleasure talking to someone who does well at analyzing the way the economy works in that game.
I like the game but it’s so glitchy, I got stuck in the walls after doing a roll to avoid an enemy, sadly I had to reset the game and lose all my loot, and the in another occasion I got trapped between a bush and a treasure chest,
Attacking at angles is more of an abuse in mechanics than a tip. A good selling tip is to look into your book log. This will give you an idea of the price range of each item. Extremely useful for all players. It will also reveal the popularity of the item. If it is high than raise the price.

I’ve always seen it as more a Mixture of legend of Zelda and stardew valley
Binding of Isaac is just closer since the dungeoning gameplay is very similar.
Yes, zelda link to the moonlighter 😁
The battle mechanics in the beginning very much resemble Zelda. I also got the stardew valley vibe. Maybe a small hint of enter the Gungeon.
Isaac was based off of OG legend of zelda so in a way your not wrong at all

Anyway, happy gaming to you too, man
Jerry Fransz you can keep playing after the game end as long as you want or you can move on to new game+
Definitely worth the buy
another is an inventory bug that you have to close the game to stop it
Is the demand for an item linked to the price I sold it before ? Like if I overprized it a little (meh face), does the demand go down and on the opposite if i undersell does the demand go up ?
or is it solely based on the amount of items sold each day ?
Let me use my bow in peace y’all are mean
This game is now available on xbox gamepass right now and I'm having a blast playing this!!
Humble bundle as well. An absolute steal because you get hellblade as well.
„They can only move in 90 degree angles“ *shows video showing them moving in 360 degress*
tni333 she’s just dumb
@@the_jingo you realise other people wrote that script and edited the video, right? She just read what was written
Heads up the game has some annoying bugs.... at least on the ps4. Most annoying is one not being able to complete some customer request, so you have to skip that day thus failing the quest.
MrRighteousfish interesting, seems to work fine on pc
Random Person that is interesting. Have you not experienced any bugs?
MrRighteousfish there are bugs but they aren't game breaking just a few items don't register sometimes when you try to sell them
Random Person the ones im experiencing arent game breaking just super annoying.
This game is actually a mixture of a Sega Genesis game called Fatal Labyrinth and Just pick any shop management sim in the mobile phone era
I had more trouble beating the Desert boss then the final boss
Desert Boss was a real bastard, true.
Every boss after forest dungeon is ez just use spear
What the hell is that pronunciation of the word chasm?
I was kind of hoping for actually useful tips?
Not even a single mention of invincibility during most secondary attacks.
Big Sword secondary is OP. Hits up to 3 times for double (x6 total) damage and gives invincibility. Literally took out the last 2 bosses by standing still.
Does this game have any replayability?
Not in my opinion, no. It was a fantastic game, but there's no real choice involved and I unlocked everything pretty easily.
I think the only thing ill replay it for is just to choose new weapons and armor
i do have a feeling that i might get an itch for it in the future so there's that
@@banztagtv oh, definitely. I'm sure I'll pick it back up every so often just because it was very enjoyable. Something I can put on when I'm not in the mood to slog through lots of plot and just want compelling gameplay.
@@lolabun715 that Well, that's cool to hear not from me. well till next time.
@@lolabun715
Fast armor, big sword, star platinum gloves. Tons of death runs.
Wish there were more to armor and such. Hero's gear doesn't mean all that much to me.
Chasm is pronounce KASM, not TJASM.... I know this and am not even English :)
Prioritize books and what in the store? Sorry just got this game today and trying to figure it out and I can't for the life of me figure out what the other item is that's mentioned
Great review thanks!
i was just gonna buy moonligther thx
am I the only one who didn't say any sparkling chasms in the pit???? How do you really find them?
What sparkle? all i saw was the abyss
Do people find moving with d-pad or analog stick better? People say there is diagonal movement, others say it doesn't really work or matter. I wanna buy it on either XBox (comfortable analog) or PS4 (comfortable d-pad).
Nick Ziegler get a PC to play it
But at night you are... *BATMAN!*
BTW... when does he sleep!!?
3:05 fair enough.
you don’t need to sleep ahaha
Such a great game.
Just get Claws buddy. Bow if you want, but, Claws are the way.
You could have had 15 tips like you can run the counter from outside the counter so if anyone is stealing you can easily get them
Recettear???
How does the pit work when we have two open cardboards like at 2:06
You can't help but feel sad knowing that the skeletons were once adventurers like ourselves.
With that knowledge I always make sure what these doomed souls have (unfortunately) given me, shall be put to good use on my own adventure :3
1:48 This is a great video, but being the pedantic person I am I have to point out that chasm is pronounced "kaz-um", not "chaz-um"!
Wait, the lady at 6:35 is Twin Peak easter egg?
Eyepatch lady wanting to but fertilizer.
i lost all my items when i sleep, is that normal ?
How do you even kill those wizard golems with staffs and shields? Because there are some rooms that you can’t exit until you kill all the enemies and if one of those golems are in it, I have nothing to do but use the pendant.
lol... attack them from behind. This your first game?
End game bow is op! You can literally charge shoot through walls!
Any bow can do that, that's why bows are good and people say they suck. My combo is long sword and bow it's super good lol
Great video! Glad I’m not going into this game blind

"Forget the petals and the jellies..."
*When you can profit off crafted potions...*
Technically, you already profit off of a brewed potion as buying one straight out cost more than twice the price.
If he does shop in the morning and dungeon at night, when can Will sleep?
you don’t need to sleep, but if you feel like skipping day or night you can
I like the game but it’s so glitchy, I got stuck in the walls after doing a roll to avoid an enemy, sadly I had to reset the game and lose all my loot, and the in another occasion I got trapped between a bush and a treasure chest,
Sue Vang you can teleport home you’re just too dumb to do so
I encountered the green eye on the first floor of the 1sr dungeon
Why don't return curses work? I lost four journals because I expected them to get sent back to my chest.
the return chests target must have space, that is as much as I can add to this
Attacking at angles is more of an abuse in mechanics than a tip. A good selling tip is to look into your book log. This will give you an idea of the price range of each item. Extremely useful for all players. It will also reveal the popularity of the item. If it is high than raise the price.
But wait how do you get the level two shop
I have been playing moonlighter and never got a bow because I thought it needed ammo… the second I heard there is unlimited ammo I ran to the blacksmith.
I just keep dying over and over
till this day? XD
Don't forget to hack every tree in town. Just like Animal Crossing, it's a fair way to grab some easy coins early in your entrepreneurship . . .
i defeated first 2 bosses wit only short sword and shield also when something costs to much or to little right before they grab it i change the price
i recommended spear for all dungeon why ? see for your sefl

People keep comparing this to Zelda and the whatever. But I don't understand the Zelda comparison. Are there puzzles to solve?
The one screen dungeon rooms with doors on the walls and enemies that drop items is essentially the entire gameplay of the original NES Legend of Zelda. This game was clearly inspired by the original Zelda game.
The enemies fire at a 90 degree angle. And attack not move.
And the eye symbol means u have spent too much time in a dungeon and the green monster is coming if he comes run u cant kill him if u run to the exit to the next floor he stops following u and the eye timer resets .
This video is not educational in facts lol
Good stuff guys..
This is on sale on the PlayStation store :o I might get this game it looks good😃😃
I want this now ty
Soooooo helpful!!!
when youve never said the word chasm out loud before in your entire life
It is a silent ‘h’ in ‘Chasm’ 🤫😅
You did not actually just pronounce "Chasm" like that right
It's correct if you're British you dunce
The script of this video is suspiciously familiar to one of the guides I've found on Google. Or vice versa, idk
@El LaPoint good point actually
Go to 43 seconds to avoid the preamble.
Chasm?
What English person pronounces chasm as "Chaz-m"? Good grief.
I don't know if I want to buy this game?
