People are still making videos, and mods, about this game in 2024. That's awesome. Gran Turismo 4's a lovely game. It's a shame that my copy of it got scratched.
You can fix it by applying scratch remover for acrylic glass and scrub with a soft cloth. I've fixed a dreamcast CD once.Actually made it look like new again.
The ultimate mod for these unique wheels, as well as used car wheels from other models (that I don't know if it's possible, just saying it would be awesome), would be a system like in GT5 and newer where it's limited by sizes that fit the cars, sizes that those wheels were actually made in (reason why it felt there were so few options in GT5. There were fewer, but they also varied by car), including increasing rim size and reducing tire profile for more options, like in GT6 and up. Imagine your car comes with 14in wheels, and you can only fit wheels from cars that had 14in, 15in or 16in wheels, but there's a bunch of options shown for your model, sorta like a list generated as you enter the shop with a certain car. Maybe with a "seed" based on your in-game day.
the rim size, tyre profile etc. are taken from database. thats why the wheels shrink when you equip dirt tyres. there is a parameter that increases rim size when you put racing tyres only and thats about it. the used wheels section generates seed every ingame day and even if limiting the available tyres based on cars' data i think it would complicate it a lot
Hey man, you won't believe me but I coincidentally have exactly the same car, same colour, same wheel selected as in the thumbnail in front of me right now. I was also searching for what these wheels' names meant when I saw it in the shop and this video came up. By my surprise the car looked exactly like mine, wish I could send you a pic🤣🤣
Will this ever be made available as a patch or mod option? Would be really cool especially for some of the JDM wheels like the Longchamps and Work wheels that are in there

i made a typo there, those wheels appear in Today's Special section only and dont belong to any car so this is only putting them together
