    Damn! it is actually what I need. By the way, can I ask if it is possible to break into a Big 3 consulting firm if I have just graduated from an ordinary university? In fact, I have already graduated. However, I don't think I can work as a consultant at this moment. Therefore, I first decided to work for one year to gain experience and prepare for myself. Then, to apply for a management consulting job next year. Your video helped me a lot! Not only about the knowledge but also about the emotional support. Thank you so much, Matt!

      It's 100% possible. Will require you to work a bit harder to get an interview (i.e., networking to get a referral), but if you are prepared to do the cases and have a strong story about why you want to switch into consulting, you can. Have seen it done before.

    This was an awesome guide, Matt! Regarding the full solo cases, how do you recommend going about this? From my experience, a casebook like Darden (which you kindly recommended) has the solution next to the question, which makes it harder to do it solo?
    Also, would you be open to doing mock cases with your viewers trying to break into MBB :)?

      Great question! For solo cases I'd recommend just attempting the framework and putting together a list of of follow up questions. After you've done this, take a look at the solution for just that portion of the case. Do your best to cover the solution if you're using the Darden casebook or just pick another casebook that doesn't has the solutions on the same page.
      I'm definitely open to casing my viewers, I just can't promise I'll have enough time to do it for everyone!

    Hey Matt, do you think that working as a business analyst in financial planning and analysis department is a good start for a management consulting career?

    • @matthuang21
      @matthuang21  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Pang, I think that starting as a business analyst in FP&A is a great option if you want to lateral to management consulting later because you'll have relevant finance/accounting knowledge and hopefully you'll also gain a bit of business acumen along the way as well. Consulting firms are open to a wide variety of background, but any role that is inherently analytical will be seen favorably.

      @@matthuang21 Thank you for your response! By the way, what would be your recommendation regarding the ideal duration of my current job before transitioning into a career in management consulting? Initially, I had planned to work for one year, but I am uncertain whether that duration might be considered too short.
