Mine somehow omly has 6 tentacles but thats okay 😂
Aww I’m sure it’s so cute!
mine was like that too but i figured out what i was doing wrong! the next chain 5 after the first tentacle is supposed to go directly on TOP of the second slip stitch on the body. i was putting my hook through the next front loop and THEN chaining 5 which left me with six tentacles. i watched the video again and once i realized where she was doing the ch 5 i had eight tentacles. i’m not sure if that’s what happened with you but i thought i’d share!
A coworker was just saying she really wanted a tiny octopus for her desk - this will work brilliantly for her. Thanks for sharing!
🐙 made it! I’ve started a couple other plushies but haven’t finished the crochet, this size project is perfect for an adhd beginner 😂 I still need to get stuffing but I’ll wrap it up soon, it’s for my new niece. I love the tip to crochet the string in so I don’t have to sew it later. And I did what the other comments recommended, didn’t cut between body and legs. Used lion brand wool-ease thick and quick yarn. Super happy with it. 🥰
That’s wonderful! Really happy to
Hear this! I’m sure your niece will be so happy to receive this little octopus!
This is really cute. I’ve made two but I can’t get the legs to look like yours. If the bottom of the body is 8 stitches and we need 8 legs, then when I think I’m following directions and slip stitching into two front loops past a leg, I only have room for 4 legs and have to go around again to get the last four completed so it looks extra lumpy and not flat on the bottom like yours. Help?!
I’m having the same problem-I don’t get how she managed to fit eight legs into the bottom and still make it lay flat. Maybe try slipping only one stitch on the body instead of two? Someone please help us!
@@karmaisreal6284 I had the same issue but then my husband noticed that the tentacles seem to be attached not to the last row (which has only 8 stitches) but one above that (that has 16 stitches). It is possible to see in the video when she talks about attaching tentacles to the front loops :)
I am having the same problem as well. I am glad I wasn't the only one! I'll go back and see exactly where she is doing her slip stitches @claireka2
I did the same thing at first until I figure out you had to go into the row with 16 stitches. Undoing my work constantly to fix it is an opportunity to practice detachment 😂😂
I don’t think you need to cut the body from the legs… I’m going yo try it without & I’ll report back!
Okay great! Thank you!
I can report back for you, you do not have to. In fact, it’s easier without it.😊
@@BiggestCrazyCaeFanwhat did you do
I also did the legs attached to the body and it worked great. I made the body and directly made the legs without cutting it. Thanks for the tutorial 🥰
@ladinar.75 that’s wonderful!! I’ll definitely be editing the pattern to reflect this easier method!
R1 mr 8sc
R2 inc =16
R3-6 sc16
R7 BLO dec =8
Tentacles

2sc into 2nd ch (inc)
Inc next 2ch
Slst last chain
Slsts next 2 FLO repeat
This was really simple and easy to make. As a beginner this was really easy to follow. Tysm ❤
Great to hear! Thank you for watching and commenting.
I think I messed up somewhere, mine has 4 tentacles! :( i did 5 chain then the 3 inc going down the chain then slipstitch then the slipstitch to the next two holes but when i did it that way i ended up with 4 tentacles. i wonder if i should have done 1 slipstitch to the next hole instead of next 2 holes
i just realized where i went wrong. i started the next chain from the next hole after the last slipstitch! :(
It’s such a beautiful Octo 😍and you really explain so so so good any beginner would be able to follow 👌👌thanks for this great tutorial
❤
Guys I just made a crochet bag for dolls all my Self and I'm a beginner crocheter
That’s great! Good for you!
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet Thank you so much for you videos. Your video inspired me to do crochet. Thank you so much!
This is a perfect octopus….I added three eyelashes coming from each eye socket and used Kawaii eyes! Beautiful!
Ohh! I’m sure it’s so beautiful! If you have Facebook or IG I’d love to see it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Can you post pics?
I am trying but finding it difficult to find the front loop got the tentacles. I even used stitch markers but still struggled...
Can I have all of those 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢for me
Thanks so much! , i literally spent my whole day finding a cute plushie to crochet , mine is a little different but still cute, i featured you on my video too!❤❤
Oh wow! I’m so happy you picked my pattern to crochet. Thank you for watching and the feature in your video! ❤️
If I have 8 stitches .if I go over 2 stitches each tentacle I only end up with 4. I don't understand what I'm not getting😢
You’re supposed to have 16 stitches. Round 2 you increase. So 2 stitches into each stitch around.
Okay..... I have to say this is the easiest Magic Ring explanation I've ever seen - WOW!! Every time I come across someone else's video the steps are crazy, yours were simple and very little steps and it's the same thing! THANK YOU So much!!! Super cute Octopus and cannot wait to make this :)
I am so happy to hear this! Thank you for choosing my tutorial. I hope you enjoy making lots of little Octo’s!
Love this. Best wishes from Belfast.xxx❤❤❤
I don’t know if I’m using the wrong yarn but as soon as I tighten the magic loop I immediately lose where my stitches are. It all blends together.
Use a stitch marker😊
I love the way you show every stitch so clearly. Your tutorial is so easy to follow, and this is by far the best octopus pattern I’ve seen. I’ve finished two so far, and in just one evening!
Your pacing and encouragement are perfect for beginners! Thanks for creating this video! I actually have a completed octopus that looks like it should... or almost! LOL
This is illegal cuteness 🥹
it is!! 😂
It really is! I always laugh when I see them 🥰
Easy to follow and quick to make. ✨ Great way to use up scrap yarns, thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
Great to hear! Thank you very much for watching and commenting. I hope you make lots of little Octo’s!

That’s great! Have fun! Thank you for watching and commenting.
lots of fun. if you are an absolute beginner as I am please don't use cheap dollar store yarn. my octopus came out like it got into a fight with spiderman and lost badly...ijs lol I love it tho
Aww haha so cute! Thank you for watching and commenting.
can you give sample pattern of Eeve pokemon please
Okay! I’ve been crocheting for a month now and made numerous things.. but I’ve never seen a tutorial where they hot glued the eyes down?? I hate it when the eyes sink into the body too much and look weird, does this prevent that? (obviously to keep it in place but that’s common sense)
This might help prevent that because you wouldn’t have to put the backing on as tightly?
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet oh okay!
Loved this so much! Thank you so much! Looking forward to more amigurumi tutorials from you! :) :) :)
O nome dessa linha por favor
Great tutorial and a quick cute project!
hi just beginning very nervous thank you
Hi, amazing tutorial!!! Can I sell these cute little guys giving you full credit that the pattern was yours, if not I will abstain myself from selling them, goodbye and thank you for the amazing tutorial
Hi! Absolutely! As long as you’re making them yourself, and I would greatly appreciate the pattern credit.
Thank you for asking!
Happy crocheting and selling!
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet thank you so much 💖
So adorable, going to make some for my grandbabies for Christmas, thank you for your wonderful clear instructions 💖
So adorable
Thank you so much!
How can you end on 8 stitches *before tentacles* and then use 3 sts per tentacle and end up with a total of 8? You would end up with 5?
You don’t end on 8 stitches. You start the tentacles when you have 16 stitches still.
Thank you for this tutorial Joanna! I would like to make this into a bit of a bigger octopus. How could I do that. I know I can use a bigger hook size but is there a way to modify the existing pattern to make it bigger? Thanks again!
I always end up with only 6 tentacles on my octo 😅 maybe my yarn is smaller than yours 🙈
Stitch count isn’t determined by the yarn thickness!
Can anyone help me? When I try to grab yarn for the tentacles, it slides out. How do I do it???
I could only make 7 tenticals not 8, it doesn't look weird tho is that fine?
Yes! Absolutely fine. Nobody will count them. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience!
I don't use instagram. Is there somewhere else i can find this pattern?
I’m going to put it on my website this week! I’ll message here again when I’ve posted it!
Wonderful tutorial, octopus was a success! Is it ok to sell the finished product if I credit you as the creator of the pattern?
Thank you so much! Yes absolutely! As long as you yourself are making them. I really appreciate the credits too. Happy sales!
@@JonnaMartinezCrochet thanks so much!

Great tutorial. Thank you
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Very beautiful Auto nice work I'm going to try to make one thank you for showing me
Great Video - I am a total beginner & this is really well explained.... Thank You ❤❤❤ ps: I am wondering if I can use the same stitch instructions, if I only have acrylic knitting yarn & an appropriatly smaller hook... will I still end up with this octopus shape, but of a different size?
Thank you! Yes you could use other yarns. The Octo will probably be very tiny and very cute with acrylic knitting yarn ❤️thank you for watching and commenting.
What a great tutorial! Thank you for posting (:
how is this easy
Thank you for sharing ❤ Looks really cute 😊
About how many inches is the string at the end?
❤. Great tutorial
Thank you!
My daughter loves this cuties 🐙
I have counted every stitch but I only have space for 7 tentacles. Where am I going wrong?
Maybe you counted your stitches wrong?
I really want to make a lot of them thanks for the pattern 😊 11:40 11:40
