Okay..... I have to say this is the easiest Magic Ring explanation I've ever seen - WOW!! Every time I come across someone else's video the steps are crazy, yours were simple and very little steps and it's the same thing! THANK YOU So much!!! Super cute Octopus and cannot wait to make this :)
Thank you for sharing. The placement of the stitchmarker was a aha moment for me, in the last stitch of the row is so much more helpfull knowing when a new row starts!
My daughter just asked me to teach her to crochet octopus. I have never did it but your tutorial will be our guide next weekend. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much! , i literally spent my whole day finding a cute plushie to crochet , mine is a little different but still cute, i featured you on my video too!❤❤
This is really cute. I’ve made two but I can’t get the legs to look like yours. If the bottom of the body is 8 stitches and we need 8 legs, then when I think I’m following directions and slip stitching into two front loops past a leg, I only have room for 4 legs and have to go around again to get the last four completed so it looks extra lumpy and not flat on the bottom like yours. Help?!
I’m having the same problem-I don’t get how she managed to fit eight legs into the bottom and still make it lay flat. Maybe try slipping only one stitch on the body instead of two? Someone please help us!
@@karmaisreal6284 I had the same issue but then my husband noticed that the tentacles seem to be attached not to the last row (which has only 8 stitches) but one above that (that has 16 stitches). It is possible to see in the video when she talks about attaching tentacles to the front loops :)
I did the same thing at first until I figure out you had to go into the row with 16 stitches. Undoing my work constantly to fix it is an opportunity to practice detachment 😂😂
Your pacing and encouragement are perfect for beginners! Thanks for creating this video! I actually have a completed octopus that looks like it should... or almost! LOL
I just made this lovely fella. And i made the entire body with eyes first and then the tentacles, was easyer and faster without so much cutting. Just a tip, i love the pattern thnx ❤
🐙 made it! I’ve started a couple other plushies but haven’t finished the crochet, this size project is perfect for an adhd beginner 😂 I still need to get stuffing but I’ll wrap it up soon, it’s for my new niece. I love the tip to crochet the string in so I don’t have to sew it later. And I did what the other comments recommended, didn’t cut between body and legs. Used lion brand wool-ease thick and quick yarn. Super happy with it. 🥰
I love the way you show every stitch so clearly. Your tutorial is so easy to follow, and this is by far the best octopus pattern I’ve seen. I’ve finished two so far, and in just one evening!
I made my very first amigurumi with this video and I love it!! It was so easy!! I've always struggled, especially with magic circles when it comes to chenille yarn. But with your method it was so so easy. Thank you so much!!!!!
Omg this was the cutest idea ever love how the tentacles curl I made my first one last night I used 3.5mm yarn it makes a cute key chain thanks so much !
I think I messed up somewhere, mine has 4 tentacles! :( i did 5 chain then the 3 inc going down the chain then slipstitch then the slipstitch to the next two holes but when i did it that way i ended up with 4 tentacles. i wonder if i should have done 1 slipstitch to the next hole instead of next 2 holes
Such a cute octopus! Very easy to make and I like the tentacles. The only thing I was change is adding the eyes and stuffing before you got to the last round. Waiting till the end made it a bit harder to get the eyes in
I LOVE these! I just made 3! It is my new favourite octopus pattern! I did make a small change after the fiest one though. I find it easier to go right to the tentacles on the FL before I decease in the BL.
Hello Jonna, I also did not snip of the yarn and attached it newly to the body. I just kept on crocheting with the same yarn. Thank you for this beautiful pattern, I crochet these octo while watching this tutorial, for market prep. It's really easy and so pretty 😍 I used color changing yarn and it came out so pretty. ❤ Thank you
Yes! That’s wonderful! Wish I could edit the tutorial because that is a much easier method! But oh well. I’m happy everyone is having fun making these cuties! Thank you for watching and commenting. ❤️
mine was like that too but i figured out what i was doing wrong! the next chain 5 after the first tentacle is supposed to go directly on TOP of the second slip stitch on the body. i was putting my hook through the next front loop and THEN chaining 5 which left me with six tentacles. i watched the video again and once i realized where she was doing the ch 5 i had eight tentacles. i’m not sure if that’s what happened with you but i thought i’d share!

Oh wow! I’m so happy you picked my pattern to crochet. Thank you for watching and the feature in your video! ❤️
I don’t think you need to cut the body from the legs… I’m going yo try it without & I’ll report back!
Okay great! Thank you!
I can report back for you, you do not have to. In fact, it’s easier without it.😊
@@BiggestCrazyCaeFanwhat did you do
I also did the legs attached to the body and it worked great. I made the body and directly made the legs without cutting it. Thanks for the tutorial 🥰
@ladinar.75 that’s wonderful!! I’ll definitely be editing the pattern to reflect this easier method!

I am having the same problem as well. I am glad I wasn't the only one! I'll go back and see exactly where she is doing her slip stitches @claireka2

Quick and simple. Thank you 🧶 💚
I don’t know if I’m using the wrong yarn but as soon as I tighten the magic loop I immediately lose where my stitches are. It all blends together.
Use a stitch marker😊

Awesome you make it doable
If you want to make the tentacles into the last row how many SC would you need with the slip stitches as well?
You’d have to slip stitch into the same stitch as the tentacles.
Because you only have 8 stitches, and you need 8 tentacles.
