Only Avatar seems to be getting 3d releases now. But yeah films are still getting 3d theatrical releases. I look to the bootleg market to get any in released versions but they are few and far between sadly. The majority just didn't like 3D. I have a 4K/ 3d projector and it great to watch 3d content on it. Recently picked up Need for Speed in 3d for a couple of £ not checked it out yet
I didn't notice that! Tbh I never used the 3d feature of my beamer, buuut I definitely need to try that out. Also it's a shame, that they are limiting our options. Passengers is also one of my favourite movies, although yeah admittedly it's not the best movie in the world, but I like it.
It love passengers in 3d the depth is great. Found it a very moving movie as to how you would react after finding you were basically sentenced to a lonely death in space before your time.
Also we’re getting a problem with 4k disc’s not including the Blu Ray version now let alone the 3d version of which I myself have no need for due to the specs of the new tv’s , I’m sorry mate 😮
If that was the case we wouldnt be getting movies made in 3d for cinema then released on 3d Blu ray like Avatar way of the water. Also all 4k projectors come 3d compatable for Home Cinema Enthusiasts
We watched IF in 3d at the cinema few months back that didn’t get 3d transfer . We watched Inside Out 2 in 3d at cinema , that has yet to have 3d release . To name a few . Cinema is still showing 3d movies when they have them , even though there are only around 12 people going to viewings.
Some of us have 3D projectors still, but most of the world doesn't care one bit. Bring back 3D blurays period. There was no Dune Part 2 in 3D anywhere including the theater. So I've got part 1 in 3D and never shall there be a 3D part 2! That's BS.
@@VonMagXL They may do a 3D version like they did with Top Gun and Predator . Predator turned out pretty good considering it was never originally made for 3d. I’m guessing Cameron will make the upcoming Avatars in 3D still hopefully
@@HomeCinemaEnthusiast What really stinks is Disney converted all the Star Wars movies to 3D already and won't release them. WB did at least Harry Potter 1 in 3D for the anniversary in China, but not over here or on BD. Knowing these companies spent money on 3D conversions that are already completed and they won't sell them is infuriating to a 3D fan. I badly want a copy of Disney's Magic Journeys 3D they showed in the parks for many years. I first saw it in 1984. Disney could have released a collection of those park 3D videos when 3D was more popular, but never did and probably never will. It's almost criminal as they don't show that one at the parks anymore.
@@VonMagXL What annoys me with Disney is they are desperate for people to subscribe to Disney +. So they keep all the Star Wars on their platform. I have all the Star Wars and Indians Jones on Blu Ray and 4k , so doesn’t affect me . But when they released hocus pocus 2 they kept that digital only . Which I refuse to buy and others they may keep digital only. I have most of my Disney movies in 3d which I love. We are all being held to ransom by these streaming services to subscribe. For us movie collectors atleast we didn’t fall for the all digital. But companies are charging higher prices for physical movies as they know it’s a niche they can take advantage of . I always wait for sales unless i get the dreaded FOMO 😂 with Steelbooks.
@@HomeCinemaEnthusiast I have a 19 speaker Atmos system and Disney doesn't do the Atmos soundtracks properly. Everything is pretty much straight overhead. The 6.1 blurays sound better in Neural X upmixing mode (e.g. R2D2 only appears directly overhead in the Dagoba swamp when thrown by the swamp creature and sounds cut off like a bit is missing at ground level. The 6.1 version has him fly overhead across the ceiling and land behind my right shoulder. It's not even close). I got the original Despecialized versions with Dolby 70mm 6-channel and Dolby Stereo, which I play on a Lexicon MC-1 plugged into the Atmos AVR 7.1 inputs, giving me an array out of the extra Atmos ear level speakers like a mini-theater). 4K might be nice, but it's not the original movies. I hear there's a newer 4K Despecialized versions, however taken directly from the original 35mm reels. The 720p Despecialized have a certain film quality to them on a 92" screen (you never actually got equivalent 4K output in theaters as they were 3rd gen copies so 720p is probably closer to the original experience at that size).
