Love a dahlia but this year in our wee Scottish suburban garden the dahlias are getting eaten caterpillars and earwigs! The white dahlia blooms seem to encourage greenfly? Not great especially as I’m doing a friends wedding in a couple of weeks so I’m ordering flowers instead of using my own , love watching your videos 🌺🌸🌺
We get all kinds of bugs late in the season! It's such a pain, we do spray at the end one time to keep the bugs at bay. I hope your wedding was a success! Love having you tagging along Christine!
Oh those poor but lucky little kittens. Your as kind as you seem.Thank you ...Your Dahlias beautiful. I really like the dark ones with the dark stems. Do you all sale seeds or tubers ?
I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Thanks to you I now know what bug was eating the crap out of my flowers this year. It was the cucumber beetle.
Love all the dahlia''s. I just started growing again this past year for my own enjoyment. Biggest drawback is I have to dig them up in fall and they bloom so late where I live - about 100 days frost free. Still enjoy them though.
@@crowleyhouseflowerfarm I am going to try soaking the tubers for a few weeks before planting to see if I can get to sprout earlier. Alternatively I will start indoors like I do my canna lilies.
first time watching any videos, but will go check out your others. I'm a dahlia grower, not a farmer like this though, in NY state. I thought you guys in the PNW had a rough summer, but your flowers are gorgeous!
Well welcome Jessica! The Dahlias just got going, we had a very wet spring and got them in late, they finally started to bloom like crazy just in time for frost!
It helps me keep the wholesale orders straight, we could have the same product going to three different accounts so by haveing a flag in each bucket that's color coordinated with my clients keeps us moving faster and we don't miss anything on the orders.
@@crowleyhouseflowerfarm Oh, that’s so clever! 🏆 What a great idea! ⭐️I’ve never seen or heard of this method/idea before, but it makes all the sense in the world for keeping orders straight. I’m so glad I asked! Thanks for replying to my question and if/ when I ever need to use this idea, I’ll have it at the ready.😊I could even tweak it for a wedding coming up that I’ll be doing with a lot of greenery and white flowers: the buckets with this colour are for decorating the arch, that colour flag is for the table runners…etc.
LOL! I feel better now because I lost a bucket of celosia this summer!
😄 same!!!

Yes! I also have lost buckets of flowers that I find a day or two later… and my farm is not that big… 😂
It totally happens all the time! I'm working on getting better at it. 😆
I hope you all have a wonderful time at the cabin in the woods.

That is a challenge. We only dig what we can handle, storing and deviding.

Ooh! I love the tomatoes. Super beautiful! I like tomato jam too:) It's a staple here in Portugal. I can't wait to work with your flowers this season!

I see you plant dahlias in plastic. Do you run drip irrigation under the plastic?
We do!
What kind of fertilizer do you use for dahlias? TY
We use a liquid fish fertilizers 🐟
22:01 Pink or orange flag in each bucket…why?
