    Hey Adam, great video as always. I have a 2012 AWD APR Stage 3 Beetle. I have a suggestion for you. I put my nozzles in the discharge pipe of the intercooler. There is a very noticeable difference when spraying, even in cool weather. It gives more space and time to vaporize, and it allows me to run more boost. It would also allow you to use the spacer port for your boost gauge. Just my experience. Rich

      We already have plans on testing it as is to see what we see and then if we don't see what we want, we will be moving the nozzle. Thanks for the suggestion though.

      i did the same its because on ur beetle is probably like my 1.4 tsi scirocco the IAT comes after the discharge pipe of the IC the IAT of course sees the cooler air and of course inputs more power i definetly got just with the water meth kit at my stage 2 scirocco about 25 -35 hp

      @@DaFeLaTV Certainly worked for me, I can tell a significant difference between on and off. Also allows me to add in another 5lbs of boost without detonation on 93 octane fuel. But don't try that without data logging it to find your best settings for weather, fuel quality and such.

      you are right, but where you are shooting it, it doesn't have time to cool the intake charge properly and its soaking your map sensor giving false reading on AIT,

      @NimaSomeh luckily we never used it then, lol. I've seen multiple people run their WMI setups successfully this way. That's why we did it. With that said, we've already changed it with the motor needing to be fixed anyways and having everything a part.

  • @swansmeister
    @swansmeister 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah it's nice you don't have an extra reservoir in the trunk as you said but I mean there are times you need that windshield washer fluid like in the winter for instance and even in the summer when the sun shines on the window and you cant see shit because it's just so dirty from all the bugs. I have WMI on my 8p aswell and me having a different headunit from alpina and working with an aftermarket sub in a box I was able to remove the factory bose amp and sub thats behind the left panel in the trunk. That sub with the casing is pretty big and leaves you a lot of room to put a tank in there. You do need to modify the panel tho because it's screwed to be able to acces the little tank to fill it up but we did and this way the tank isnt viseable either and you get to keep the windshield washer fluid.

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Windshield washer fluid is extremely similar in properties compared to my water/meth Boost Juice. I can still wash my windshield with that fluid just like I did before.

    cheers man thanks for another banger! super excited to throw a meth kit on my S3! is there a reason why you used it as a fuel rather than IAT cooling on the S3? im hybrid turbo on E85 but in the california summer the DA and temps are absolutely horrendous lol

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Back in 2017 when I was racing my S3 there was no tuning solution for E85. I used a 104 octane map which was a blend of our 94 octane pump gas and a bunch of water/meth.

  • @joshpetit44

    My car is in the shop as I type, and my Snow Performance stage 1 is being installed alongside some other good stuff. I, like you, am also using the windshield washer reservoir and had wondered about the pump placement you had chosen. The install guide says to keep the pump below the reservoir level but in your installation you placed it next to the brake reservoir. "Hypothetically" it is still sitting lower than the windshield washer reservoir top up location. A more enthusiastic review indicates that the pump is parallel to the reservoir in placement. Was there any issues with the spray? I've got a HPA K04 EA888.2 Audi TT Mk 2.

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've never sprayed yet. I'm still waiting on a finalized tune for my car before we start dialing that in. If you compared where the pump sits vs where the tank sits in the fender it is still lower than the tank.

    • @atlasdelmar
      @atlasdelmar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VancityAudi Yes hypothetically you are correct, even though it's parallel, the pump is sitting a few inches lower then the tank. My only concerns were the lines from the tank to the pump, since the pump isn't that great at priming. I was hoping you had purged the system and tried out that placement. I've asked the shop to mimic the placement in my engine bay. My Racingline intake leaves little room, but I'm hoping they find a proper solution. I'm surprised you didn't go stage 1, since you only really need WMI it at WOT there's not a lot of progressive tuning that can be done with the stage 3 in the 10 seconds your on the tarmac. I'll send you my setup and results to your insta later this week and let you know if that pump setup works. My car is more road course/lap oriented so the approach to WMI use is different yet similar. Looking forward to more of your content. Best

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@atlasdelmar we have zero doubts that it won't work. The good thing is though that IF it doesn't, we have done the leg work for others to show them that particular setup won't work for this application and we'll change it up until it does. Secondly, we are only using it for cooling so the concern that it is not working as well as it should isn't as concerning. If it isn't working as we hoped we can easily change it, where as if we were relying on it for octane and it doesn't work, my engine may go boom, haha. Lastly, we only need it for just over 9 seconds, not 10 🤣. I should also mention that I'd rather go Stage 2 where we have some flexibility for future development rather than just stage 1 and not have anywhere to go if we need to down the road.

    • @atlasdelmar
      @atlasdelmar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VancityAudi fair enough, the ability to change up on the fly is ideal. With Stage 1 your just a nozzle change away from more or less WM, albeit, being a manual change vs your digital input from the cabin, I understand your logic. Looking forward to more of your content and some 8's . Best
