Cautiously optimistic that Mom continues to have improved hooves and general health. Her new baby is a real character. Lots of good personality that hopefully will cheer his Mom. Love the care and love you offer to these horses. The farrier is wonderful in sharing what he sees and giving you all his honest opinion. May her tootsies heel. Prayers gor you all. 🐎🌻
Shoes, shoes, shoes!!! Our now 5 year old slaughter pipeline rescue was 17 degrees rotated in front right and 15 degrees front left at TWO years old. She had white line disease, was walking on eggshells, could barely walk at all and was debrided almost to her coronary band. Half of her hoof removed and I was in tears. She is now stable and an awesome, super sweet mare. At first we had to use glue on shoes to take pressure off that coffin bone and support due to debridement. She stabilized with small area turnout, a ton of hand grazing, an amazing farrier and vet and a full year of hard work! Keeping a 2 year old quiet took a lot of work! A new vet in the practice we use didn't believe she had foundered and had such severe rotation until she saw the xrays. No one who sees this mare would know anything is wrong. She is a pasture pet with a ton of groundwork completed, spectacular manners. Although she will never be ridden, she is the best and we are SO GLAD we did not give the last act of kindness. She is on Barn Bag (name of feed), comes inside before sugars are high in the pasture. She is NOT EMM and has no systemic issues, yearly bloodwork but we risk nothing that would flair a laminitis attack. Founder probably caused by some trauma, feed issue etc when she was a baby. Please don't give up! If she still has some sole depth there is hope! Rotation is not a death sentence. Our mare is not on pain meds and she runs like the wind! She has a forever home with us. She will be in ortho shoes for the rest of her life, and that is a small price to pay for her sweet kisses and good morning neighs. If you think it can't be done let me know and I will send photos! Our farrier sent her xrays to another journeyman farrier who told him, "Run from this one!". We are so grateful to all those who never lost faith and hope when our filly still had the will to go on! Keep the faith!! Bless you guys for all you do!
What a hard and great journey you all went through. As you said a small price to pay to have a loving horse around. Who cares if you cannot ride her!!! She is your miracle girl🐎🥰. Blessings to all of you from Silvana from South America Uruguay 🇺🇾
Hi Susan and pony tales gang. I hope all your horses and horse people are getting through the winter safely. Here in central Canada it got cold early but only a couple weeks of real cold temps so far, and all the crazy blizzards missed us altogether! 🤷🏻♀️ Anyways I just researched this daphnes story again, wondering if it was this same one I remembered where the laminitis had resolved? My thought at the time was that maybe daphnes coffin bone didn’t continue to rotate because she was pregnant? Because that ffgoal was taking all the available minerals and calcium which can I think include depleting existing calcium within the mare’s bones. Then again it could just be one of horse rescue’s miraculous happy endings!! I just thought I’d mention it since I assume you won’t be planning to breed daphne again, and her overall nutrition is probably much better now, but if a calcium deficiency can contribute to her recovery from laminitis you can ask the experts if this theory has any merit. That whole little family is cuter than buttons, I’m happy the owner chose to surrender them and that pony tales was there for them. ❤❤ Posted by Jen, day 15/2023

Holy Crap I don’t know why even as an Horse Trainer I still cry buckets if tears but I do!!! Thank you guys for being you and doing a fantastic job with the horses God see’s fit to send to you. New life is always a good sign but care is for all and you know that so well. 👏👏👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩🐴🐴🐴🇦🇺🇦🇺
Had me UGLY crying!.. my heart is hurting for this girl. Watching those days to buy on the camera date and then finally there was that precious little life one of God's greatest creations ever!.. and then finally on to her hooves!.. fantastic news so far just got to keep praying for this precious girl and her family and now her new caretakers. Are you thinking about gelding Louie? I ask that the Lord bless ponytails 20 fold. You are truly a blessing in the equine world!
@@PonyTalesRefuge that's so cool I must have missed something in that video probably during the time when I was ugly crying.. I'm so happy for him. Thank you for your quick reply I greatly appreciate that.
Hi all , it’s called power of prayer. wow awesome story. Thank you horse foot doctor. Love how nicely you keep your horses, love your facility and how clean it is with nice fences and love the stories about the horses. I like that your about the horses not so much the people! ( youre all great though)
So happy that Daphne was better than expected!!! This was definitely a crying episode!!! All good thoughts and prayers going out to her and that adorable baby
OMG!! I have been on pins & needles with you ALL!! OVER these two!! Had me crying too! She's so beautiful, LOVE HER COLORS!!! I wish I lived closer, I would Volunteer!!! Praying God continues to Bless your Labor of 💕 Love I have watched you all grow ever since Horse Plus mentored you!! Many hugs and massive admiration/Respect to ALL of you for the work you do! Wish I could contribute $$$$ . But for right now all I can offer are my PRAYERS 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 You are the Love of GOD in Human form!! 🙏💕🤗🤗
This was an awesome video, great filming angles...what an adorable colt, so full of 'it'...gonna be interesting to watch her heal and see where that little heathen ends up, that farrier is forming an awesome attachment...and who wouldn't...!
The power of prayer does work! I just said thank you for this great news that even surprised the farrier. LOL We can do it everyone if we keep the chain of prayers going up for her.
Thanks for sharing her story and progress. Do hope she only gets better with time. Your farrier is very special. He needs an easier post to trim from. Consider putting on your Amazon list. Makes sense with the feet you have to heal up.
Amazing video, you did such a great job! And no, I wasn’t crying along with you! 🙈 What a Story, what a sweet and beautiful mare with that lovely filly! Keeping Daphne definitely in my prayers - and hoping for an amazing update in the future! 🙏
Poor Daphine. What ruff time for her. How people could that to her. My god that makes me so angry. What these people did to her. And hopefully she get better. Really soon. Her colt is really cute too. And I hope he is a keeper too. My prayers will be definitely gos out to Daphne. Please get better girl. For your baby too. And I know the people at pony tails will take good care of you too. And give some love too.
Pregancy hormones, a good environment to thrive in with good feed and nice people, sturdy pony genes and luck can do miracles! Sometimes, all we need is some good pain relief and time, so the body can start to heal up.
Been binge watching hphs, through them I found out about pony tales...so now becoming a fan of you too...could you tell me if you also received payment through watched adds, because if so I'll willingly watch them ...🐴
This is what irresponsible breeding does .. a mare not taken care of and such an amazing mare 💙 .. a 2 year at her side that's a long time to not wean for moms sake , running with a stallion .. now she has to carry , with pain .. I'm amazed how the lamina hardened it was so bad before 😪 I don't know how I keep my sanity toward people sometimes
He attacked us over having Pauly come out to do our drafts as Fred would not trim drafts. He also would not shoe, so we had Pauly out for that and he flipped his handle. He is no longer our farrier.
Sorry to hear that is what happened. Did he not like Pauly? I mean if one farrier is not going to do certain types of horses you've gotta expect that you'd need another farrier to fill the gap.
Nice video and good work but i hate the over sentimental tosh of not letting the foal know. You could set up an infomercial in the stall and hire pr people he wouldn't know. By all means support the horse and foal but don't diminish the problem with arrant nonsense.

Daphne‘s poor little tail awwww
Wow that’s great news!
Appy with a "rat" tail....true to the breed from the Nez Perce Indians!
I would assume that she between him on her own
Not very deep bedding for a horse with painful feet?
