- The discussion focuses on the experiences and perspectives of Sam, a hog hunter who primarily uses Cane Corso dogs, and Richard "Schoolboy," an experienced pit bull enthusiast.
Some key points:
- Sam prefers using Cane Corsos over pit bulls as catch dogs, as he finds the Corsos easier to control and handle during intense hog hunting situations, without needing tools like break sticks.
- Schoolboy emphasizes the importance of hands-on experience and mentorship when working with working dogs versus relying solely on online information. He cautions against "keyboard warriors" who lack real-world knowledge.
- Both men stress the need for proper training, conditioning, and standards when breeding and working with hunting/working dogs, rather than just breeding for pedigree or appearance.
- They discuss the challenges of navigating social media and online communities, where misinformation and negativity can spread easily, versus the value of open knowledge-sharing among experienced dog people.
Overall, the conversation highlights the nuances and complexities involved in utilizing different breeds for demanding working roles, emphasizing the importance of hands-on experience, responsible breeding practices, and fostering a collaborative community spirit.
Most people have lost their GOD given instincts. Not a fan of government break down the word govern = control/ ment= mind. IMO epigenetic’s is real so when you weaken the man via food water air ect.. you weaken the once great animals that served us we attract what we are. There was once a time where dogs were a mirror reflection of their owners not today. Ty Joe and School boy and Sam . Sam is as real as they get. I have personally spoken to him on the phone several times and man just a cool honest dude. Thank you Sam for jumping on here. Love working dogs, hard to relate to this world most times , wish I was born in another time . God bless yall my kind of folks.
Your welcome and I appreciate your words and support. Both Sam and Joe are good people and dedicated.
