n downtown Yangon, “street food” takes on a whole other meaning, as makeshift restaurants spill from sidewalks onto the roads. With more than 135 ethnic groups and borders shared with Bangladesh, China, India, Laos, and Thailand, it’s safe to say that the cuisine of Myanmar is diverse and eclectic. It’s also safe to call it a delicious mash-up of the spicy rich curries of India, the garlicky sweet sauces of China, and the bright herb-filled salads and soups of Thailand. There’s nothing quite like it, and Yangon is a city built for snacking. The best street food in Yangon can be found at temporary carts set up by vendors each morning, and the stews and snacks sold throughout the day represent a wide cross-section of different cultures and ethnicities. < > source, SAVEUR

Thank you for the great video. It feels nostalgic to watch this as a Burmese living abroad. At 10:25, the food says corndog in the menu but written in Burmese. Seems like he misunderstood you were asking his name (Aung Ye Htet) instead of the name of the food. 😄Basically, you said his name before trying the food.
As a burmese, Im really pleased to see this video. I feel proud of my country. I feel proud of being a burmese. And respect you for visiting here while a civil war.
Burmese here…. Born in Yangon and been in the States since 1996… Really enjoyed how much fun you had … thanks for sharing as it brought back a lot of memories… take me with you next time you go back!
Myer, you’re so accommodative & humble. no doubt most of the vendors don’t speak & understand English, you still try your very best to understand them… and in all your video you greet people in their language & with your sweetest smile.. you take the challenge by trying their street food & always enjoy it. It’s not easy but you made it easy by being one of them… you’re such a friendly & down to earth brother & I really love watching your video.. you’re not being artificial or over re-acting, but you’re very natural & simple person.. love you brother🥰🙏
So Shan is one of the ethnicities in myanmar and their dishes are so good tbh. But next time try, mohinga (fish paste noodle), ohn noh khout swal(coconut noodles), tofu nhway with stick rice noodles (that’s made with chickpeas flour), tofu kyaw (fried), Rakhine mont ti (spicy rice noodle with fish soup). Try some burmese tea too (they will ask u for choices but just say “kya seint” so that it wont be too sweet
That street market is so nice. And you’re right! We must be cautious in what we eat and in what we drink esp those unfiltered ice. You always kept mentioning it in all your vlogs . And Myanmar people are so kind. Even the fruit juice vendor wants to give the mixture of banana and passion fruit for free. 👍🏻 be careful esp it’s raining there in Yangon

Myanmar and Sri Lanka have Buddhist-majority populations. In both countries, there have been instances of extremism and war crimes against minority communities, including Muslims and Hindus, leading to significant suffering.
You are horribly mistaken bro. I don't know about Myanmar but In srilanka mostly it is power greedy politicians who spread extremism among communities not ordinary citizens.
