This is great! I really hope you guys are successful in your mission to save your language. It would be sad to see it disappear as so many other old languages have done. :)

The Interior Salish languages are one of the most endangered language groups in the world. One of them is Kalispel and the other is Coeur d'Alene. In Kalispel (the Pend D'Oreille dialect) "Lemtsh," means "Greetings." In Coeur d'Alene, also known as Skitswish "Limlemtach" means "Thank You." It is extremely important that programs such as the Kalispel Tribal Language Program exist, because when you lose a language, you lose a culture.

Have you tried using social media to engage younger people? Or perhaps an app with translations and pronunciation?

A lot of these people don't know the real language is done with hand signs one hand feeds the other and we spoke small words that have a lot of meaning with the hand signs spoke by the sentence and paragraph, spoke of only of behavior,no names of people ,places and things , check the back history of all the native languages have the same new words car house and structure of family ,if half of u.s. Was inhabited by us then where are the names of the peoples ,places and things , one thing in history the native language has no soundings like English,...if the kootenai language is so different then why is the numbers 1 through 10 and why don't we have our own weight system,if a language has no math then where is the language, look at the sound symbols,...
    who's are those ?
