My former personal trainer treated me badly. She’s around 35, and a professional bodybuilder. She wouldn’t ask me about my schedule and she criticized my age by calling me grandma! I fired her, but still working out at the same gym. She had the owner Jason come over to me while lifting weights and ask me is that your truck parked outside? He had a bullying tone. Then he had his gym bar cashier who has a disabled daughter she works at the gym with everyday accuse me of parking my truck in the parking lot too! These people are on a manipulative power trip from hell! Jen is a negative narcissist who’s been bullying me!

As I watch this, it reinforces to me that very few therapists understand what real darkness is like. DBT and CBT, I think, are likely helpful to people who just need help organizing their thoughts and actions.

    • @DocSnipes

    • @danielraypickrel4316
      @danielraypickrel4316 ปีที่แล้ว

I was on the edge of taking an immediate exit often for years. The wisdom of DBT
is why I am still amongst the living.
      Currently not convinced surviving was
the kindest response for me personally,
but the damage to those to those who
attempted to help is more than I can tolerate
      so I prefer more suffering.
      I do have periods
      of intense love
      for humans.

      1. Get plenty of regular sleep.
      2. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
      3. Get regular physical exercise.
      4. Avoid stimulants like sugar, caffeine, and nicotine and consider adopting a healthy diet.
      5. Practice/master a regular form of stress-reduction like mindfulness, meditation, yoga, tai chi, taoism, and/or others to counteract the negative BPD coping habits.

The more I use the skills from this channel and from therapy, the more my SO becomes unhinged. It’s like she was also addicted to my emotional outbursts. As long as I acted out, my triggers being known and easy enough to push, the more she could deflect from any criticism of her own behavior. It’s a troubling trend.

How about actually fixing the problem, that makes me feel better.
Distress tolerance sounds like stuffing emotions and creating a build up.
There is so much unnecessary meaness that should not be tolerated.
I love change, if it's positive.
I do not need to accept abuse and bullying. I just need people to act normal and reasonably polite and ethical. People in HUD housing are not supposed to be a captive and vulnerable targets for the employees.

great videos. very helpful . thanks. interesting that christianity has always taught distress tolerance. They emphasized patience, acceptance and also offering up our sufferings as penance for our sins. Of course, we should not deliberately choose pain but it is inevitable so we can offer it to christ in thanks for his suffering on the cross for us.

@ustjayenjay All she is saying is that some things in life you have no control over and just need to learn to deal with just like any other person in the same situation would have to deal with it. Nobody owes you a damn thing in this life, especially not strangers. Its not the end of the world to feel upset for a period of time. Unpleasant? Sure, but its not unbearable and you aren't going to die. Life is hard and its hard for EVERYBODY. Nobody is special and you shouldn't take things so personally because nobody owes you
