  • Learn how to unclog the nozzle of your Flashforge Adventurer. You won't have to do this often, but if you own a printer you're going to have to do it eventually. It's simple once you know how and although we focus on the Adventurer the same basic steps apply to many bowden drive 3D printers.

    I'm no novice to 3d printing so I'm also no novice to googling for advice with a specific problem. It's great when the first hit is a concise explanation of how to fix.

    Saved - Had a 15 hour print absolutely bomb with what looked like insufficient extraction... followed the above and I'm off and running without issue again. Thank you.

    Thank you very much. I have only had mine for 3 days and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't load new filament. Thank you for being very simple about it and easy to understand, You saved me a lot of frustration.

    Thank you SO MUCH! I had no issues with my adventurer since the day I bought it. But today - after a 3 week break - I had these issues. With your tutorial I successfully unclogged my printer and I am printing again!

    Perfect video, thanks - this has already helped me twice and next time it happens I might remember how to do it... Just a question for my understanding and learning, what specific effect does the second step with the short piece of filament at 80 degrees have?

    • @JaycarVideo
      @JaycarVideo  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is called a "cold Pull" it allows the filament to form to the shape of the interior and merge with any excess filament still in there. As it cools to 80 degrees that excess filament should merge with the inserted filament, making it possible to clear out all of the debris

    Does your Bowden tube have some of ring on it near where it inserts into the extruder head? We were given an Adventurer 3, and we just have bare tube, and although it's hard to tell for sure, it looks like yours has something on it.

    I’m having a problem whereby the filament just isn’t loading. The cogs rotate and try and pull the filament in but it doesn’t load. Any ideas or videos on how to fix this on the same printer?

    • @JaycarVideo
      @JaycarVideo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey E, This is a fairly common issue with this model from Flashforge. Some fixes
      - The gears rotating, sometimes causing a clicking noise is normally a nozzle clog. If it is you can heat up your nozzle to 230c and find a needle that’s smaller than 0.4mm at the tip and push it into the nozzle a few times. This will normally unclog the nozzle but be careful sometimes the nozzle can leak out very hot filament and it will burn you.
      - Another cause of this is a faulty nozzle, in this case its best to remove the nozzle and swap it out for a new one. Just remember to adjust the heat calibration offset when you put a new nozzle in ( steps for this are on the bag the nozzle comes in)
      - The last cause for this is there is a blockage in the feed tube. In that case, remove the feed tube and clear the tube. Then place the tube back on.
      Please give these a try and let me know how you go!

    My printer has been printing fine for a good month, now when it prints straight lines it's squiggly, and hardly sticks to the platform. Will doing this fix that issue? Sorry I'm new to 3D Printing. I'm assuming this is also how you clean it when unclogging it.

    • @MTGJim

      Clean the print bed very thoroughly and then clean again with isopropyl alcohol.

    • @theknight7469
      @theknight7469 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Calibrate the bed level-had the same problem before but it prints much better after I calibrated the bed level and sticks without much glue.

    I have try this before and really works but now doesn't work I don't known if my nozzle doesn't work or is the white thing how can I check that?

    • @JaycarVideo
      @JaycarVideo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      - It sounds like a damaged / worn out nozzle in this case its best to remove the nozzle and swap it out for a new one. Just remember to adjust the heat calibration offset when you put a new nozzle in (steps for this are on the bag the nozzle comes in)
      Unfortunately nozzle's are a consumable part for 3d printers, and need to be replaced once they wear out

      You can unscrew the metal connector under the tube with a hex spanner

    My tube wont come out what should i do?

    • @JaycarVideo
      @JaycarVideo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This happens on pretty much all printers.
      - If the tube doesn’t come out, press down of the black ring on the collet, while doing this press the tube into the collet even more then pull out.
      - If the above doesn’t work, you can use a spanner to remove the collect without having to take the tube out of the collet.
      please give these a try and let me know how you go

    Aside from the bought comments here, doing this with the pushfit not being unscrew will damage its claws. You manufacturers just dont care do you?

    • @RobertNZ

      The very top of the assembly that holds the bowden tube in place is the release mechanisim. If you press the top portion DOWN towards the print-head with your fingernail as you apply very gentle upward pressure on the tube, it will release and come away easily. To remount it, you just stick the tube back in and give it a little gentle downward pressure. I sincerely hope this helps... Oh and as a sidenote, once you have cleared the head (with the nozzle tool provided with the printer for free) you don't need to do a cold-pull as well .... this is only needed in dire circumstances.

    Oi vey...you ruin the connection in the coupler by pulling the tube out of it like that, which will lead to having to replace it. To ensure you don't ruin anything, just remove the top cover of the extruder and unscrew the coupler.

    • @Glenrok
      @Glenrok 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's how they're meant to be removed. The whole point of that design of coupling is to allow easy removal/replacement of the feeder tube. If you push the black ring on top down first that will disengage the clamp teeth & allow the tube to be pulled out easily. Pulling on the tube withOUT depressing the ring, however, WILL damage the teeth & ruin the connector. Perhaps that was causing you problems??
