Mr Hussain Hakkani former Pakistan Ambassador to USA and scholar has written that at partition, Pakistan had a powerful Army with no enemies and was idling and made Kashmir their agenda to keep themselves relevant. Over years, they became the most powerful institution in Pakistan without responsibility but only authority.

Gora Sahab I am from North India and 50 yrs old. I have seen the pain and hurt of partition in the eyes of my elders when they revisit the stories/anecdotes of fateful times . Please make an episode on partition from Dr Ishtiaq Sahab. I would very much like to know the perspective of the story form Pakistani intellectuals like how they feel their side of the pain and hurt and the healing process thereof
The tragedy of partition will not be same from Pakistanis side, somewhere deep down they feel it was justified and it justifies their existence as a separate state. Even the best of intellectuals have very little knowledge of Hinduism and see us as Kaafirs and lesser than them. You will not gain much compassion and sympathy.
