  • This State Park consists of a trail to the top of Mount Pilchuck that is challenging, tedious and breathtaking in more ways than one. The 2,300-foot climb is on uneven terrain through forests that open onto fields of shale and steep switchbacks on an exposed slope. For your efforts, you're rewarded with 360-degree views of Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains from a wraparound balcony lookout tower. The trail begins in the Forest Service Land which requires a Northwest Forest Pass. There are about 6 miles of dirt road to the trailhead which was recently repaired in 2024. The views at the top are incredible! (Visited on a beautiful fall weekend 10/6/24)
