- Welcome to our van tour. We finished our van conversion in 2022. It was officially transferred on the logbook from a minibus to a campervan on January 23.

Our van is a 2007 Opel Vivaro short wheelbase.

Thank you for sharing this, I find these videos fascinating. I'm almost done converting a Mazda Bongo into a camper, I'm a disabled 69yr old woman and I'm feeling very proud of myself so far 😂. I didn't want to make it a permanent conversion, neither did I want to use the 3 rows of seats as a bed, as there's just me and my 2 small dogs, so I had tge back 2 rows of seats removed. Everything I've done so far is removableso that if I sell it in the future it can easily be converted back to an 8 seat family vehicle. I get a lot of inspiration from other people, from you I've decided to put in a divider behind the drivers seat, which I hadn't thought of, so thank you for that. I haven't really documented the process so far, but I think I may show the final version soon. Thank you again, and good luck with your travels.

What will your channel be called? I have a channel too but it’s a very small targeted audience LOL SO ya alls channels will grow so fast!
A tip for you, we used to use propane for cooking which was great, but because we live abroad cant get a refill in Europe. So the only option is Camping Gaz and what we did is this. Went onto ebay and bought 2 empty bottles and a regulator all for £20 as we knew a new full bottles are €50 each, but a refill is only €8.
Our Vivaro is an 08 and it is a great van, delightful to drive, had it since 2014.

Aw, thank you, I wanted to stick with the one colour scheme because the van is small, and I needed to keep a feeling of space.
Hello, new subscriber 😁 i have a Ford Transit passenger connect, a semi no build working on. My square ft similar. It now confirms why i want my bed/couch behind seat front . What a lovely design you have. Hope to see more of tour adventure🎉

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Thank you so much. At the moment we are part-time in the van and aiming to travel full-time for a while in early 2024. We are still working on the finance side of travelling, so hopefully, we will be able to get that sorted. I am currently writing a book, and I work freelance as a web designer.
Great video. I've just subscribed to your channel. I love the layout of your van. I have an Opel vivaro, which is currently registered as commercial. Is there any problem in relation to the internal height with getting a Vivaro re-classed as a camper here in Ireland.
Hi thank you for the sub. There was a minor problem when the SQI engineer came to sign off on the conversion he initially looked at the van and said it is too low, but after he got into the van and checked over the full conversion and checked moving around in it there was no problem. He said it was because we did a good job. I hope that helps. Hi, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The L-shaped couch is 58” long, the L section is 45” across, and the main seat area is 25”. A slide-out section makes it 58 x 45, and we add a small cushion at the end to make the bed a bit longer on one side. We literally made the couch/bed to our measurements and then built around it. I hope that helps.

How long did you make your bed ? and do you feel you made the right choice?
Hi, I'm not that tall, and Alan is only a tad bigger, so we decided to make the bed to fit us exactly. I sleep on the inside, and he has an extension bit that fits between the cupboard and the kitchen. I'm 5’ 5”, and the bed is a bit longer on my side. I hope that helps. We definitely made the right choice for us. I initially wanted a fixed bed, and we did put in a temporary conversion to try it out, but it really limited the space inside an already small van. I have pictures of the two conversions on my website tinaorourke.com/alice-our-new-campervan-conversion/ We wanted the most storage we could get into the van, and we could get this with the bed size.
