    I feel so bad for all the Inhuman actors. And they seem really passionate about the show in interviews.

    • @Gabriel360LIVE
      @Gabriel360LIVE 7 ปีที่แล้ว +93

      That's part of marketing. Actors are supposed to act really passionate about the show (or movie) to help sell it. Behind closed doors, however, they all may be talking to each other about how bad it is.

    Disney needs to fire Perlmutter. Everything that has been a problem at Marvel was due to his cheapness and vindictiveness.
    He was a suit in the toy business whose mindset has always been make it cheap and screw the competition.
    That kind of mindset doesn't work in the billion dollar level Marvel is at now.

      She's better known than Rocket Raccoon, and the Guardians of the Galaxy films seem to be doing okay! Also, people laughed at the idea of Ant-Man getting a movie until it happened, and was awesome, and the second one was even better! (Also, think of all the movies NOT based on well-known works. Everyone ever, as well as the entire premise, is unknown to ALL if it's an original work!) Also, think of all the movies starring high-profile characters that failed. Good writing can make Ant-Man draw sellout crowds; bad writing can keep us laughing our asses off at Batman and Robin 20 years later.

    I have zero problem with never having the X-Men in the MCU. It never made sense to me that some people have powers and are treated like gods, while others are attacked for having them. It doesn't make any sense. That said, if they could ever work out a cross-universe single feature film, I'd have no problem with that.

    • @Hulian-fn7xj

      The sense is people born with powers are Mutants and people fear them, others that gain the powers other ways like Captain America, Spider-Man etc, people mainly love them... yeah there is a fine line. It don't help that a lot of Mutants are bad or just alien/monster looking too.

    Great video, but you forget a crucial component: Jeph Loeb. He's the guy you showed when you mentioned Scott Buck. Where Perlmutter may be in charge, he's also a notorious recluse and really doesn't involve himself creatively; he just makes decisions, whereas Jeph Loeb is far more hands on when it comes to Marvel TV and he's equally, if not more responsible for the direction MARVEL TV is going: He's the one also pushing for the multiple series across different networks such as Runaways and Cloak & Dagger, the latter far more suited as a Netflix show, he demanded the rushed schedule for Iron Fist; hired Scott Buck who was the show-runner; cast Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick over (apparently more suitable, but older candidates, such as Ryan Phillippe and Maggie Q) to save on costs; didn't think it was necessary to show Kun-Lun and helped write the poor dialogue during filming. As for Inhumans; once again Perlmutter was the one pushing it, but the scheduling, casting, creative decisions, storyline and costs fell under the jurisdiction of Loeb, so once again, the blame can be directed equally towards him.
    The smartest thing Bob Iger could do is remove Perlmutter and Loeb from Marvel and put Feige in charge of the entire thing, where he could select managers for each of the components: one for Comics, one for TV. He would most likely course correct it by removing any plans for multiple shows, cancel any existing shows apart from Netflix and just focus on those shows, but slow down in terms of output, they're dwindling numbers and decline in quality is because its happening too quickly and its oversaturated. Audiences don't mind waiting for content if its good, Feige has proven that, the Marvel Netflix universe needs to take a step back and slow down, Inhumans and Agents of Shield (as good as it is) needs to die a quick death and things need to change very quickly.

    I think some of the biggest reasons it failed was so many stupid moments in the show as if they didn't care.
    Like why does Black Bolt (the man that can destroy everything around him with a whisper) have a *TWO WAY* communicator?!
    And Lockjaw's teleportation was as if he had just been learning it and figuring it out even though they had him for *years*.
    And I won't get into what they did with Medusa but damn. If they didn't want to do or *couldn't* do the characters then they shouldn't have even bothered at all.
    It was like getting slapped in the face if you were a fan of the Inhumans and just dumb and cheap if you're just a casual Marvel TV/Movie fan.

    The Inhumans failed because it was born from a corporate mandate in which instead of trying to get the rights to X-Men back, Ike Perlmutter declared war on Fox and turned The Inhumans into something they ultimately weren't simply because they had a few similarities to the X-Men, and as a result, everyone hated it.
    If anything, this television series is ultimately going to be The Inhumans' legacy. We could have had something great and unlike anything before it, and instead, we get... a very confused product created as a result of a corporate executives revenge trip, and it just shows that nothing good comes out of revenge.

      Shawn Smith Jeph Loeb was also the guy who brought us Daredevil and Jessica Jones. On the other hand, Ike Perlmutter always wants cheap products, he wanted civil war to be cheap and that was the reason kevin Feige left, so why wouldn't he want Inhumans to be cheap? Producers like Jepb Loeb and Kevin Feige have to go to Ike Perlmutter to be granted his permission on any decision they make and he might disagree with them and order them otherwise just like he tried to do with kevin Feige and while Kevin Feige left, Jeph Loeb is still trapped.

    • @WebSpyder777
      @WebSpyder777 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you want to go that route, then technically Perlmutter brought you Daredevil and Jessica Jones since he is Loeb's boss. Loeb had little to do with Daredevil or Jessica Jones other than an EP credit. Frankly he lost all credibility when he got defensive over criticism of Inhumans. If he can't accept that the show sucks then what hope do we have that he will learn not to do it again?

    I think it was wise of the MCU to give the inhumans the boot. They’re nowhere near as likable as the X-Men and I don’t think they ever will be. I don’t much like the idea of the X-Men in the MCU either tbh, I think they can survive well doing the more experimental stuff at Fox, and there’s enough content to make a stand-alone X-Men universe. The MCU on the other hand is already crowded enough as it is, and how are they going to introduce hundreds of mutants into an already established world? No thanks. I’d rather see 2 X-Men movies a year than 1 every 2-3 years

      The Inhumans are interesting in Agents of SHIELD, it was the Inhumans series that screwed it all up. I'd love to see characters like Quake appear in the movies. With the appearance of the Skrulls in Captain Marvel hinting at a possible Secret Wars plot, characters like Quake and Yo-Yo/Slingshot getting a Secret Warriors movie somewhere down the line would be interesting
      As for Mutants in the MCU and how crowded it supposedly is, that point doesn't really make sense. Infinity war having so many characters in one go was more a one off, a huge event that took a lot of big name heroes working together after 10 years of set up to take down the biggest villain the MCU has seen to this point, and many of the original cast in the MCU are likely to be backing off a bit now as they've had their time to shine. It's the perfect time to introduce the mutants as we could see these new powered people emerging in a world that is used to the Avengers and see how it's handled here, as powered people aren't new. But yeah, the MCU isn't "crowded" it's got a lot of heroes but they do their own thing and handle their own problems, they might have references or cameos in other movies, but it's just because the universe is shared so it makes sense to at times have those links.

    • @ecliptorcalrissian5014
      @ecliptorcalrissian5014 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YES! I'm not alone! Multiple studios working on these mean more Marvel movies per year, which is awesome! Also, X-Men's Quicksilver is the best character ever and we're working toward the reveal of his parentage, while Age of Ultron's Quicksilver is significantly less (a) fast, (b) cool, and (c) alive. Also also, you'd have to deal with a question the comics have had a hard time answering for years: why does the world hate and fear mutants yet it's just fine with all the non-mutant supers? Scarlet Witch and Phoenix both do mind stuff, and can both become super dangerous if their powers increase beyond their ability to control them. The world is going to beg the former for autographs, yet try to murder the latter if even she just saved them. Not combining them limits crossover potential, yes, but with Hugh Jackman stepping down, we'll never see Wolverine and Captain America establish their comics relationship anyway, and with Spider-Man with Sony, they're unlikely to team up with him, either! The Inhumans debuted in the Fantastic Four, so they're a natural teamup that's now possible, but... watch the video above to see why that movie's unlikely now. :p So yeah, I see absolutely NOTHING to gain and a lot to lose by any heavily alterations or reboots to the X-Men just to pointlessly shoehorn them into the MCU.

    • @714KH
      @714KH 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video, I'm still gonna watch (never heard of them until the show announcement!) bc I want to see the trainwreck ha ha! Also, I like that you provided info on the production and team at Marvel, sigh...it's sad bc a cameo with Daredevil, Jessica and Luke would be really dope. I mean? They are efficient enough to help out on Earth and it'd make no sense why they wouldn't. The "Phase 2" of Netflix MCU should set up possibilities for the characters to mingle on the big screen.

    I watched the first two episodes and I didn't think it was that bad. Just not good enough to show at the iMax. I can see how the show really needed a bigger budget. The costuming could have definitely been better. Every time I saw Gorgon, who has hooves, it just looked like he was just wearing hoof shoes someone roll-playing a furry would wear.

    I agree with overlaying X-men. If I can't make a movie about my own characters then I don't want anyone getting money from it. Inhumans require LOTS OF CGI. Because of that you can't show this on small screen. it has to be a movie or have budget more than GOT. We know how bad cgi can even in high budget movies (looking at you man of steel) This is also why Iron Fist failed (plus other reasons too such as bad acting storyline)

I was in it to see where this was going, and I was waiting for the biggest battle when they get back onto the moon but now, I cannot even watch it because it’s canceled. I really enjoyed watching this show and I honestly do not care what other people got to say about it. It was really good I enjoyed it I don’t care about nobody else and honestly I don’t really care about peoples opinions on the show or on a movie if I see the movie was good and I recommend it, even if it was trash, the storyline was amazing. You need to appreciate the hard work and dedication to these people that put the time in effort to make this project to where it’s at today

    When the Inhumans movie was postponed indefinitely, I understood. The lead character doesn't talk (and usually doesn't emote much, literally the strong and silent type), the main characters are the ruling family of their society (so not much conflict in their situation), and the effects costs would be huge to do them right. Plus there wasn't much of a fan base. So I understood. Then they announced the TV series.
    Anson Mount is doing a great job with the Black Bolt, and I think the whole cast is doing well. But my favorite character is Medusa, because of her hair, and now the creators cut her hair to cut costs. They've put the family on Hawaii and split them up, so they can have some kind of conflict, but I'm not worried about them, they'll do fine. These people have powers capable of challenging galactic threats - the earthlings they encounter are not much of a danger.
    The Royal Family characters are fun, but they don't really work as lead characters in a story. They're normally pretty static. It would have been better if the showrunners had the Agents of Shield visit the Inhumans on the moon for a couple of episodes, and left it at that.

  • @onemariobro

    Honestly the show really isn't that bad. People like to bitch about the lack of "super powers," but the Inhumans really aren't about that. They're more based on character and political intrigue than rock em' sock em' action. As it's been called before, it's game of thrones in space with a little bit of Huxley's Brave New World thrown in. My only beef with the show so far is Maximus shouldn't have been able to cut MEdusa's hair with a regular razor, and it'd be nice if they didn't kill Triton in the first 15 minutes. Other than that it's a pretty decent Inhumans story.

    Hope the responsibles for this mess learn their lessons, and even tho i hope this doesn't ammount to a big loss of money for the company, it should hit them hard enough to make them realize rushed out, heartless projects, don't pay in the end.
