Love hit hard and fast, and has stayed. Now, the kids are gone and in college and that makes me sad..VERY sad, but lucky to have Lee. I can't imagine being alone again with anyone else. That is something else to consider, the person will be alone with you for the rest of your life once the babies are gone, you had better get along with them!

I just have to say that I'm 24. I got married last year on my birthday actually, so I was 23. My husband was 37 difference. So that's 14 years. And as you, we had been dating for 2 months when we decided to get married, and 6 months later we got married. And you know what? That was the best decission of my entire life, and today I live with my best friend, so here's to us knowing what we want and actually embracing things as they come. Cheers!

I'm watching this 2 years after you published this (thereabouts) because I'm a new-ish subscriber. I was married at the age of 18, 2 months before my 19th birthday. I became pregnant with our first child two months after we got married (yikes!). Although we married young and had our kids (all 3 are now adults) we had no regrets. It was a good thing that we had our family early because my husband died 4 years ago, and at least he lived long enough to see the birth of his first grandson. So, Kathleen, live your life with joy, in love, with no regrets. I wish you and Danny many many years of happiness. And, on the subject of the age difference, that's nobody's business and it doesn't make a difference in the long run, so ignore the haters. I got married a month after I turned 20, hubby was 27. We met online and only spent 2 weeks together in person. He was military on the east coast and I was a west-coaster. We had our first son a week before our first anniversary, and we have just celebrated our 19th anniversary! Now our son is joining the military. (I also get told I look way young still)
Also, I was at a restaurant last week with my 18 year old and hubby and the waiter asked me for ID 😂 Mortified my son who is only 1 year away from legal drinking age here in Canada 🇨🇦 So, I am pretty sure I think he thought hubby was my dad.
I met my hub and we became engaged after 2 weeks of 1st meeting! Then we married after 2 months of knowing eachother!! We just celebrated our 22nd!! Thank your hub for his military service! My oldest sons in the Army.
My advice: wait to have kids. My husband and I have been together since we were 19, married at 24 yrs old, first child at 29. My husband and I got to really enjoy ourselves and being "us" together. We traveled, we went out for drinks and dancing. I finished nursing school, we bought a house, and we felt like we were needing something more in our lives. Our "partying days" weren't fun anymore. It's like we were maturing and "growing out" of it just being us two. We felt we were ready to enjoy the next phase in our life and we weren't getting any younger (obvi) lol. It all turned out perfectly. My husband and I were at a good point in our carers and we had no financial issues supporting children. It worked. We're able to give our children what we didn't have growing up. don't let anyone make you feel bad for not wanting to have kids yet. IF it happens unexpectedly then by all means enjoy it and welcome it but stick to your decision to wait until you feel the biological clock start ticking.
I'm with you about the age difference thing, my guy is 8 years older than me and it is not a big deal at all... I feel that once you're out of grade school and college, age difference doesn't matter as much anymore (whereas during school a 1 year difference was HUGE haha)
I'm 23 and my husband is 7 years older then me. People always have things to say about our age difference and how I married young. Don't let it bother you. Age is just a number when it has to do with two legal adults.

I always say I want to marry my boyfriend before I'm 20. I'm 19 though so I don't think it'll happen, his family is weird about it. We've been through it all, though. My older brother & sister died, my dad battled cancer, my one big sister moved cross country & the other one moved to the other side of the state, my anxiety got ridiculous after all that because I went from having 4 siblings always either living with me or 5 minutes away & now 2 are passed away & the other 2 I see MAYBE 3 times a year. Plus my dad went from being vibrant, goofy, and loving to withdrawn & depressed. I felt so abandoned & alone. My boyfriend stuck with me through it all, always encouraging, the only constant in my life. He says the same about me, he doesn't see ever loving anyone but me. I definitely understand marrying young, the heart wants what it wants & sometimes life just has a way of putting you on the fast track to growing up.

I don't think they mature later from a biological standpoint, I think patriarchy 'enables' them...and society also pushes women to marry older by that and other reasoning bc of pure misogyny...so this mindset is very toxic, esp for women. However if the marriage is good, fair and equal,and actually honoring the vows; no cheating and actually stay for the bad days too (ofc not toxic and abusive relationship whether it's emotional or physical) I guess it's the best one can expect in this day and age...but educating myself, I realize I was just so used to misogyny that I didn't realize a lot of thing was bc I would always think worst case scenarios and when it wasn't I would find excuses if it concerned ppl I loved and I wasn't ready to face it truth, bc one you do it becomes a very dark world, esp when trying to confront others abt it, esp men, but also women, which understand as this defense mechanism is something we've been taught and still I feel uncomfortable confronting men and everytime I hear men standing up for female empowerment I feel like praising them which is a part of the issue, bc equality IS a basic human righr which everyone should fight for whether it concerns racism, misogyny or homophobia, it's the job of those endowered to use it to enable these social systems and stigmas, as social priviledge is something no one is entitled to. My mom and dad are 12 years apart and were only together for about a year before they got married. Like dated, engaged, and married within a year and a half. I always adore you but after this video I also have a TON of respect for you as well. You handle yourself with so much poise and maturity, it's no wonder your relationship has been successful! I don't see a thing wrong with marrying at younger ages. As long as you're both in love & doing it for the right reasons, go for it! My bff married at 17, she hadn't even graduated yet. They were each others 1st. They had a beautiful, intimate wedding. That was almost 17 years ago (dang getting old!). They have 2 beautiful kids & both still work at the same places they started in high school. They aren't super rich, but they have a wonderful, happy marriage & family. That's most important. My daughters Dad is 7yrs older than me & I *use* to look years younger than I was. So I got a few comments, but it was always from new ppl in my life that didn't know us. We knew each other all our lives, started dating when I was 14, dated on n off 7yrs. I had my one & only child at 19. And even though things didn't work out with him were still friends. We get along better apart, which is fine.

Honestly 7 years is no big deal, my parents are 8 years apart in age. Now being married young, this made me have peace. My husband proposed to me on my 19th birthday and then we got married 4 days later. I didn't want a wedding either. So the courthouse worked for us and that's it. The worst part for me during this first year of marriage (anniversary is Sept 28, 2017) was the rumors and the judgment from marrying young, the pregnancy rumors, the "she's easy" or "she's desperate" rumors and judgments. My family were so supportive and that has helped with my marriage. Thank you, I'm so glad I found this video, it has helped me find peace

I got married at 22 and I too have diagnosed anxiety. I think it is easy to know when you find that one person that understands your anxiety and loves you and can help you through it. My husband and I got married 9 days short of being together for a year.
A lot of people don't realize they have a rising sign and a moon sign too. When you say your sign, that's your sun sign, but your moon sign represents your emotions, and your rising sign is how you present yourself to the world. You should look into those signs of yours and maybe you will understand more.

While I believe some people were being malicious I think others were just... being extremely (albeit rudely) blunt? Like we get it, one looks older and one looks younger, no need to comment 'he looks like your dad' simply because its the first thing that comes to mind. My wedding was done in a church that had enough room for 18 people to sit, no heat or electricity, in the snow, in Michigan, and my wedding dress was a 50's style red dress. The marriage is 100% the important part. I am so glad you feel that way, you have a smart heart and soul.

Yes, you're right it is important to a lot of people I have been married for over 3 years and yes we had a wedding but if I couldn't of had a wedding and just went to the court house I would of been perfectly fine with that because I still would be married to my best friend and happily married!.. the wedding is just one day it's not that important compared to your marriage, your lifetime with your husband/wife... just my opinion.

I got married at 19...a month after i turned 19. My husband proposed at his turning blue ceremony at basic training. We got married on a whim and I wouldn't have had it different. Being a military spouse isn't easy, but it's doable! I'm about 7 weeks into my his first tour to Afghanistan and it's not easy (especially since i stayed at his duty station instead of going home) but i'm making it work. I wish y'all luck in your future deployments!

My housband is 11 years older than me and for me it's perfectly normal and natural, but people really lie to make you feel like you are doing the worst thing ever. I just have to say that I'm 24. I got married last year on my birthday actually, so I was 23. My husband was 37 difference. So that's 14 years. And as you, we had been dating for 2 months when we decided to get married, and 6 months later we got married.
And you know what? That was the best decission of my entire life, and today I live with my best friend, so here's to us knowing what we want and actually embracing things as they come. Cheers!

I'm watching this 2 years after you published this (thereabouts) because I'm a new-ish subscriber. I was married at the age of 18, 2 months before my 19th birthday. I became pregnant with our first child two months after we got married (yikes!). Although we married young and had our kids (all 3 are now adults) we had no regrets. It was a good thing that we had our family early because my husband died 4 years ago, and at least he lived long enough to see the birth of his first grandson. So, Kathleen, live your life with joy, in love, with no regrets. I wish you and Danny many many years of happiness. And, on the subject of the age difference, that's nobody's business and it doesn't make a difference in the long run, so ignore the haters. I got married a month after I turned 20, hubby was 27. We met online and only spent 2 weeks together in person. He was military on the east coast and I was a west-coaster. We had our first son a week before our first anniversary, and we have just celebrated our 19th anniversary! Now our son is joining the military. (I also get told I look way young still)
Also, I was at a restaurant last week with my 18 year old and hubby and the waiter asked me for ID 😂 Mortified my son who is only 1 year away from legal drinking age here in Canada 🇨🇦 So, I am pretty sure I think he thought hubby was my dad.

My advice: wait to have kids. My husband and I have been together since we were 19, married at 24 yrs old, first child at 29. My husband and I got to really enjoy ourselves and being "us" together. We traveled, we went out for drinks and dancing. I finished nursing school, we bought a house, and we felt like we were needing something more in our lives. Our "partying days" weren't fun anymore. It's like we were maturing and "growing out" of it just being us two. We felt we were ready to enjoy the next phase in our life and we weren't getting any younger (obvi) lol. It all turned out perfectly. My husband and I were at a good point in our carers and we had no financial issues supporting children. It worked. We're able to give our children what we didn't have growing up. don't let anyone make you feel bad for not wanting to have kids yet. IF it happens unexpectedly then by all means enjoy it and welcome it but stick to your decision to wait until you feel the biological clock start ticking.
I'm with you about the age difference thing, my guy is 8 years older than me and it is not a big deal at all... I feel that once you're out of grade school and college, age difference doesn't matter as much anymore (whereas during school a 1 year difference was HUGE haha)
I'm 23 and my husband is 7 years older then me. People always have things to say about our age difference and how I married young. Don't let it bother you. Age is just a number when it has to do with two legal adults.

My older brother & sister died, my dad battled cancer, my one big sister moved cross country & the other one moved to the other side of the state, my anxiety got ridiculous after all that because I went from having 4 siblings always either living with me or 5 minutes away & now 2 are passed away & the other 2 I see MAYBE 3 times a year. Plus my dad went from being vibrant, goofy, and loving to withdrawn & depressed. I felt so abandoned & alone.
My boyfriend stuck with me through it all, always encouraging, the only constant in my life.
He says the same about me, he doesn't see ever loving anyone but me.
I definitely understand marrying young, the heart wants what it wants & sometimes life just has a way of putting you on the fast track to growing up.

I don't think they mature later from a biological standpoint, I think patriarchy 'enables' them...and society also pushes women to marry older by that and other reasoning bc of pure misogyny...so this mindset is very toxic, esp for women. However if the marriage is good, fair and equal,and actually honoring the vows; no cheating and actually stay for the bad days too (ofc not toxic and abusive relationship whether it's emotional or physical) I guess it's the best one can expect in this day and age...but educating myself, I realize I was just so used to misogyny that I didn't realize a lot of thing was bc I would always think worst case scenarios and when it wasn't I would find excuses if it concerned ppl I loved and I wasn't ready to face it truth, bc one you do it becomes a very dark world, esp when trying to confront others abt it, esp men, but also women, which understand as this defense mechanism is something we've been taught and still I feel uncomfortable confronting men and everytime I hear men standing up for female empowerment I feel like praising them which is a part of the issue, bc equality IS a basic human righr which everyone should fight for whether it concerns racism, misogyny or homophobia, it's the job of those endowered to use it to enable these social systems and stigmas, as social priviledge is something no one is entitled to. I don't see a thing wrong with marrying at younger ages. As long as you're both in love & doing it for the right reasons, go for it! My bff married at 17, she hadn't even graduated yet. They were each others 1st. They had a beautiful, intimate wedding. That was almost 17 years ago (dang getting old!). They have 2 beautiful kids & both still work at the same places they started in high school. They aren't super rich, but they have a wonderful, happy marriage & family. That's most important. My daughters Dad is 7yrs older than me & I *use* to look years younger than I was. So I got a few comments, but it was always from new ppl in my life that didn't know us. We knew each other all our lives, started dating when I was 14, dated on n off 7yrs. I had my one & only child at 19. And even though things didn't work out with him were still friends. We get along better apart, which is fine.

Honestly 7 years is no big deal, my parents are 8 years apart in age.
Now being married young, this made me have peace. My husband proposed to me on my 19th birthday and then we got married 4 days later. I didn't want a wedding either. So the courthouse worked for us and that's it. The worst part for me during this first year of marriage (anniversary is Sept 28, 2017) was the rumors and the judgment from marrying young, the pregnancy rumors, the "she's easy" or "she's desperate" rumors and judgments. My family were so supportive and that has helped with my marriage. Thank you, I'm so glad I found this video, it has helped me find peace

My husband is 2 years older than me, we got married when I was 18 years (3 months shy of turning 19) We just met for the first time ever 5 months prior. We have now been married for 18 years. My wedding was done in a church that had enough room for 18 people to sit, no heat or electricity, in the snow, in Michigan, and my wedding dress was a 50's style red dress. The marriage is 100% the important part. I am so glad you feel that way, you have a smart heart and soul.

Yes, you're right it is important to a lot of people I have been married for over 3 years and yes we had a wedding but if I couldn't of had a wedding and just went to the court house I would of been perfectly fine with that because I still would be married to my best friend and happily married!.. the wedding is just one day it's not that important compared to your marriage, your lifetime with your husband/wife... just my opinion.

I got married at 19...a month after i turned 19. My husband proposed at his turning blue ceremony at basic training. We got married on a whim and I wouldn't have had it different. Being a military spouse isn't easy, but it's doable! I'm about 7 weeks into my his first tour to Afghanistan and it's not easy (especially since i stayed at his duty station instead of going home) but i'm making it work. I wish y'all luck in your future deployments!

This is so nice! I got married when i was 18 and i had so much trouble with other people judging me. My housband is 11 years older than me and for me it's perfectly normal and natural, but people really lie to make you feel like you are doing the worst thing ever.
Now, 6 years after that, we're still together and love each other like the first day

I'm in the exact same boat! My husband is also in the Navy & we got married literally 7 months after dating (but we had been friends for almost 3 years previously). We both got married young as well (me at 22 & him at 25) but when you meet that special one you just know. Some people can't understand that but it's okay, love shouldn't have to be explained
I though I was alone in this world!! I got married at 18 too and look super young. A lot of people say that my husband looks like my dad, or people actually think he's my dad. Which also bothers me soo much! And when people ask me how long I've been married I have your same reaction! So I totally understand you.
