Hi Rick. So nice to see you again. Yes, this was a very popular painting of Bob's. Probably because of the squirrel. I do like to change things up once in a while. It's fun. Thank you for watching. Dear.
Stunning painting, Yovette!!! Beautifully painted. I like the Artisan Linseed Oil for thinning out the water mixable oils for fine details and doing a signature. Hugs to you my friend
Hi Yovette so lovely to see you again I enjoyed watching, it amazes me sometimes when I watch a painting being done with all the pre work and seeing it develop into a finished piece this was one of those times. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend. PS I will email you an update when I've visited the hospital on Friday 3rd March.
I was just thinking about you today Clive, when I was at the dentist's office. It's been about a month now, and I was going to check up on you. Hoping to hear very good news from you Friday! And it does help to see the prep work. I think it makes it easier to do the painting. Hugs
Great job!!!! Yes, we have bee watching Cobra Kai here. Very good series. I guess the 6th is going to be the last. Johnny's character is very funny. It's great to see you painting left handed. I'm left handed too.
Isn't that the greatest series? We are so anxioux to get it back, and so sad it will be the last of the series. The characters have been wonderful, and LOVE Johnny's character! 🤗
What a blessed artist you are. Your ability to paint and create artwork is impressive. You truly put a lot of effort into this piece of art. New subscriber here 😊stay connected always
Great painting. I too started using water soluble paint for the same reasons as you. Like you I am struggling with thinning out the paint for branches.
I am happy to hear that you have started using water mixable oils Marlene. I am really hoping more people will try it and love it as much as I do. I have found that you really do need to thin the paint out really well before making tree branches. And I have also found that thinner works better than oil medium. Just make sure the paint is not too thin or that will not work will either.

I do have ideas on tiny twigs or limbs Margaret. See if this video helps you. The secret is the brush you use, and thinning the paint to just the rigth consistancy. th-cam.com/video/Raa1lxS3FV4/w-d-xo.html
Nice painting Yo. The tree reminds me of an oak tree. Do you prep a chip brush before using? I have ruined a couple of canvases using one. The hairs covered the canvas. I couldn't sand them off.
Sometimes I do prep my chip brush before I use it Jana. I will pull on the hairs to get the loose ones to come out easier. They don't all come out, but it does help if you just brush it back and forth on something really hard, like an old canvas or cement or just anything you have laying around. You will still get some loose hairs when you do the painting, but they're large enough that they come off easily if you pick them off right away. Oftentimes I will also cut the bristles to make them a little bit shorter. I have all different lengths of chip brushes because I cut on them. Sometimes I will even cut them at an angle. It just all depends on what I'm doing on the canvas.
Yes you can Karl! I have used the liquid white on my canvas in place of the Titanium/linseed oil mix. Because you use so little of it, it works just fine. The only thing you have to be really careful of is cleaning the brushes extremely well after you use them. That is because the liquid white stays in the brush, unlike the water mixable oil paint. You will still have really good results. So feel free to use that. You can also use the liquid clear in place of the water mixable oil. But again, you have to be very sure to clean the brushes extremely well.
@@PaintingWithYovette Thank You Ms. Yovette!! I will definitely do that. In fact, I use one brush for Liquid White anyhow and clean w soap and water. You’re the best! Best to Sis!
Hi Deanie, Unfortunately I can't get Indian yellow in water mixable oils. That is a transparent yellow. So I had to use regular oil paint which was Bob Ross brand. It is OK to mix the two as long as it is less than 25 or 30%. It works out really well as a stand in.

@PaintingWithYovette I'm sorry, I've seen 2 or 3 of your videos. I've tried to use his liquid white technique but felt it was a complete disaster. I was wondering if you used the same application technique between the clear oil and the white. I've had better results using just oil so I don't know what I did wrong
@@hookedbycrafting5348 I have really good results using the clear oil medium with a blue shop towel Hooked. However the liquid white seems to be a different consistency, and I have found that with the liquid white a brush works much better. One has to be very careful that it is not laid on too thick. Most beginners put on too much which causes problems. So just be careful with that. Use as little as possible. 🤗

@@vickimarsh2385 I find Vicky that all my paints colors seem to have a different consistency. For instance, my yellow is extremely thick. Very unusual, but that's the way it is. What I do is just take the slightest amount of thinner or oil to thin my yellow before I use it. I guess I would tell you to just put the tiniest amount of oil or thinner on the tip of your brush before you go into your paint color. That should thin it out just enough. If it is a color that I need a lot of, then I will just add oil to the pile rather than on the brush. But either method should work for you.
