      You are so welcome Mama Winks! There are so many different ways to do mountains, and this, of course, is only one way. It is great fun to experiment with all the different ways that you can do it. And you will definitely end up like in one better than another. Best of luck to you.

    Hi Yovette! Fantastic mountain lesson! Varying your peeks no steps and no teepees, and how to place your shadows based on your light source. Yes, oil paint in the freezer! I have a funny story of when our youngest son (when he was a teenager) was rooting around in the basement looking for something delicious in the freezer calls out that all my paint palettes with cling wrap were in the way of his food LoL. You are such a wonderful teacher and the mountain scene you created is spectacular. Big hugs to you Yovette!

      @PaintingWithYovette  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dena,
      The way the freezer works for storing regular or water mixable oil paint is wonderful. Can't let anything get in the way of a teenager's food though. That would not be good. Thank you for the nice compliments! They mean a lot coming from an accomplished painter and teacher like yourself! 💕

    Thank you for this video, Yovette! I love all of this, such great information, and I can't wait to practice these tips! Can you go into more of the "what, why, how" of freezing your paints? I thought that was so interesting!

    • @PaintingWithYovette
      @PaintingWithYovette  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes of course Rick! When I'm through with a painting, if I have enough leftover paint, I put it in a seal tight container and store it in the freezer for later use. It will keep for many weeks, if it is done properly. By that, I mean sealed tight. Kind of like a tupperware container only it's made for paints. The brand I use is "Masterson's Stay Wet Palette" 12x16 or 9x12. You can find them in any art store or on Amazon. It is a wonderful way to not waste any of your paint if there is enough of it that is usable. Thank you for that question. I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

    Thank you Yovette for a great video. I switched over to the water soluble oils and am having such a hard time with my mountains. The paint just isn't thick enough for me, but you make it look so easy and perfect. I guess I just need more practice. I lost my hubby in December of 21 and just started painting again so maybe that's the problem. Your work is always so beautiful!

    • @PaintingWithYovette
      @PaintingWithYovette  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, it is so hard to lose a hubby Cheryl. My condolences. You and I will make it through till we see them again. I use Winsor and Newton Artisan paint. Most of the paint is nice and stiff like the Ross paint. Some of the colors are a bit thinner, so I had to adjust the lightness of my touch. Mountains are very hard to learn in the first place, so I can relate with that. Try different pressures and see if that helps. It does get easier with practice... Where have you heard that before? LOL. 🤣 Thank you for the nice compliment.

    Hi Yo 🌹
    Great video! I noticed something kind of cool. At the bottom of the mountains, some of the blue blends with the orange resulting in a soft greenish tone suggesting far away trees. 😊🐿

    I was so nervous about making the paint break on the mountain! My instructor Darrell Crow said go for it! I did just that and it worked! I had confidence and it allowed me to paint tons of mountains and people noticed them and it is just about everything I paint.

    • @PaintingWithYovette

      You should definitely try this in acrylics Nicki. If your touch is light enough, and it's a heavy body paint, it will probably work. I believe it's better with oils, but experimenting is good.
