At 0:57- For 9 years I was the diagnostician at a charity auto auction (trying to breathe life into donated crapmobiles). I experienced the "possum where the battery should be" phenomenon, except the possum was unseen at the bottom of his nest of tightly packed leaves. I reach in, start pulling out handfuls of leaves, then "HSSSSS!" I almost had a heart attack!
I'm the one who shot the clip at 1:24 (I use the name SpacemanDoug on other sites) and an extra detail is it the brake rotor was so thin that aside from causing the brake pad to fall off, it caused the piston to extend out so far that it made the caliper leak all of its fluid out and cease, so that had to be replaced too and it was caused all because the customer didn't change his brakes for so long
9:30 Fuel pump primes the engine when you turn the ignition on. Bad fuel pump probably. But it could be something like an auxiliary oil or coolant pump.
Ha. I had a customer that drove his jeep from Cleveland to Miami, and back, in 4 low. For our Euro friends that Paris to Vilnius and back. His transmission was shot.
Your last clip towards the end is most likely a cracked cylinder head….. I’ve had one of those after stitching a car back together aswell as it was pushing oil out from a brand new rockercover gasket and squirting out coolant… 🙈🙈
I have a love hate relationship with these videos. I love them, because they genuinely make me feel better knowing that I take better care of my cars than these people, and that my problems are definitely not as bad as theirs. But I hate seeing this because it just makes me weep for these poor cars.
Thank God I got a Toyota prior to their push for hybrid! I'm going to continue changing my oil every 3-3500k miles and pray that nothing major happens to the car. There are a ton of horrible drivers out on our roads, and a big percentage of people who have no insurance! Get a dash camera, people. It's crazy out there!
@@johneeboiabsolutely true! I changed front and rear brake discs (rotors), brake pads, brake shields, brake hoses and wheel bearings on my wife’s VW e-Golf. And front springs and dampers too. And believe it or not, EVs rust too!😅
@ so an electric car killing people due to poor maintenance is better than a fossil fuel car killing people due to poor mantenance, because it has less moving parts?
@@johnt.848 well the Kia / Hyundai engine recall and debacle has been going on for years. Not that difficult to find the info. Owners can’t control crankshaft oil journals not drilled thru to my knowledge. Back yo you…

Kia should get rid of their engine cars since so many are having problems and go total EV at least this way they are getting rid of so many problems with engines and other issues. You have to wonder what will happen to EVs when some of these lazy drivers get one and treat it like their old cars I wonder what the most common problem will be?

That first clip really does bring a whole new meaning to 'exploded view'

Yep, "frugal" means something else to some customers. Spend a dollar chasing a dime...
Well we all know that one don’t we. Driving a car on the tick and expecting it to be fixed for free ✌🏽

My god. How can anyone be that clueless? Quite easily, apparently!
I like the low key, low VOLUME background music.
Typically, when an engineer says 'exploded' he means something a little different.
But that'll do too, I guess.

10:15 - Likely had washer fluid put in it?
Ok 4:23 totally sounds like shoes in a dryer but what the heck is actually happening.
Always funny, thank you!
Foam in the coolant reservoir is because some numpty confused that for the washer fluid reservoir.
7:15 sounds like bearings on the blower motor.
Yep, definitely sounds like bearings on something relatively small.
10:30 -- I had that very same issue with my Pontiac G6 when it was having these weird overheating issues. Inquiring minds want to know.
Most likely head gaskets, as it can cause combustion gasses to get into the cooling system and cause the bubbles you see
"Exploded View!" !!!

The possum in the Beetle returns! They are quite harmless guys, despite their looks.
Don't corner one, they're nasty.
@@onkcuf You'd be nasty too if a giant cornered you. They will just pass out and you can move them. They are harmless.
at 10:16 my wild card guess would be oil has been in the coolant and they used soap to clean it out and never removed all of the residual soap
Either that or washer fluid because they mixed the washer and coolant tanks up
Wheres the list of
I've never seen many of those
The cure for possible wheel bearing noise is impossible wheel bearings.
If you ask someone stuck that tire
I'm wondering if 10:27 is a blown head gasket.
PCV ,not PVC due- mix . 😆😉.
People need electric cars, because they have no clue how to do maintenance on their gas cars, trucks 😮😂
You really think that will improve with electric cars? Because they also need maintenance on wheels, brakes, shock absorbers and so on.
