This twist really doesn't make sense given we saw Lumpus and Slinkman as kids attending Camp Kidney in 1 episode, but then again in another episode we saw Lumpus hiring Slinkman when the camp 1st opened, and in yet another episode Lumpus talked about how he's related to The Big Bean and inherited Camp Kidney so I guess this show isn't known for having a strong continuity.

I’m not saying that this twist is the most clever thing or anything, but he and Slinkman being there as kids could have been what made him want to impersonate a counselor in the first place. Also, if he was an imposter, he could have merely tricked Slinkman into thinking he was a legitimate hire with Slinkman having no idea that the guy wasn’t actually a worker.

  • @franciscorafaelmontielpale7854
    @franciscorafaelmontielpale7854 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

This finale gets weirder considering in other episodes it is shown that Lumpus is recogbized as a Scoutmaster even by the top authorities of the Kidney Scouts. Also that he basically owns the camp as his grandfather inherit it because the original owner died and Lumpus grandfather being the nurse of the camp ended up becomung the new owner as nobody wanted the camp (also considering that Lumpus grandfather being now the owner essentially begab to steal stuff from campers and paint it as him confiscating stuff, which was the topic of an episode.)
So its weird that although Lumpus is a certified scoutmaster and is essentially the owner of the camp, that he went all the lenght to do this. Then again he has been shown to be extremely unstable, and to be in love with the Scoutmaster at the ither side of the lake who watches over the female Scouts.

If you really think about it, Slinkman wasn't present after the beatdown so maybe Lumpus beat Slinkman to death or into a coma for nearly exposing his secret identity by taking them to town and the painting clothes idea was probably used as an excuse to keep people from questioning where is Slinkman.

NGL I forgot the plot of this episode was painted clothing. But yeah, it's Heffer! So glad you mentioned the alternate ending with the original design. I'm glad you thoroughly enjoyed this episode and can't wait for that finale you've been leading up to!
P.S. Thank you for the shout out!!!

I watch a little of Camp Lazlo while it aired and the fact that there was no true hints or clues that Lumpus was a true impostor and not just erratic or crazy was just mind blogging.

Anything Joe Murray makes is just charming, he currently has a show on PBS called Let’s Go Luna.

One of my favorites. My mind was blown when I first saw this episode, and it left me with more questions than answers.
I think Filburt also makes a pseudo cameo appearance in the show. One of the members of the grand legume council was blue, wore dark shades, and appeared to have a hunchback, probably from the cloak hiding his shell. He of course was older in appearance as well. I think it's the same voice for the character as well.
    "These pancakes are terrible."
And I just remembered his name out of nowhere because I haven't watched the show since I was a kid.

It helps that Filburt's voice actor is on the show as Edward. In fact, I think all three of the main actors were on this show.

To explain the rain not affecting their painted clothes plothole: There is an underlying theory that I have that without the distraction of the time travelers in the initial timeline, Lumpus started off the advancement of their civilization immediately, to the point that they wouldn’t have been affected by weather with their advanced technology.
In this timeline, now that they were interrupted by the time travelers, the rain set in before they could begin any meaningful advancement.
    Or because it’s just a cartoon 🤪

Oh my gosh! I remember this last episode! It was so weird and memorable, strangely enough. Then again, part of the charm of the entire show was how weird it was. This episode is also much weirder looking back at it as an adult compared to watching it as a kid.

Camp Lazlo's ending was definitely a weird one. I watched Camp Lazlo before I knew about Rocko's Modern Life, so the ending was even more bizarre lol

The police officer wanting to join in on the body painting with the other campers is the funniest and boldest joke I’ve ever heard on this show.

I liked Camp Lazlo a lot growing up. I remember first seeing a trailer for it in a movie theater. It's a show I'd like to revisit, I wish they would put it on HBO Max.

Weirdly enough with how wacky episodes were I think I saw this one sooner and thought this was just a solo episodic episode to know this the ending makes it more horrifying lol.
