Episode 9 - Magic of Representational Systems
#LifeCoachPinaki led a discussion on the different sensory channels and their impact on behavior. He explained that the primary representational system is focused on emotions or feelings, and how this can influence how one perceives and reacts to situations. He also touched on the importance of olfactory, gustatory, and kinaesthetic senses in processing information and how these can affect behavior.
#LifeCoachPinaki emphasized the significance of the sixth sense, which involves interpretation or meaning making after processing information from all the five sensory channels. He used the example of a physical session in an office to illustrate how olfactory and gustatory senses can impact perception and behavior.
#LifeCoachPinaki discussed the concept of "Predicates" in NLP, explaining that they are the words and phrases used to express thoughts and experiences. He emphasized that our perception of reality is shaped by our primary representation system, which can be influenced by our senses such as sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste.
#LifeCoachPinaki also highlighted that our linguistic preferences or patterns are referred to as Predicates in NLP terms. Pinaki provided examples of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic predicates, and encouraged the team to explore these concepts further.
#LifeCoachPinaki led a discussion on decision-making and communication styles, asking participants to choose the most important approach and how they communicate their feelings. he also presented four options related to individual preferences and how they affect work performance, with participants choosing the most important option for them.
#LifeCoachPinaki led a discussion on understanding and connecting with others through sensory language. He emphasized the importance of listening to the words people use to express their experiences and mirroring their sensory language to create a stronger connection.
#LifeCoachPinaki also mentioned the possibility of identifying a person's primary representational system through activities like the one they did, which had four options. The discussion also touched on the idea of using different sensory languages if the primary one doesn't work, such as visual, kinesthetic, auditory, and auditory-digital (logical).
#LifeCoachPinaki emphasized the importance of understanding and leveraging the Representational Systems to improve communication and relationships. He suggested that by identifying the preferred learning and communication styles of others, one can enhance personal and professional relationships.
#LifeCoachPinaki also highlighted the benefits of understanding one's own thought processes, behaviors, and preferences, and optimizing learning strategies. He recommended adapting communication styles to match others' preferred systems to increase the chances of being understood and building rapport.
#LifeCoachPinaki also discussed the benefits of using NLP, including increased business productivity, personal development, and improved relationships. He also acknowledged the need for practice to fully absorb the concepts, as well as the importance of being observant and attentive to the words and predicates used by others.
#LifeCoachPinaki emphasized the importance of understanding and utilising different Representational systems, such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic, to effectively communicate and connect with others. He suggested that one should practice identifying these systems by observing and listening to others' words and body language.
#LifeCoachPinaki also advised using the First Person words (like 'I', 'Me', 'My', 'Myself') to maintain control and focus during conversations with self. He further suggested that one could practice these skills by engaging in conversations with colleagues or even during sales pitches.
