  • Daragh Lynch and Radie Peat - Lankum play ‘Hares on the Mountain’
Recorded in Dublin, Ireland, 28 December 2018
"The tune Radie and I played is a version of ‘Hares on the Mountain’ from the Davy Graham and Shirley Collins album ‘Folk Roots, New Routes’, but the style of playing is what both Bert and Davy are renowned for. We love to play this at Lankum gigs, and on this guitar, it was an absolute pleasure."

I like this but there is another version on here where Radie sings it in a lower key which I think is even better. It has a slower tempo too which I think suits the song more. They are both worth listening to though.

I agree with you Alan - this is grand but the other version is utterly enthralling and profoundly moving.

Bert Jansch lived above my auntie in Gilmerton, Edinburgh. Her dad used to bang on the roof when he was playing too loud 🤣little did he ken how influential he was lol
