    Warning: For newborns please make sure to have the swing fully reclined. Because I got mine used it was already set up for me and after a couple days of using it for my newborn I happened to be sitting across from the baby in the swing and noticed the incline seems high and the baby's head didn't seem well supported. I didn't find how to adjust for newborns online but found in the back you can adjust it to lay flat. This is very important, a newborn could stop breathing if at the highest incline.

    To incline or recline, press both buttons on the back of the seat and lift or lower the seat. The buttons have bubble looking grips on them. Squeeze both sides together and adjust the seat.

    Thank you so much, I actually bought this product from another individual from OfferUp and I don’t have the manual, so this video definitely helped me to figure out what the button at the top for the seat positions… I was so confused as to how I was able to adjust the seat positions. So again thank you for this video.

    Thanks for the video. Quick question, other than the baby not losing human touch why did you mention to not put baby in for a long time? Would it be an issue using it for 5-6 hours at night while we sleep?

    • @NewParentsInTraining
      @NewParentsInTraining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      According to American Pediatric Association, "If your baby falls asleep in a car seat, stroller, swing, infant carrier, or sling, you should move him or her to a firm sleep surface on his or her back as soon as possible." It's not safe for babies to sleep in a swing. Also if you get a chance look into the Fisher Price Cradle's instructions, "Prevent serious injury or death from falls or strangling in the restraint system:
      • Never leave child unattended.
      • This product is not intended to replace a crib or bassinet for prolonged periods
      of sleep.
      • Always use the restraint system.
      • Discontinue use of product when infant attempts to climb out (approximately
      9 months). "

    • @dominicc8343
      @dominicc8343 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends of the age how long you leave them in. Newborns could get flat head Syndrome if they stay in there for hours every day in one position. AT THE VERY LEAST Change head position every so often

      According to the company they didn't set a age limit, however the "maximum weight limit is 25 lb (11.3 kg). If your child weighs less than 25 lb (11.3 kg),
      but is really active and appears to be able to climb out of the swing, immediately discontinue its use".
