11:17 in, and I'm just like you on this topic. And Jace, I know those demons myself, but work on telling them to take a hike. You are dearly loved and missed in the Coffee Stain world. A whole bunch of people came over to your channel for a reason. So, yeah... I understand how how it is to believe in yourself sometimes, so let us help with that heavy lift sometimes. :-)

You guys are the gold standard of how community managers should be. I don't feel like satisfactory would be what it is to people without the community management team actually being apart of the actually community. It's a game and you guys kept it positive and laughed with us and at us along the way in the best ways. I have not seen a community like this in any other game and it's only like that because of you guys. To say you were awesome doesn't even begin to express how truly amazing you guys have been especially given the way the world is today. You guys were and are the escape we all needed, you felt like the friends we could turn to just to get away from it all and just have a good time. So thank you Jace, I'm going to continue to suport you in what ever small way I can even if it's just 20 min of watch time and a thumbs up on the vid. Keep on making "shit games" and I'll happily be there to check them out with you.

You might not be at Coffee Stain any longer, but a part of you is embedded in Satisfactory. I can not play it without thinking of your vids and how awesome it was to watch the game evolve and grow and you being one of the major faces to associate with it. I really think you set the bar for how an early access game should be handled and others should take note of what you guys have accomplished. Thanks Jace!!

    Pillar-chan! UWU
In all seriousness though, you helped foster probably one of the best communities for a game. You earned so much respect and I hope you can feel a sense of pride and the level of love the community has for you. My friends and I looked forward to the CM videos from you and Snutt, and loved everything you guys did and we REALLY appreciated the straightforward and honest timeline expectations for the game. We were happy to wait for 1.0 because you kept us informed about what was going on, whats being worked on and what we can expect. So thank you, as someone who loves this game, you are amazing!

Your videos always feel like visiting a good friend at home, coming through the front door, and immediately starting a nice and cozy chat about everything and nothing. It's good to see you were able to quell those demons. I believe in you from the bottom of my heart.

  • @ElementalNimbus
    @ElementalNimbus 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +9

As someone who struggles with my own demon that seems similar, I can say I intimately understand that struggle and how hard it can be. Especially in how it can undercut all logic and reason, which can make it even more frustrating to talk about.
I say this because while all your contributions to Satisfactory and its community were great, and certainly worthy of praise and celebration, to some people like myself seeing you overcome that inner-voice - and be able and willing to talk about it, means quite a lot too. I know it isn't a war you can ever really "win", that alone makes it hard to fight it some days, however actually seeing someone else with similar problems stand back up, dust themselves off, and pitch themselves back into the fight is... powerful. That alone is worthy of respect. So when I say these words, I do hope it sinks in a little bit how much I mean them.
    Thanks Jace, helps a lot!

Jace, you are worth way more than you could ever think, seriously. What stands out for Satisfactory beyond any other game that ever existed, is the way the community managers were so open about how the game was progressing, even when thing were not quite right. How your personality got an entire player base behind you and watching that was truly amazing, and the time and effort that was obviously put into every video was and is truly appreciated by myself and I am sure all the other Satisfactory players. Often when watching one of your or Snuts vids I wondered how do they do that? Why aren't other developers doing the same? and then it came to me why other developers, especially the AAA developers, could not do it even if they used your videos as a template, it was your personality and sincere love for the game and its player base.
I hope what ever you do in the future you will experience moments like this many more times. What you have achieved as a community manager and also as a developer of Satisfactory is in a single word priceless.

Hey Jace. Thanks again for your contributions. You not only helped build a legendary game, but also built a community, and showed Satisfactory to the world. You took a path that you didn't know what the hell you were doing but despite that you persevered. and in a way became a leader. As I told you in Discord, You and Coffee stain wrote the book on Ethical game development and meshing with your player base. and I still stand by the idea that, The book you wrote is fucking great Jace, And is the gold standard for how Community managers NEED to be to help game devs reach and listen to your audience.
Thank you so much for helping create a legendary Adventure. Now go out there and make another one!!!!

I don't comment on the videos I watch very often and when i do, it is usually a quip or attempt to be funny. In this case though, I will make an exception. I was drawn to Satisfactory because of the gameplay, core loop and my prior experience with Coffee Stain titles. I stayed because of the absolute amazing community. It was obvious from the first video I ever saw, which you did, that your passion and enjoyment was translating directly into helping make the game and community a better place. So thank you for everything you have done.

I've been following Satisfactory since November 2018, and you've been a huge driving force for building the community, especially in the beginning, the community wouldn't have grown so nicely without your help. I loved watching every single video about satisfactory or coffee stain, as you always made them funny, even if it was just a skit about not getting any work done. These videos made my day! I understand your reasons for moving on, but your impact really cannot be overstated.
Thanks Jace, helps a lot! ❤

    Honestly Jace,
I have more than like 500+ hours in Satisfactory and it was picked up as I had seen some videos and it seemed like my style of game. At the time I was studying and had a lot of issues with routing and how it worked. I played satisfactory as a little brain exercise to help me stop seizing at problems that felt to big to calculate or work on. One of the main reasons I stayed playing this game was the amazing work with speaking to the community and actively making fun and engaging videos, respecting the players of the game and their input. This truly feels like a game where the developers and players built it together and its amazing to be a part of it and without your work I doubt so many people would have stuck around as we had a face to trust with the information given and taken.
Be proud of what you have been a part of and Thank you for it all.

My big SF achievement was going from a 960 MW Solid Biofuel plant to a 24 GW Compacted Coal plant. A second fun thing was Global alluminum belted to a single factory and made to ingots using Sloppy Hos and An*l Electrodes... I forget the ALT names. A third almost achievement was nearly-global head-lift oil pumped to spire coast using only 2 Mk.2 pumps, a zero-set Valve, and a industrial fluid storage. A mini achieve was making enough copper powder to make the 4000 thingamabobs at the end, using a single constructor.

Jace, you are valued. Don't ever doubt that. Satisfactory may not have ever been finished without your contribution. Helping the community stay informed, stay engaged, and stay excited for what is coming. That, in turn motivates everyone to keep going and make satisfactory even better.
Now, on the eve of 1.0, we have to take a moment, and look back, thanking every developer, every early access player, every person who shared their experiences, and especially, all the great community managers who kept everyone up to date on everything happening. You're awesome, Snutt is awesome, all the players are awesome. All the current and former employees at coffee stain are awesome, even Simon.
Keep your head up, don't let the negativity win. Be the awesome person we all know you already are.

I have mad respect for anyone who is able to setup nuclear power and/or earn the employee of the month mug legitimately. Those are not easy, and I consider them my two biggest accomplishments in the game as well! A close third would be my giant steel tower, complete with a single power control room I can use to turn on/off any floor (this was created before priority power switches were a thing), a full packaging/unpackaging system, and a few other pretty cool features. 😊
But yeah.. I actually offered all my buddies in my Discord gaming group a $100 Steam gift card (no joke) if they created a fully automated nuclear power plant or finished the game. Not one person did it.

These words you shared in the video truly resonated with me. I just watched it again, and it's fascinating to hear your perspective-how you downplay compliments about your work and how people almost have to force them on you. It’s hard to grasp because not everyone has that humility, but it makes it all the more essential to emphasize how huge your contribution to Satisfactory has been.
You’ve been an integral part of building this world, and now that it's reached version 1.0, it's like watching the factory you helped create run at full efficiency. Your role as a community manager might mean you get a lot of attention, and at times the feedback might seem too good to be true, but it’s a reflection of the profound impact you’ve had. The way you always acknowledge the rest of the team-it's endearing, and of course, we know it’s a team effort. But that doesn’t diminish how much you’ve personally touched this community.
You’ve brought more than just a game to life; you’ve built a place where people feel connected, where they find purpose and joy. Your work has been the foundation that has given so many people an emotional anchor. Your videos and streams-where we get to see the person behind the scenes-have only deepened our admiration for you.
Your kindness shines through in everything you do, and it’s that warmth that has made such a difference. You’ve been a beacon for this community, and we love you for it.

For me, it was Nuclear Power. I shyed away from it for the longest time, because dealing with radioactive waste was scary. But when early access gave us plutonium... and a way to sink uranium, I gave it a shot. I build the factory at the Waterfall Uranium location (you all know the one) and set up the manufacturers, an ungodly amount of water pumps, and far above them all, the Silos themselves. Along with blenders and a particle accelerator on the top level (to keep the radioactive section contained) I had a fleet of drones coming in from other factories to provide the necessary components for the Fuel Rods, as well as packaged fluid to process the waste into useful products. All of that, for 8 reactors running at 250% efficiency. I've seen other builds blow mine out of the water, but that was the first time I had to solve so many logistical problems at once to complete a singular goal.
    Nuclear power is HARD.

Everytime i thought "wow, they keep adding cool small things and a lot of quality of life" at some point i saw the Power Line zipline quality of life update and i still remember it, because it was such a smart thing to add to the game imo. I bought the game on sale a long while ago and never played, started this year on U8 and fell in love. We laid our Save to rest and will start into 1.0 heavy tomorrow. Really liked the way the turbo fuel power plant came out. The lighting helped a lot. But poor Pillar-chan, he needs a sign, like, "This is what FICSIT does with slackers." or something. 🙂 Hope you can be on some launch streams tomorrow. You deserve the recognition, 100%.

Definitely my nuclear plant was my favorite EA moment. It is perfectly load balanced for all radioactive components, makes full use of a Uranium node and fully process the waste. Most goods come in by train and there's an awesome sorter for distribution of all imports. The waste processing was "underground" in one of the giant holes in the grasslands.
Edit: You and Snutt did an awesome job and built the best video game community on the internet.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say this but you and the team are what makes the game what it is. Sure the game is great, but there are tons of great games. What makes Coffee Stain what it is, is the team. You guys are so amazing. The others are right. This is the gold standard of Games Dev. Thank you Jace. Its been a fun ride, cant wait to see what the next chapter has in store for you and your studio, and the coffee stain team.

I still remember the time you explained the Epic Store exclusivity window and the money it afforded the studio. You owned it, sympathized with those who were frustrated, and explained, in specific terms, what it meant to the studio. Most often those things are not told to us and not done so respectfully.

Awesome stuff Jace thanks for your passion and energy into the community.
My greatest Satisfactory achievement to date was not quite achieving a 106 hour golden nut. I was trying for sub 100 hours but only missed by a small amount.
Also I wasn't in the 128 session, but I was in one of the preceding 64 person sessions.

Thanks to you I started Godot few months ago as I mentionned already, still waiting for my promotion, but now I got to apply one of my ideas and started a twitch channel, so I can stream my new save on Satisfactory, some Euro Truck Simulator, and maybe some Godot stuff as well ! So yeah, thanks jace, helps à lot !

I did a minimum factory build, which builds every item in the game with one 100% producing building. Everything else is 250% overclocked and optimized to the max. Massive factories are not my thing.
Also i did my own spreadsheet, which can calculate everything you can produce in the game from 1% to 250% overclock.

AS I know how it is with those demons, let me tell you the one thing you might take to heart:
you are not the expert on your own worth, so tell those demons that - unfortunately - they have no authority in that matter. They MIGHT think they are correct, but they are not.
Your contributions are meaningful, have been and will be.
You inspired me personally on the matter of community management and I am just but one of the people you touched.
As you stated: remember Pillar-Chan. you can carry those demons... even with wet feet (poor Pillar-Chan)

I like that the game was ported to UE5, which because of the lighting system is nice because now there's true darkness.
The world can be cast into darkness now but I'd rather have the sky light turned off because it would take hours to block the sky. My intention is placing a horror environment within the game. I would have to just utilize the caves and build paths to them.
