Have you slept “under” your blanket? I was thinking about buying a sheepskin rug to replace my feather down comforter which only last a few years. I cannot seem to find any thoughts on the matter other than for babies to sleep on - nothing about adults. So i was just wondering if anyone is using a sheepskin or a fur blanket to sleep under & if theyre too hot ans/or too heavy to sleep under.
@@McCormickLeatherandFurs Thanks for replying back. Yeah, thats what i keep reading and i think im just gonna have to take the chance & try it out, as you said. Its a bit of an expensive gamble, but worst case scenario, i end up with a nice floor rug i guess. 🤷🏻♂️
@@stevej.6674 My goat hide, that I skinned myself, is quite warm. I imagine sheep is warmer- thing is I don't feel TOO warm. I actually feel too hot in say a polyester plush, compared to real fur. I think that even a heavy fur is potentially much more breathable. I hope that helps!
If ya want your pelts skiined out differently find abd deal with a trapper/hunter directly. Trappers and hunters deal with fur buyers that sets the standards for the fur industry. We sell put up fur to there srandards of the big fur manufacturers and fur buyers they deal with.
Thank you so much for making this. This info is very hard to find from an experienced furrier
Your welcome glad it helps a bit
I've always wanted to make a rabbit fur blanket using rabbit pelts. But I don't know how to combine pelts.
Love the way you work

I honestly don't know, sheepskin usually is used to sleep on top of for the dense cushioning and warmth. You could purchase a small one and try it

Yes. I usually work directly with trappers own fur.
