The list is solid. Very scary. The Timby S is a great mech. Very cheap for the amount of gun it brings with great mobility and solid armor. My only complaint about it is if the arms go, the mech is down to 2 machine guns XD it should have at least a couple torso mounted ammo bins... How did you do? I went 1-3. Managed to pull out a win finally against Jesty. I feel like my dice luck overall was lacking hahaha.
Last game today, I was 4-0... the dice gods who abandoned you all flocked to my corner. I was crazy lucky the whole tournament, including in bonus games when I blew the head off Pirate's Timby S with an SRM TAC. Vs Jesty is a nice win, though, must have been a good game!
@@TrailblazerBT it was. I dismantled his force lol. The IS meaty bois were too tough. He got unlucky at several points tho. Crit the LRM 5 out of my shadowhawk instead of the 1 of 2 ammo bins which would have killed me.
Btw I meant to say about the lack of torso SRM ammo, I think it's actually a strength of the S. It's not that often that you lose both arms and are still in fighting shape otherwise, I'm very happy to have the danger of ammo explosions mitigated by the clan CASE
@@TrailblazerBT The ammo is definitely very well crit padded. Clan mechs do tend to have mainly arm mounted weapons for carrying BA ur right. As a spheroid I like my torso mounted main guns tyvm.
Phantom C is a great hunter/striker unit to harass your opponents and punish them making mistakes in positioning and initiative activations, but I if might be so bold to say, I think the firemoth(dasher) H is even superior Sure, it falls apart if an enemy so much as sneezes at it, but 20 movement points, 9 hvy small lasers, and a targeting computer means it can get behind whatever you want and open it up like a tuna can. And it's BV is crazy crazy low, I think its only half the BV of the Phantom C. It's complete lack of armor/structure just means you have to be supremely tactical with it. Just it existing out on the flanks means you're opponent has to respect its presence not let a heavy or assault get isolated from support covering its rear. And when things begin to clench up as ranges close, it can swoop in the saturate your opponent's target priorities or prey upon the fire support. Really hoping you post more about your tournament experiences and tactics, love the videos.
Dasher H is great and it's a go-to mech for a lot of Clan players in MRC. I really wanted to have a strongly-armored force in this tournament but next time I play Clans I will probably try the H. The Phantom was probably the MVP of the whole list though.
@@TrailblazerBT very good to know, thank you. Would love to know more about how these types of tournament matches go, it would be really cool to see more analysis of battle force picks and tactics used in these tourny matches!
Oh I've seen MRC tournament rules , looked very Clan biased unit restrictions so you can't own Clanners by having more units to activate .......... And the leap of logic to say that inner sphere pulse weapons are equal to their Clan equivalents was amazing
@@mathewkelly9968 Is that the summer of profit thing? It happens in an era when IS has lots of access to Clan tech so that might be part of the thought. But I would handle pulse differently if I were running things anyway, I don't think SPLs should count toward any limits
I say not a legal star , I also say you can't really use elementals as an indicative sink unless your elementals are trudging across the table as they lose their activation on a mech or on a transport , I blame the BT computer games for that misunderstanding
This is all far too technical. My approach is, "I want this 'mech for sure. Now what else can I cram in here up to my limit of units and battle value that will in some way diversify my capabilities?" For my Summer of Profit list, that first machine was the Devastator. Everything else was me scrolling through the appropriate list on MUL to find something interesting, then checking it out on MegaMek and going, "Yeah, that could work."
Sorry about the audio popping on this vid guys, I was too close to my mic when I recorded it!
As a new player I really appreciate videos like this & woukd love to see an entire series especially for us beginners & novices.
Nerdy Overanalyzed has a classic series of videos on fundamentals of BT tactics, might be exactly what you're looking for
I enjoy all of Trailblazer videos
Hell yeah battletech strategy! Love it.
Seems like a nice, well rounded star. I’m interested to see how the actual matches went down and what the opposition was fielding
I've been waiting for a video like. Competitive CBT thoughts and concepts from a pro.

Wonderful stuff!
Would you do commented battle reports with tactical analysis on megamek for exemple ? That would be great
Working on something along those lines, it's very time consuming so it may be a while

This tournament you were allowed 36 points of PLs for IS and only 24 for Clan
@@TrailblazerBT they've gone to 30 per regardless of faction in their new one , 36 to 24 seems way more reasonable

How does one switch to Inferno missiles? I want to do so but don't know where the rules are for such.
Rules are in Total Warfare, in Meganek you configure the unit in the lobby to change ammo types

With the map size you could unload your BA turn 1 or 2 most games

Future tournaments I will probably take it easier, this was my first and I really wanted to max my performance
