The Kobra 3 does have an auto leveling and claibration and now they have updated the firmware which I think re-levels it before every print. You can also turn off the purge tower and set the purge lower to stop a lot of waste , but it can cause colour bleeding

I did the early bird special. I started with setup and leveling and tried a test print that came on it. It doesnt adhese the first layers very well and if it makes it half way printing without slinging prints around, it does a major layer shift and drags the pringt around. I didnt get my camera and I havent been able to print since day 1 and now it just sits. Contacted Anycubic and nothing.

this is the exact vid I was looking for. I have a Bambu A1 mini, A1, and a P1S. Placed an order for the Kobra 3 combo because it looks nicer and is cheaper than the A1 combo, on July 1st. To this day, they still hasn't ship it. I just canceled the order and got a refund. Then placed an order for another A1 combo. I don't want to have to deal with a machine where I have to calibrate and adjust stuff to get good prints. The Bambu just makes good prints on its own.

Thanks for sharing, you've done a decent review and mentioned all the weak spots of kobra 3, but to be honest, I wouldn't say that it's a bad product.
I just recently got my Kobra 3 and it's a steal. At this price point I expect some amount of jank from a 3d printer, but so far it was way better than my previous kobra 2 pro. There are many things with their printers that require you to take a deep dive into servicing and setting up 3d printers, instead of just printing your stuff. For example, from watching your video, I think your printer could use either an x-axis gantry tramming or leveling the bed.
Also, print speeds are mostly marketing wank, if you are not printing a high volume of commercial stuff, go with the slow/quiet mode. The prints will be way more consistent.
Multicolor prints are notoriously wasteful, which is true for most of multicolor 3d printers, since purging the hot end every time costs a lot of filament.
One undeniable major pain point is the software side of things. Anycubic slicers do the job, but they are very lacking in options. You can get better results if you set up stuff properly with orca, but then you are forced to go with USB drives. The whole anycubic cloud thing kinda sucks honestly. And that's where I hope to see some improvements over the next months.

Just got my Kobra 3 this is only my second printer my first was an Anycubic I3 Mega which I had done some minor upgrades too over time but it's been an awesome printer so I figured lets give this a shot it's time to upgrade to higher speed and multi color. Not sure what is causing the issues here but all I can say is mine has printed almost perfectly right out of the box. Just a couple tweaks in the slicer (using the Anycubic Orca Beta) and items I have just printed recently on my old printer are even better on the new one in 1/5 to 1/8 the time in single color. Multi color prints have come out well considering how new the tech is. I did some prints with the shipped firmware and some with the latest firmware all were great. I wouldn't let one persons issues stop me from buying a Kobra 3, I hate to see something being bashed that doesn't deserve it in my opinion.

You mentioned the camera, prepare for more disappointment. I got mine, also shipped separately from the printer and filament. It's the lens, board and cable, you have to print the enclosure. It goes underneath the left side of the x-axis bar close to where the cable and filament tubes go through on the side. You'll see the circle and rectangular holes in the metal bar there, that's where it connects.

It looks like real-time monitoring through the app so far, and the refresh rate doesn't look too bad but the quality isn't great, but that's as expected...I don't see any recording option in the app, unfortunately. It's a bit odd because to use the camera, the lights on the printhead are disabled, so the image is pretty dark, though the camera has lights on it but they're not on...unsure if mine is defective (wouldn't be surprised) The mobile app doesn't show an LED option but the anycubic slicer workbench section does, but it's not selectable. Also if you try to view the camera from the app and anycubic slicer, one will timeout, not a huge issue, but I thought it was interesting. Also haven't experienced any of their ai sensing abilities for the camera, so I can't speak to that. I have only tested it via Wi-Fi so not sure how the image would do over cellular.

Aesthetics man it's for the 80% of people that are going to use the cloud and that way there's not dust in other objects that go in there. Regardless it's nice to see that someone is being somewhat critical but putting something together is actually better so you understand a little bit more about the machine. Instead of always having to contact support.. You're layer shifting has to do with your z-axis belt being way too loose. I mean it's a turn of it now it's not rocket science. Aurora tech put it together no problem had no issues so I don't understand because you did not like that you're to put together that you're going to pick at a company that literally is the reason why Bambu is cheaper now.. home the z axis. Along with a level calibration but usually it is not many people know to just home the z-axis. It seems like you just want your viewers to applaud you for putting it together properly. Also orca slicer exactly is bambu like all you have to do is transfer your bambu profile. And that is not true because you can use and fill flush within orca to eliminate waste. You also paid 415$ no shipping

Yes the belts needed tightening, Which I did before printing and all that. I have no problem with putting together a 3d printer, I have about a dozen of them, most of which had to be put together. The whole point was saying that this machine(in my experience) is not as beginner friendly as many others on the market right now. There are more and more people buying 3d printers for their kids, or who may just be wanting to get into it to experience something new. From my experience, this has not been a beginner friendly printer, as I am still having issues with it. That being said, I love the company. Anycubic has been in direct contact with me to resolve the issues that I have been experiencing, as well as fixing issues they have been able to replicate on their end. I'm hoping that I will shortly be able to put out a video about this working correctly, but so far, I stick by my statement, that this is a machine for an experienced printer, who doesn't mind tinkering with this machine.

Hey dudes, even Ender 3 (the first model) on stock belts and motors is not much slower than Bambu X1C printer, which is the most advanced to this day, just upgrade firmware and install DD. So speed and all that head shaking is just pure marketing.
You should choose what is more comfortable for you, not what have better marketing = )
For me $100 Ender 3 is better than X1C. Well, Prusa XL5 would be better, but price is incomparable. But I do not mind to print some parts on printer and install them. With correct setting Ender 3 is very reliable and cheap, and can be quite fast too. But I talk only about first model, others are BS in my opinion. But people buy them and use, and have different opinions. Someone thinks you need BS-touch and second Z spindle. I am not spending my money on those useless tools. It works alright without those.
      So it depends.
There are FlashForge clones of Bambu P and X models now, people say they are quite good. I would not buy those too though. Ender 3 works find for me. It does not need any maintenance as it have only POM wheels and Z spindle, which also can be upgraded to POM nut. Not greasing at all. I am a lazy man. And Bambu clones have rails and shafts and complicated boards which are not cheap and so on and so forth. So it really depends.

It depends what speeds do you compare. Most printers are marketed as 500mm/s or 600mm/s or 1000mm/s. But they do not tell you real flow limit and that those speeds are only on certain plastic type and brand.
So every printer speed is a lie. Even Bambu. Its base templates for example use only 10000 accelerations. While every video you see they repeat and repeat 20000 accelerations! While printer template have 20000, in printing template (normal, draft etc) default is 10000. And those actually does not change a lot, just set 5000 and it will print a bit slower, and may be not so spectacular. Even Bambu on high speed PLA will have maximum speed of 450 (from their official template) but only on 0.08 layer height. It will not print on 0.2 layer faster then 300.
So it depends on template and settings and what do you 'define' with 'faster'.

So you should not accuse someone before you make some research yourself.
