    Thank you for the video. I watched this about a yar ago and did not make sense. Since then I have built a few RC's and tuned a few. I came back for a better understanding in how to tune a drift car and this make more sense now. I hoping some day in 2024 I can make it out there and hit the Track. Keep up the great work!!! From SoCal, US! Peace!

    This helped me so much. I've just been rolling around with a tune that my local hobby store dude told me to do. It works good for small slow tracks, but I was looking for more controllable power out of my d10.

    Afro dude! thank you sooo much!!! Aside from your fluke Rx connection issue, this video is extremely helpful, at least for me as a 1st timer tuning my Toro 160 and Yokomo R1 10.5. Watching the tuning selections you made just 1 time is priceless and all I needed to get my base map. Sorry I missed the Live since I thought you were doing them on a weekend but glad I got to see it a few hours late. Awesome vid again bro 👏👏👏👏

    This is a great video. I think the rawness (live) really shows the reality of it. I think a lot of people get sucked into the " perfect world " of TH-cam videos. You had issues, resolved them and it was all in real time not cut and edited out of the video... I believe in turn there are people who will learn something from that alone as well! Cheers from Florida! ✌️

    Thx for the video, i tried to tweak and later i found the safe spot for my setting ( motor ares v1 10,5t, esc toro 160A ), which is boost at 20 ( starts at 10k, ends at 34k), turbo at 30 ( starts at 35k ).

    People at local track say that it's better to max out the motor timing(push until it starts rotating in reverse, back off) and then to tune the ESC for smoother throttle

    People don’t understand how many hours we hobbyists put into our craft. 😂
    I can take an entire half day just taking apart and revamping my 1/12 scale! Lots of tedious work and balancing but in the end is still more than worth it every time. Especially when you crash and tumble but your piece lands on its feet and keeps sliding..

    Adding that much timing on the esc is not going to cause any motor issues. You added 60 degrees additionally to the can timing right? I’m new to this hobby. What I want to know is, if even when can/motor timing max out at 50 can you exceed that timing lets say 55 degrees when adding time to boost and turbo?

  • @JAM-vu3ol
    @JAM-vu3ol ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just curious, isn’t supposed the motor,boost and turbo timing not more than 60? I’m new in this esc tuning, and also correct me if I’m wrong, when you said starting rpm3500, but on screen was35k .
    Thank you for your help 🙏

    Haha I didn’t realise I was so behind when watching yesterday and had some questions. For a top of the line build what ESC would you recommend I get to pair with the DX1 motor? Oh and also you ain’t stupid, don’t beat yourself up, I did that with a dip switch at work for over an hour the other day haha

    hello I have a question.. I have a issue with my esc (yokomo blpro4) and my motor (yokomo dx1 10.5t) I'm getting turbo in reverse but not forward. I've messed with esc settings and on my futaba 4pv. nothing I mess with fixes the issue. any ideas?

    Best motor for newb drifters? Yokomo dx1, hobbywing d10, or hobbywing Justock?

    • @Afrorc
      @Afrorc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just stock would be absolutely the easiest way to go and I don’t think you would need to change it as your progress you can obviously just change the tune but yeah just stock

    Hello I'm from Brazil. Do you recommend this Skyrc ts160 for slingshot 3.5t motor?

    • @Afrorc
      @Afrorc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I would definitely not run a 3.5 turn on that ES you would have to have something that is way more hard-core to run the amount of amperage that the 3.5 will suck through the ESC would probably burn up the ESC you can try it but I don’t suggested it

    I would the TS120 works the same as the TS160 in this video. Don't really think I need the 160 ESC for mild running, non competetive drifting.

  • @frozenshade666
    @frozenshade666 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you are setting 19 degree on motor, 60 turbo + 60 boost ?
    That 139 degree, isn't that to mutch ? 2S race seem to use about 50-60, I know the load is pretty load on motor, but still.
    I'm trying to understand.

    • @Afrorc
      @Afrorc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      this is not racing its two different worlds within racing you have grip where in drifting we are trying the rear wheel speed faster than the front
      for me to explain this to you would probably take a thirty minute video never compare drifting to racing

  • @extec101
    @extec101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    as im from other parts of rc racing i dont understand rc drifting why the engine tune need to be set that wild the engine is on the verge of burning eaven with fan to cool it down and that after almost half a lap on a normal rc race track.

    • @steve8755
      @steve8755 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In drifting, getting fast to high rpm its a must.. need to spin the wheels for doing the drifting.. that why we need to set it wild.. and in drifing its not about top speed, its about fast response to high rpm..

    • @extec101
      @extec101 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@steve8755 thank you for telling me why its set that wild.
