Please tell Papa Bear not to stand anywhere near a cable winch when pulling a vehicle! Very dangerous! If the cable breaks it could snapback and cut Papa Bear into 2 pieces!!! Not a good idea!
Thank you Pal I am aware of that some times I just have to guide the cable in the roller. Sometimes it all goes to one side of the roller and tangles up. I will be careful thank you again. Papa 🐻 and Anthony
Love these time capsule finds. Speaking for myself, I just can't get enough of these. Interested to see what you do with this. The undercarriage is so clean, and there were no fluid stains on the garage floor. I drove public transit buses with no power steering, so no whining. Hi Papa Bear 🐻
Thankyou for another great video guys that cadillac looks in great shape - A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING to Anthony and Papa bear and their famiies - I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is gorgeous! This is an awesome find! Looking forward to the fixing it up videos! Makes me miss my '82 Coupe Deville, but I'm thankful to have my '90 Brougham d' Elegance 5.7V8! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
So good to see Papa Bear on a video! I really enjoy these rescue, road trip videos. I would also love to see your steps at getting this car fixed and back on the road! Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving, Anthony, Papa Bear, and all your loved ones! Another entertaining video and another beautiful car! It still fascinates me to see and remember vehicles that large, come as coupes! Btw, Papa Bear lecturing you about laying down on the job, absolutely made my day! I’m still smiling! You guys are the best!
Super nice car, I'm glad you bought it. It would be a great video if you showed all the steps (including all the cosmetic ones) of you getting the car back on the road (and up to your high standards) and getting it ready for sale.
Very nice! My grandmother had a 1980 same color, but with darker cloth seats, little evenly spaced polka dots all over the velour inserts. Great to be taken to school in this, in the early 80's! I sure hope to see more videos of this Caddy, and look forward to hearing that fasten seatbelts chime! A few memories, all early 80's, age 3-8 while she had the car: I learned how hot the tailpipe gets after a long trip! I once slammed my fingers in the passenger door, and that huge door is not forgiving! One day, while playing in the car, I turned the lights on between the visors, forgot to turn them off, and killed the battery. I recall my grandmother being very upset someone keyed all the way down the driver's side. They had to respray that side. Later sold to an Aunt, so I still saw it until around 1988. Seems like my grandmother got a 1985 front wheel drive Fleetwood at that point. She passed shortly after that, so I only saw it one time.
Fleetwoods had chrome rockers. DeVilles didn't have the chrome rockers so they got this platisol coating instead. This is a nicely equipped DeVille and of course, has the good engine.
The new 368 cid V8 gasoline engine was introduced for the 1980 model year across the Cadillac model lineup, except for California, which made use of the Oldsmobile 350 cid gas engine for the Eldorados and the Sevilles. The Oldsmobile 350 diesel was also available throughout the lineup.
The 368 was the last of the 500 and 425 big block family. Cadillac failed miserably in 1981 to make the 368 more fuel efficient with cylinder deactivation. It was all downhill after that until they smartened up in 1990 and finally offered the Chevy 350….The engine they should’ve just threw fuel injection on and starting using after 1981 anyway.
FYI: The radio was replaced with a later model unit. Symphony Sound cassette (w/DNR switch) appeared in 1983. Not to be confused with Symphonic Sound System of 1981 (no DNR switch).
I love this. I had a 80 coupe back in the day . I had the wreath emblem and the turning lights with the crests on them and the wreath around the trunk. My personal taste
While rear defoggers were commonplace on Cadillacs at the time, in those days, options were individual and not packages like today, and having no rear defogger on an otherwise deluxe car was a good indicator it was delivered new to a southern state.
Had an 80 sedan DeVille years ago almost no options, bald top, velour bench seat, no telescoping wheel, no rear defrost. I swear the rear window without the defrost was so thin it felt like it would shatter if you tapped on it. Car was sold new in WA State kind of odd with the no defrost. Another strange thing it was the very pale green outside and tan inside have never seen an exact replica of that one
Happy thanksgiving Guys. !!! Such a Great Find. She is Beautiful and you guys will make her LIVE again. !!! Loved the video. Love all the stuff you guys do together as Father and Son. Video was funny too, we Love you Papa Bear. Thanks Guys.... !!!
If those extra keys don't work on the Cadillac you should return them to the seller. He had a few GMs sitting in that garage. Easy for you to dispose or not care. Huge deal for seller trying to find a way to sell dispose of the other pieces of metal.
Oldsmobile Omega. You’re right. I used to guess all these cars by looking at a headlight or something unnoticeable. Now, every car looks the same. I just call them blow molds. (No offense to others who love the style of newer vehicles.
I'm interested in this car. I'm looking for a nice summer driver the isn't too expensive. Please keep me posted on progress and end cost if your going to sell it.
Happy Thanksgiving to both of you. Ido not care for those cars of the 80s. The last real Cadillac was 1976, triple black Fleetwood. I would like a 1955 series 60 special Fleetwood, with factory air condition off the ceiling. If I can find one I would trade my 1949 Cadillac for it. your friend Bob. say hi to Papa bear.
A Coupe, an Omega, a K5 and an S10.... clearly a gentleman of taste and substance. I want everything in this garage.
I LOVE the garage that caddy was sitting in!
Please tell Papa Bear not to stand anywhere near a cable winch when pulling a vehicle! Very dangerous! If the cable breaks it could snapback and cut Papa Bear into 2 pieces!!! Not a good idea!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
In this case, 2 are DEFINITELY NOT better than 1! 😂😂😂
Always love to see you guys doing something together. There is just something about a Coupe DeVille that makes my heart beat faster. Love it.
Can’t wait to see this come back to life 👍
December 12 will be the one year anniversary of my buying a 1979 Coupe deVille with 54,000 miles and with one owner since August 1979.
Wow that is beautiful! I know you'll give it the TLC it needs! Really a clean car to start with!
Love these time capsule finds. Speaking for myself, I just can't get enough of these. Interested to see what you do with this. The undercarriage is so clean, and there were no fluid stains on the garage floor.

Those coupes! ❤
This is a really beautiful Caddy from a time that they were and are under-appreciated.
The frame & undercarriage looked very good for its age.
Great to see Papa Bear!!! Happy thanksgiving to you and your family!! I love these adventures!!!
Hello Michael we hope you and your family had a Happy Thanksgiving. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Happy Thanksgiving beautiful car. My grandpa and grandma had a blue 1977 couple Deville.

That's really nice for the year . Hello PA PA Bear 🐻 .
You got that right Bill she sure is. Papa 🐻
My momma had one of these. It had buckles on the trunk. Loved sitting in the backseat of that thing 😊
Beautiful 80 Coupe. I miss my 80 Coupe but I still see it every day, it's parked in the back yard. Lol. I'm content with my 78 Coupe
I think that coop will clean up nice anthony

I always love the Cadillac Coupe DeVille. I've had many of them they're a beautiful vehicle. That's a nice clean one there. It's a good find.
That rough texture at the bottom of the doors and rocker panels is stone guard which eas popular in the 80s and 90s.
Fleetwoods had chrome rockers. DeVilles didn't have the chrome rockers so they got this platisol coating instead. This is a nicely equipped DeVille and of course, has the good engine.
Also has an incorrect Fleetwood hood ornament.
If I win the lottery I will buy this, Love it.
Wow! That Caddy is in great shape! One of these days I'll get one and ill get it from you guys. I'm in a 59 Edsel now! Haha great video!
Those wide whitewalls MADE Cadillacs in that era.
You guys did an awesome job on this -definitely worth a follow up getting this thing started and cleaned up🙂 Happy Thanksgiving fellas!

Not sure if I am overthinking, but if the winch unhooked the car could go rolling backwards into the garage. Safer to be in driver seat.
That thing is sweet
I'm interested. I had a 1980 when I was a young man. Looks like that car is in better shape that I am
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃🍽️ FROM BROOKLINE MA🦃🦃

Oldsmobile Omega. You’re right. I used to guess all these cars by looking at a headlight or something unnoticeable. Now, every car looks the same. I just call them blow molds. (No offense to others who love the style of newer vehicles.
