My granddaughter asked me to make this bracelet and I had no idea how. I looked for videos and finally found yours. You’ve been so helpful. Thanks so much ! 💕
OMG How wonderful! THANK YOU!!! I've never used the waxed cord before and definitely easier than non waxed cord that you have to use superglue to secure the square (slide) knot! I will definitely be watching your beading videos as I've a horde of beads that I've been attempting to use in projects over the years. You are a great teacher and I truly appreciate your time and talents.
Hi can ı ask a question? How do you make the knot stay in place. Mine just sliding while ı take of the bracelet from my wrist. And all multi strand fall down. Am ı pull hard or am i doing wrong the knot? I'm talking about the knot which you made 3:55 I hope you can help me.
I like your video. Thank you. For the sliding knot section, when the knot is getting too loose and not staying fitted, can you salvage it still by maybe using glue or do you have to remake the bracelet? I wanted to continue to keep the bracelet without have to remake it.
Question. On the slip knot… when you do the two simple burns to close it… I find my ends slide in overtime. Which means it doesn’t stay tight. I’ve been adding knots on each then burning but it looks silly. Do you have another solution? I find just two simple burns don’t keep the knot tight
Hi! I often add a drop of super glue to my knots as well to keep them from sliding out. I find the melting just isn't enough to keep them from coming apart. I use a toothpick dipped in the glue so it doesn't look messy.
Thanks glad you liked it! If you want to make your own in those colors you can buy the cord pack we used here: beadaholique.com/products/knot-it-waxed-brazilian-cord-2-ply-polyester-four-15-yard-bundles-youthful-experessions
I think it's fine to leave it. It seals the end but I don't think it will hurt the structure of the design if you do not use the lighter. The ends might unravel a bit
It has a slight stickiness to it, I'd call it more grippy than sticky. It won't leave a residue unless it gets very hot. Waxed cotton cord is a classic knot-making material. Knots hold better in it because of that grip, and its stiffness helps make knots easier to tie and gives them a good structure, which is why we like it for this project.
OOoh no, I hope you're ok! If you want to avoid fire an electrically heated thread zap can also work, they're just as hot but it's confined to a small metal tip so it's easier to avoid: beadaholique.com/products/beadsmith-cordless-thread-zap-ii-thread-burner-tool
Yes, I'd recommend a super glue style adhesive, something that's easy to apply in small drops. For things like this we tend to use Super New Glue: beadaholique.com/products/eurotool-super-new-glue-heavy-duty-adhesive-3-gram-bottle
Not necessarily, but the wax can help. You can also apply wax manually to threads that are not waxed. Here is a link to our beeswax: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=beeswax
Sure, this design is so versatile and to my eye it's not all that strongly gendered to begin with. Take a look at all the colors we've got and I'm sure you'll be able to craft some bracelets that are really appealing to men beadaholique.com/collections/new-stringing-materials?_=pf&pf_v_brand=Knot-It
We haven't tested this with embroidery thread, and it depends on the material. Sliding knots work best with cord that's smooth and bit stiff. Some common embroidery threads like perle cotton may not be smooth enough. A a synthetic thread like rayon might work.
We've got waxed cotton cord too if you like beadaholique.com/search?type=article%2Cpage%2Cproduct&q=%22waxed%20cotton%22&_=pf&pf_t_product_type=0-Product-Type%3ABeading%20Cord%20%26%20Ribbon
Firstly, great tutorial. Secondly, I've seen bigger brands sell these for $45 a piece. Meanwhile small macrame artists like me make intricate pieces that take 8+ hours to make sometimes, and when I charge $200, I get laughed at. Those same customers go back and buy really simple things like this and are essentially getting ripped off. Can anyone explain the appeal of these bracelets other than they are stackable and go with many outfits? Genuinely asking because it makes me sad that this stuff sells and none of my simple (or complex) pieces do.

You are so welcome!
You are an excellent teacher. This is one of the clearest teachings and how to make this bracelet that I have observed thank you!
Thank you so much for this clear easy to follow tutorial for this cute bracelet ! Definitely going to make some of these.

Awesome! I’ve been wanting to learn how to make these bracelets. This is a great video. What a money saver.
Great tutorial! Thanks so much for making it. Much easier than I anticipated
Thanks so much for this! Super clear explanation.
This is a really good tutorial
The bigger one may work as an anklet. Very cute and easy to make!😊
Totally, these would make great anklets
Great tutorial! Thanks so much.

I made this with the Day & Night mix

You can definitely try a little glue over the knot itself, not the cords that slide through it. Always worth a shot vs. remaking!
Easy and pretty thank you
so awesome! just subbed!
Perfect. Items ordered. Thank you, job well done.
Wonderful, thanks for your order JoAnn!
What length is the single pink string at the bottom? At 1:15

Wow that is really beautiful
Thank you ❤️ These sorts of string bracelets are so popular in summer but we don't see why you can't wear one into autumn too. Glad you it!

Hey! I see what you mean, i think it helps to make sure when you’re doing the slip knot that you’re tying them pretty tight but not really tight 😊

I think it's fine to leave it. It seals the end but I don't think it will hurt the structure of the design if you do not use the lighter. The ends might unravel a bit
How long are the strings😊
Why does my square knot come undone once the wax wears off? (Within 2 days of wearing it) 😢
Oh no! That should not be happening. Did you use the same cord we used?
Can we make this with yarn
Can I make this also w hemp cord
Please note that it may be a little harder to work with than the waxed cord, but it can certainly be done. We recommend trying it out!
Awesome tutorial! Is the wax cord like sticky? Does it leave residue on your hand?
It has a slight stickiness to it, I'd call it more grippy than sticky. It won't leave a residue unless it gets very hot. Waxed cotton cord is a classic knot-making material. Knots hold better in it because of that grip, and its stiffness helps make knots easier to tie and gives them a good structure, which is why we like it for this project.
I followed along and burnt off part of my nail lol
Thanks so much my bracelet is beautiful

Thanks so much Yvonne!
What's the diameter of these wax cords ?
They are .7mm thick. Here is a link: beadaholique.com/products/knot-it-waxed-brazilian-cord-2-ply-polyester-four-15-yard-bundles-youthful-experessions
Hi, I’m trying to find the video on square knots to finish the bracelet. Would someone be able to link it here if they know where it is? Thank you.
Here are some of our other videos on square knots: th-cam.com/users/beadaholiquesearch?query=square%20knot
@@beadaholique hi, still trying to understand which video teaches about square knots…..would you be able to link to that specific video for me please?
CUTE MRS. KAT I JUST CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I MAKE THIS PS. I MISS THE LIVE TUTORIALS 😭
Thanks Andrea! We miss going live and chatting with people during the classes a lot too, eager to start them up again once quarantine is over.
Thank you for this video🙏🏼🌷
Is it possible i use Glue instead flame?

Thsnk you very much,i will get it.🙏🏼🌷🌷
I have G-S hypo cement too ,it is not enough strong in this case?
@@minayahya5856 I think G-S Hypo Cement would work well for this, it's more than strong enough.
Beadaholique thank you 🙏🏼🌷
@@minayahya5856 Always glad to help!

With different colors of waxed cord, could be made unisex?? Looking for simple men’s bracelets with sliding knot closure! This is great video!!!

Yes it's unisex. It's a cord bracelet. 😂😭✌🏼
Can you use 2 colors?
You certainly can!
Can we use embroidery thread

It won’t melt like this waxed cord.
When I twist the cords together they don’t stay! They untwist when I let go…what am I doing wrong?
It's possible the cord may not have enough wax. We have beeswax conditioners available here: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=beeswax
awesome
Thanks!
It's called waxed polyester cord y'all.
