  • beadaholique.com/collections/b... - In this video you will learn how to make a four strand braid using waxed cord. This video shows two knots at the end that you can tie together for a permanent bracelet, however if you want a bracelet you can slide off we recommend adding a sliding square knot instead.

    Thank you! I really love the organic style jewelry like this. My inner hippie loves this.

      We love this style too. We've got so many beads around sometimes it's hard to get back to minimalism, but some of my favorite braiding projects, and especially my favorite kumihimo projects we've done have been unadorned knotting like this.

    Thank you for your super easy to follow instructions, I sooo appreciate that. When I first heard about a 4 strand braid I thought “yeah not by me” I imagined a super intricate weave that was way out of reach for me, but your instructions were so easy to follow and it’s not a hard weave at all. Thank you very much 😊

    Hi ive been making bracelets recently to keep busy and your videos are very helpful although i do have a question. How do u tighten the strings? I made this earlier and i tried to tighten it by each string when making and it came out braided but just much looser than the one you’ve made for an example :(

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That sounds like it could be a tension problem. With braiding and knotting projects it's important to hold your strings in tension while you work with them. What I mean is that you want to pulling them slightly the whole time you work, keeping those cords taut. If your braid is too loose or uneven once you're finished that could means you weren't keeping things taut, or you weren't doing it consistently throughout. This is really common when you're first starting out because you're focused on learning the technique and memorizing the steps instead of holding your hand steady. So the bad news here is that the best way to fix it is to undo the braid and start over. But the good news is that this is something everybody goes through while they're learning.

    How can you end the braid if you do not use a waxed braid?

  • @rocknloom2474

    You can use a kumihimo disk/plate for this braid.

    Do you have to use the board thingy

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the board's helpful if you're making a lot of them and doing other more complicated braiding and knoting projects, but for this braid you can simply stick the end to a table with a piece of tape if you like.

    • @beadaholique

      Sorry it's giving you trouble. What sort of cord are you using? People make them with all sorts of cord and string but I find it's much easier to work with something a little stiff like waxed cotton. It helps the knot keep its shape as you tie it and helps it stay.

      @@beadaholique and on top of that if you don't have one of those fancy boards use a piece of cardboard and cut little lines on the side of the cardboard with scissors.. will definitely help the style and the strength of knots

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lithium-Moto Yep, that's a good tip. I think that's how most of us got started making these sorts of bracelets. The board is nice to have when you're making a lot of them for sale, but for occasional work a piece of cardboard is all you need.
