- Borderlands 4 Release Date Revealed... The much-awaited sequel to the first looter-shooter game, Borderlands 4, may release sooner than fans initially believed, according to new details about the game. Gearbox Software and 2K Sports' run-and-gun action series gained a lot of popularity because of its absurd humor, responsive controls, and vast array of unlockable weaponry. Recently, a surprising discovery may indicate that Borderlands 4 will release shortly.

I'd love BL4 to be developed into "game as a service" model like Destiny. Also gearbox should encourage multiplayer more.
Not promote it for some months, then abandon it for Tiny Tina's Wonderland 2. Make it endless and online competitive,, endless difficulty demanding, make farming worth for more than just mere better stats, give more strategical use for different variety of weapons than just grabbing the plasma coil and killing most of everything.
In the 3, they had potentential with their multiplayer raids. It had to be a great way to bring people to launch games online, but then, poof! they abandonned the game.
Also, the Arm's race was a great concept, but they could have also withdraw more potential from that game mod, such providing more maps, or other unique equipement to get from a daily changing map.
If 3's characters are involved as quest-givers or part of the story, let's hope they're not killed off or used to host game shows...

I'd love to see Wainwright return as a gunsmith we can take multiple copies of weapons to to either swap parts or re-roll parts to try and get god rolls. That way you still have to grind, but not for nearly as long. They could even use it as a way to make custom skins or unique weapons.
Grinding bosses / named enemies seems a lot more entertaining than grinding a crafting mechanic.

Although I do love a long and tedious grind this idea is quite good. I like it because it will give us the opportunity to make personalized weapons to an extent that more than a keychain and a new paint job.

All I want, all i have ever asked for, is a game that is Borderlands 3 gameplay and mechanics, with Borderlands 2 writing. That's it. Imagine Borderlands 2 with 3's gameplay gunplay, sliding, movement and updated graphics. Good god that game would be fucking epic. That's what I want for 4.
SAME!!! Like I enjoy the bl3 gameplay, but the story is just. So lacking for me. Where I will play the game, but only if it’s co-op. Because I wanna experience the game with a favorite person of mine for the experience of the game and not for the story. It just sucks because I was so hyped for bl3 after loving 2 and pre-sequel, only to never even finish the game because I just wasn’t invested in the story at all

The base game wasn’t great from a story perspective, but the DLC was great. Borderlands 2 is an anomaly of a game that isn’t came together so well. People really need to stop comparing a game with probably the best antagonist of all time in it to every other game ever made. Nothing will compare. Enjoy what we get, and if it’s a fun game then I’m in.

@@jeremycirino7227Honestly i don't think the story in BL 2 was particularly good, it wasn't much different from 3 or 1 even. It was handsome Jack alone who elevated the game with his charisma.
Here's what I want for BL4.
Sniper rifles being good on launch would be wonderful as well as a character that benefits them nicely.
And better writing than 3 since that sucked.
An unchanging level cap would also be nice.
End game content that doesn't feel devoid of creativity.
Less invincibility phases.
The return of Pearlescents and for those pearls to be dramatically improved. The highest rarity SHOULD be the most powerful.
Get rid of anointments.
More dedicated drop locations on launch.
DLC Vault Hunters.
E-Tech weapons/Eridian weapons.

Leave anointments but make it that it just adds to the game play not as it's a MUST plus no character specific anointments. also ability to find paints for weapons so you can customize the gun to what ever color scheme you want. Granted they'll have the original color scheme of said weapon and if you find it you can go to a new vending machine that if you dismantle it you can get the skin/paints for it to further customize them ex( if you wanted a different scope or add a magazine clip which is higher the drawback to it when you customize it it has a chance to change the element or and either you choose to keep it or rerole it for a higher price. Might be good if done right

Combine the incredible writing that 2 had with the amazing gunplay 3 had. Create a compelling villain that isn't incredibly annoying. Actually write a decent villain with emotional pull like Handsome Jack had
As much as I'd love to kill the child siren, she would make a terrible villain. She's also a terrible hero. She's just terrible. Whoever writes her needs to box out the annoying adhd inner child they have ruining whatever talent got them hired.

I want something new and Refreshing. Like I really loved tiny Tina's wonderlands gameplay with the seller wepons and skills even the loot but the story, dlc and RPG element where lacking big time.

They shouldn’t rush it. Give us the writing of Borderlands 2 and the graphics of Borderlands 3 and we’ll have a great game. Maybe even sprinkle in a toned down version of the endgame from Wonderlands and add free raids like Borderlands 3. You’ll have a solid solid game.

honestly i just want like a full-fledged melee character again, like Krieg or Brick. someone that puts their guns away to just bonk and bash people, or atleast has the option to. if bl4 has one of those it'll probably be my most played borderlands game in the series
They should bring the Wonderlands System of melee and actually make it to where bosses can be beaten with melee only so challenges like that can be done

I like the character creation in bauldurs gate you could have a similar thing the 4 main vault hunters to customise or create your own character options choosing a vaulthuter skill to go with it.
Two different games. Please don't turn borderlands into baldurs gate.
I think it would be pretty cool to have melee weapons as a dedicated weapon of choice
I would love them to add all the characters they’ve made as playable characters and you can choose from each different vault hunter with a vast of different skills and play throughs to go through and online would be so crazy with different playable characters
They should also allow you to play as all 4 characters at the same time so you can build each character up at the same time and have op combos and builds for offline single players

I would like it to be possible to choose old chamber hunters along with the ones that are now, that it be a good story mainly and that the legendary weapons were more difficult to get like in 2.
When it comes to narative and character writing, that ship sank when anthony birch (narative lead up until pre sequal) left and he aint comming back, what whit Andy pitchfork literally attempting to bite his nose off, when he brought up his unpaid bonus.
I really hope the villains end up being a group of four vault hunters. Which adds more to the title of Borderlands 4 and is the number of vault hunters presented in every game (without dlcs)
I just hope for non cringe humor with actual mature writing. Be serious when the mood is serious. Be lighthearted when the mood is fun. But never write stupid smarky dialogue attempting to so hard to make a character sound 'hip', comes off as gen z writing cringe.

From the end of BL2 the map showed us many vaults, and we have only gone over four out of who knows how many so I might guess that the next story will have us collect the other vault keys and collect them on our way to truly knowing why there are so many

Honestly I would be fine with that. I liked the pre sequel despite boss fights and humor being off target at times. I liked the vault hunters, and while the setting isn’t my favorite(especially in the vacuum of space trying to hit with a fire weapon) the game was better than people gave it credit for.

One thing that I’m not sure if it would be a good idea or not, is a weapon creation, or modification station where you could create a weapon based on weapon manufacturer like a bandit stock, maliwan grip, torgue barrel, and have a weapon that gets created for your level that you could personalize, or modify ground loot weapons to have cosmetic differences like reticle changes and weapon color, or effects like halo’s grunt birthday party effect on kills etc. I wouldn’t want something that could change ground loot’s rarity of getting a perfect roll so I think that should be out of the question for changing parts for the gun or it’s element
I hope that they will bring back all characters from all. So you can play with different ways to play the style that best fits how you want to. Except the pre sequel wouldn’t make sense. My opinion
If you played the game that it was meant to be played you should be burned out on the old characters. The game is designed is designed to reward you for customizing the difficulty of gameplay so that you are constantly challenged no matter your skill and experience as a gamer, which consequently should take many hours to complete the game along with all of its various side missions and therefor thoroughly explore and master all of the character's abilities. If you want to keep doing the same thing then just keep replaying the same game. The 2 greatest elements of this game are, first, the fact that it is so rediculous that it makes it nearly impossible to predict what will happen next, and second, that way more development goes into the exploration aspect of the game rathet than the straight forward quest line. If youre looking for a game you can speed run this game would just annoy you. Fans love this game because they want to be surprised and I would be very disappointed to find that they wasted development resources on old characters and old skill trees. We want to continue the same old story line but with an entirely new gameplay experience. It might be cool if the game let you choose which of the old characters will join you as a companion but as far as the playable characters go Im looking forward to being surprised.
I don’t see how this would work very well. Lilith is fine, Roland is dead, maya is dead, lady ice from pre sequel is dead. I would also rather see them create new vault hunters than rehash what came before. I will admit, though, I am of the opinion that the vault hunters in pre sequel were some of the best. At least they were different and varied and it wasn’t another sniper, another turret guy, a siren, etc.

I've been asking for tina as a playable "demolition class" character since endgame bl2. The one thing I've posted on the old forums that has yet to come true. Back in 2014 when the pre sequel dropped I made an entire post about how the 3rd game should take us off planet and to others in the system. Promethea, eden 6, (the water planet aquator?? I forget the name) etc..(before they even started work on it) fast forward to bl3 and I got my wish. Lol. I'm happy gearbox actually listens once in awhile. We all know they scanned the forums regularly back then. Can't wait for 4. Og borderlands is still my favorite though. And I miss the old inventory menus where the backpack was just colored text and the gun pics were on the weapon cards. Happy when the updated version of bl1 came out, then I was crushed to see them add bl2 style menus.
Borderlands 1 was sick. I still play it today, more than 2 even.
Imagine travelling planet to planet, with a playtime of a single borderland game+dlc per planet BORDERLANDS INFINITY!
i jsut hope they dont do patch to increase max level anymore, just increase max skill point we can get. so sick and tired have to re farm the same build again when max level increase. Or they could have some kind fo crafting that let us increase our gear level, like soulmatch in nioh.

@@GORILLA_PIMPmy comment was about they shouldnt increase the max level but instead just increase the max skill point. meaning you still have to gain exp to get more skill point, but just the max level wont increase anymore. that way u dont need to re farm the gear with perfect perks anymore. that max level number dont mean shit anyway, since enemy level also scale with ur level.

They should make the siren a utilily class/technomancer. Manipulate and specialize your gear with psychic powers. Or a tech summon/transformation kind of like Kidd on One Piece.
i came up with a concept idea when i was younger for a vault hunter: were-skag. sounds a little dumb but it might fit as a Hyperion experiment
One idea would be to have krieg as a major side character in the game
He is a fan favorite and it would be really cool to expand on his life after losing maya
Maybe as an antagonist who went crazy after Maya’s death and at the end of the game he comes to his senses and sacrifices himself just so he can do something good for the last time for the sake of maya
Or maybe he can aide the vault hunter throughout the game just so he could reunite with maya in the afterlife after his death
I really hope next borderlands they add really great vault hunters I think that’s what really makes the game great
Every game has had great vault hunters and they have so much character design experience already so I doubt they'll screw that up

What is your opinion of Gearbox releasing a Borderlands game where they allow us to select vault hunters from previous games to play through a new story? This would give them an opportunity to redesign previous skill trees and add more customization to them. I really love that idea. It’s very ambitious but as long as the story is solid I think that would be a home run for 2k and Gearbox!

I still say Jack could come back. From what I see in the presequel, it's like he got to see everything that was going to unfold in the future, thus making him prepared for borderlands 2 fake his death while working behind the scenes
I read something a couple years ago that said he had his consciousness installed in an AI or something, so it’s possible. If he comes back I hope it just isn’t shoehorned in and there is a reason and motive. I don’t want Jack just because they have no other ideas.
He shouldn't come back at all. Everything about his story was handled perfectly fine bringing him back would just ruin it. Let characters stay dead if they die, not everything needs to be marvel or dragonball.

Gearbox should bring back a lot of characters from the older games like Salvatore and Axton. If Borderlands 4 is gonna be a culmination of the games. They could possibly end it by bringing peace to Pandora

Vault Monsters - Borderlands 3 had some interesting Vault monsters that felt very weak. SENTINEL is my favourite vault monster fight. Worst would be Typhons Vault (as its already dead) and Xylorgos Vault (as its also dead, why its dead? Frostbite. Anyways a vehicle fight like Carnivora would have been awesome, then you get swallowed up. Basically a reversal on the Leviathan fight from Borderlands 2 dlc)
They should have the Perlescent weapons in the game as well.

I would like too see farming be more efficient without having too wait a long time in the loading screen.
Gearbox is in a tough position. They are $-strapped and need BL4 to hit big. The way this happens is by turning back the clock to BL1/BL2 style. They took BL3 weapons too far with the need for the perfect anointment BS, less IS more. Yes bring back pearls and rebalance the drop % so legendary weapons/items are not like breath mints at a bad breath convention. Modding is HUGE for the BL franchise so lean into it and have an in game mechanic that allows for the player to do this, buy a different grip or sight etc.. Make BL fun again.
I really hope we get a 3rd person option finally! Even if most don’t use it, an option exists in SO MANY GAMES, why not this one?
Because it wouldn't work in a movement based shooter like that barely any game of this nature has a 3rd person option. I couldn't think of many who have it at all other than elder scrolls and fallout.

I hope they go with the "each planet has a different head honcho" strategy rather than trying to create another handsome jack. It'd be nice to have lots of different assholes to kill than chance a tedious or boring one throughout the whole game.

I wanna see more BL1-styled settings in the scrapyard/wasteland style. Good story writing and I wanna see the quality match or surpass, not be a step down. ALSO it would be interesting if they made it where you could go back and play as old vault hunters as well as the new ones. Just take all the best elements and ideas of the old games and compile them into a new story also with new characters and DLC to make the ultimate game. Oh yeah, bring back S&S guns too

Ava gets siren powers at the end of 3 it’s obvious she’s the next siren
Considering the fan base hated Ava simply because it was “her fault” Maya died, I don’t know about that. Her character was exactly as she should have been: a bratty teenager with no patience. Honestly the new claptrap voice and lines were far more annoying to me. He was more over the top and it didn’t fit claptrap at all to me. I would be fine with a grown Ava and Mayas powers, but I don’t know how many others would be.

I didn't played the English version of BL 3 and have to say Ava was way less annoying in my language, guess they changed some lines a bit in localization, claptrap also still had his old voice thankfully.

Yeah, this could work really well. Shadow warrior 2 had looter shooter elements and they managed to implement swords rather well.
Talking about the movie tie-in.... that is only a good idea, if the movie is good, if the movie sucks, than the tie in will just make people roll their eyes

Brick was my favourite and what got me into the game and Kriegs trailer made me get Borderlands 2.
There was no "melee" character that got me excited in Borderlands 3 but boight anyway and that was the worst story they could've thought up.
