After 2 years with my squeaky frame, I followed these instructions and it is now completely silent! 😌 I wish I had found this video sooner! Thanks so much for posting!
This worked for about 2 minutes and the bed went straight to squeaking again. If i knew how bad a metal bed could squeak i would never have purchased one! Anyway thanks for posting, i'll keep trying and see how i get on
I will also say mine held up for about 6 months every time I "lubricated" it, but I eventually got sick of doing the procedure, and sold it 2nd hand. Now we have a wood frame.
I realised the majority of the creaking was coming from where the slats meet the bed frame. I cut squares of craft felt and pushed them through and i could cry, the squeaking is almost down to 0. My slats were also metal and every time I moved around they were catching. Hope this helps someone out there
Do you have a picture or video of them (use Imgur to share). I ask because my bed came with rubber “mute buckles” that you insert just above the slats, so they aren’t hitting the metal at all.
@@Culperrr Hi, unfortunately I have since gotten rid of those beds. The felt didn't last long, it kept falling out and then other areas of the bed started squeaking too. Glad to hear you have something to prevent the earache at night. Also my bed was a really cheap one so that could've made it worse.
@@AyshG Huh. For some reason it cut off my other half of what I wrote down. Sorry about that. What I was saying was that the rubber doesn’t do anything, it seems. I hear the squeaking from the middle of the bed too, from the slats, so that leads me to believe that it’s the slat itself and not the metal on metal contact that is making the noise. I just didn’t know if you had the same issue or not.
@@Culperrr Ah OK, no problem. Yes I felt that the bed itself was just making alot of noise in the end. I wiggled it all over and everything was just squeaking and creaking. I oiled all the screws and between slats too but nothing helped. Many family members have metal beds and I've not heard them complain. Never again haha
I have never tried it with WD-40, but others have said that since it's water based, it wears off much more quickly . . . after only a few days. Of course, feel free to try!
For me, it’s the slats (12 that lay across the frame) that make all of the squeaking. At the ends of each slat, it even has a “mute buckle” so that they won’t hit the metal. The “T” or middle section of the bed has pre-installed rubber or foam so that when they lay across the frame, it doesn’t hit the metal. It seems to me that the slats are just bad quality. The sound doesn’t just come from the ends of them, but also the middle of them. It progressed from not hearing a thing and then 3 months later (after I bought it), just making so much noise. WD-40 doesn’t seem to do the trick either.
Just real quick question, is there any other spray’s bottle that can be used, just In case people don’t have any lubricant products? Love the vid btw 👌
I've never tried that. My speculation is that it would work at first, but wear out more quickly because it doesn't have teflon, so doesn't last as long.
It evaporates from what little I know so it might appear to work but it will just really remove dirt and not perform the same job as the spray used in this video. It might be a good step to add in to these instructions, WD40 the bolt and screw holes, then lightly pat the bolt off or wipe it off if it’s an old dusty bed, then do the Teflon spray onto the clean bolt.
THERE IS ONLY MYSELF IN MY QUEEN BED BUT MY PROBLEM IS THE HEAD OF THE BED WHICH LOOK IDENTICAL TO YOUR BED HEAD. I HAVE TO PROP MYSELF UP FOR SLEEPING BECAUSE OF REFLUX AND MY WEDGE PILLOW IS UP AGAINST THE METAL HEAD PART OF THE BED AND EACH TIME I MOVE EVEN SLIGHTLY ON THE WEDGE PILLOW TO CHANGE MY POSITION THE BED HEAD MAKES A NOISE AND THIS IS A BRAND NEW BED. I DONT FANCY TRYING TO GET THE VERY HEAVY QUEEN MATTRESS OFF MY BED AND REMOVING ALL THE SCREWS IN THE BED. SOMEONE FROM THE SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT THE BED CAME OUT AND PUT THE BED TOGETHER BUT I MIGHT TRY OILING THE SCREWS WITH A SPECIAL GREASER PERHAPS, THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD.
I can't speak to all bed frames, but on this particular one, that would do very little. A lot of the squeak comes from the headboard area, the legs, etc - parts that would not even touch the wood
Wow! 2,000 views! Thanks everyone for watching the squeaky bed frame video!

U R Welcome!
Thank you! Maybe my neighbors will get some rest now 🥴
Bed frames are the worst when they squeak!
I like this guy . He’s so wholesome and helpful!
Thank you so much. The squeaking has been driving me insane but I’m going to follow your instructions this weekend
results?

You have a terrific personality. Great video, well done. I hope you'll be doing more on different topics.
Thank you! As time permits, yes, certainly! Day-job/life/caring for elderly parents prevents me from publishing as much as I'd like to! :)

i legit have the same bed frame this is perfect! thankyou so much
Glad it could help!
Try nylon washers also. Works great!
thanks! def need to do that.
Living in an old building and the walls are paper thin. Bet My neighbors are also annoyed by my squeaking
same lol
This worked great thank you so much me and the hubby are truly grateful 😊
Really appreciate this knowledge. If anyone’s looking for a cheaper method, use WD40 & buy the folding hex wrench from Walmart. Spent about $11

maybe slide some wax/parchment paper where the slats make contact with the frame
Love your glasses! Thanks 4 the video!💞
I never knew my glasses were all that distinctive, but I sure appreciate it! :)

how is it now?
Just real quick question, is there any other spray’s bottle that can be used, just In case people don’t have any lubricant products? Love the vid btw 👌
Wonder if silicone grease would work longer
Let me try this before I buy a new one 🤣
Can wd40 be used instead of the lubricant?
I would not recommend it since it's water based, it can evaporate more quickly.
will.this work for wooden frames as well?
I doubt it
Yay for a desqueakified bed!
can i use Wd40?

ive tried it.. it is as you say, it works for few hours, but the creak stays.

Question!! Lubricant or a low Strength thread locker? I was initially thinking to use a thread locker
Part of it is there are "squeaky parts" that aren't threaded.
I read somewhere about putting wood slats? anyone do this- to make one more sturdy? and less squeaky?
I can't speak to all bed frames, but on this particular one, that would do very little. A lot of the squeak comes from the headboard area, the legs, etc - parts that would not even touch the wood

Why not use some red n tacky grease or tef-gel anti seize?
I know nothing about those two, they might be great! Have you tried them?
